To make it look even better, I would recommend updating the value of the "draw_resolution_scale" from 1 to 2 in the xenia config file. It makes a huge difference in the way the game looks but it is quite demanding.

To make your mouse courser go away press End on your keyboard when you are on Fullscreen and ready to play, that will even make your camera feel a lot better. For anybody wondering why the config file does not have internal_display_resolution like it does in the video, you need to run Xenia once then open the config file again. That will add a bunch of stuff to the config file and then you can change it.
VERY IMPORTANT COMMENT!!!!! MOUSE NOT WORKING BUG FIX: If your mouse isn't working in the game you have to change the mouse author like POKER FaZe did at exactly 5:40, just repeat that but instead of picking the Stimulated mouse, pick the other mouse which also has a weird name. Then you have to launch xenia canary, then virtual controller, then (NOT NECESSARY: change your mouse to the transparent mouse shown in the video), switch to xenia canary, then to virtual controller (u don't have to use alt + tab to switch to them, unless if it crashes) and press F5 or just run Virtual Controller like it's shown in the video. And when you run the game, the keybinds CHANGE because of VIRTUAL CONTROLLER, M is the key for START and ENTER is the key for A, use this to navigate the menu. When inside the actual game your mouse curser will be shown (unless you changed your mouse to the transparent one) and you can press END to lock both mouse and keyboard. IMPORTANT: when you run virtual controller mouse and keyboard aren't locked and when u press END, when they are both locked, when you press ESC you wont exit fullscreen mode and your cursor wont be shown. If your game crashes when locking your mouse and keyboard with the END key, I suggest you use the TRANSPARENT MOUSE CURSOR, shown in the video. EDIT: If you have any other problems, relate to the blog shown here and in the description of this video, since it has all the keybind changed by the virtual controller and many other tips (e.g. what the END key does...):ant-sh.blogspot.com/2021/05/play-rdr-1-on-pc.html Also the sequence in which you open things is not needed (at least think) since u don't have to open xenia and then virtual controller. I think you can open virtual controller and then xenia and the mouse settings, since from my testing, nothing is different. You can also move your mouse freely at the menu and loading screens, except if you encounter any BUGS/GLITCHES while MOVING your MOUSE in the menu and loading screens and by the sequence in which u open things. If it crashes when u just freely open the programs then just open xenia, then V. C., and then mouse settings if needed. (I also think you can just press END at the menu and loading screens, but if that makes you encounter a glitch/crash, then just do the sequence that I said above, or use the TRANSPARENT MOUSE CURSOR)
Unfortunately this still doesnt work for me, I cant use my mouse to look around the world but the middle mouse button still works to look backwards. I dont know how to fix this, tried re-installing.

Well, if you enable the lock feature on the mouse (and activate the lock of course) you’ll get rid of the mouse cursor, but I understand that for you it makes the driver crash. I don’t have this problem, it doesn’t crash for me, but I have another one, whatever I set it to, the mouse sensitivity doesn’t seem to have any effect, and I’m not quite satisfied with it. Moreover, the fps could clearly be better, if only I had constant 30 fps I would be happy, but that’s clearly not the case. I have an RTX 3070, but it’s a laptop, which may explain things, so in the end you’re probably the one in a better situation !

after he copied that file (the smaller one) and renamed it, probably he opened the emulator (must have forgot to show lol) and the small file became 49KB. hope this comment still help someone

the problem with virtual controller, sometimes mouse inputs converted into holding right stick, so ur camera is perma moving in some direction, how to fix it? EDIT: I found how, looks like the best way to play this game with mouse is using virtual xbox360 gamepad, im remapping keyboard and left/right mouse clicks to virtual gamepad with x360ce,. mouse axes to vjoy with UCR (Universal Control Remapper), and vjoy to x360ce

Launch the game, then launch VC, enable, then Alt Tab back. Make sure NOT to use the mouse outside of the game. And did you untick Lock Feature for mouse? That one will crash VC.
my only concern is: you mention not to download to goty edition, yet when you are enabling patches you open the goty disk 1 patch. i hope you understand why this is confusing, im just going to wing it and enable goty disk 1 patch even though my rdr game is not goty, since that is what you do in the vid.

Same issue. Edit: Ok, this is weird. I opened the file a second time, and its there now. And no, it wasn't me missing it, I was using the "find" in Notepad. Its about 1/4 of the way down the file.

Sorry but without seing what you had done, it is impossible to help. Many people have successfully got it working, so I think you can try retracing the steps and try again. Also, read the article in the description more carefully should help.

The config file in the description isn't the same as the one you're using, it doesn't have the [Display] section to alter resolution

A little update for those interested, there’s a stick sensitivity slider in the game options, I cranked it up to the max which improved things for me

Edit: Ok, this is weird. I opened the file a second time, and its there now. And no, it wasn't me missing it, I was using the "find" in Notepad. Its about 1/4 of the way down the file.
Bro you explained everything very well but my mouse is not working also my touch pad is not working though. What did I wrong? I'm using windows 11 with RTX 3060 and i7 12th gen. Ram is 16 gb. Nothing changed in that settings
Sorry but without seing what you had done, it is impossible to help. Many people have successfully got it working, so I think you can try retracing the steps and try again. Also, read the article in the description more carefully should help.

you must always have rdr1 open in full screen and enable the virtual controller. you can only move to full screen ALT+Tab. JUST!
