- Family kicks off the new year mourning a loved one, a long time U.S. Postal worker. The victim was stabbed to death while walking home after finishing her shift. A suspect has been arrested by Oakland police, but a motive is still unclear.

Her partner’s sob just broke my heart. It’s obvious she did a wonderful job raising her son by his statement. May the Lord comfort all her loved ones. 🙏🏼
That was gut wrenching. That poor man. To be on something like dialysis apparently can be purgatorial and to have a mobility problem on top of that, she was probably the light of his life in si many ways. His pain and disbelief are hard to bear listening to for only a few moments. And her son. And then imagine how her partner must feel when the traditional role of a man is to protect his female partner but he is physically disabled himself, I'm sure all he would want is to be able to protect her from harm.

The boyfriend crying broke my heart. Ladies, walking alone, and using the same route sets you up to be a victim because nearby criminals WILL learn your patterns and just wait for the perfect opportunity to strike. Especially someone this age. This is just sad.

I was trying not to cry and got through her son's tears. But when I reached the point of her partner I broke down as if I lost my friend too. I've written so many condolences on YT and so tired of this wickedness and lawlessness.
Just why was taking her life the only option? Such a beautiful soul and although I never met her, so grateful I had a chance to learn of her through her family. May she rest in peace and loved ones be comforted while they are in mourning.

My mom is 70 and always active working like her and no matter how many times we bump heads I can’t imagine losing her especially like that. My mom never walks out alone because I won’t let her because I always fear something like this will happen I even watch her walk to her car like I’m her father lol. I can't "feel" for people anymore and maybe it's a modern problem for everyone else around me too. But Human beings can't be trusted and it's a sad reality. We're lost as a species and we have been for a while.

My mother passed away due to nursing home and hospice neglect this past December 22nd. I miss her so much. It's an uphill battle for me to hold those people accountable. I know if I am able to get her justice, it won't bring my mom back, but I hope this doesn't happen to someone else's family.
I lost my mom 12 years ago. It gets easier, but there will still be times where you will cry, laugh or just smile reflecting on the memories. I wish you the best and hope you get some justice.
They won't be. My grandmother was neglected and had dementia. But would always ask why she was being punished and locked away. People's crimes against anyone aren't important. The criminals reign supreme these days.

So sorry to hear this happened. I can tell she was a loving woman and meant a lot to her family and community.
My mother went to one of those ‘check cashing’ stores to cash her Social Security check, the same store near her home. After she got the money in her hand a couple of men, black men, jumped on her and beat her up throwing her on the ground hitting her. They took the money and ran away leaving her without her money and pocketbook. When I was growing up I was beat up by bullies after school, I was ‘mugged and stabbed, and kidnapped twice, I was told I’d never be college material, the family car was always vandalized, our apartment was robbed from time to time, and sometimes even when we kids were asleep while the parents were out at work people would climb in through windows to rob the place, I was ‘grabbed’ from behind and slammed on top of a fire hydrant on my head by a robber, the pain is still there 45 years later, we moved to another location and the building burned up because of people doing drugs. All these things were happening by other black folks. But, at the same time growing up we were always being told that the ‘white people’ were ‘our enemy’ and that the white man were ‘racist.’ White people never hurt us as far as I knew at the time. As a kid some of my friends in school were white, and I was beat-up by bullies just because of my friendship with other white kids. I didn’t see color as far as I knew. I eventually learned growing up your worst enemy are those ‘in your own back yard.’
