- Here in this video, I will show you the basics of applying decals to an Athearn RTR diesel. Adding decals is simple and easy to do, and anyone CAN do it with only a few basic skills.

Dan, I've worked on models for years when I was younger. I used to love building aircraft carriers and jets. I've never attempted to do anything to my HO collection. So, that being said bud... yeah, anybody really can decal but.. bro.. you are VERY, VERY good at it. Don't cut yourself short man. It IS a talent. It's an ART. And you have the talent to do it and do it extremely well. I'm very impressed with your work and am enjoying your videos. Keep it up and again, great talent man. You're truly blessed! I'm working on converting a lot of my locos for example my big boy 4012 I'm repainting as 4014 and repainting my 2 tone grey 8444 into a straight black 844
Nice video, when I do lettering, numbers etc I actually use my calipers to measure. I will use a starting point, like the bottom of the cab and just measure to the top of all the numbers. It gets them really level.
something I would recommend is that when moving around the decal I suggest you use a fine brush or a more dull blade in order to eliminate the factor of tearing and or cutting the decal.

-change boxcar's numbers
and
-place decals on the ends boxcars

And what to use in order to keep the boxcar steady in place while with both hands I can manipulate decals processing.

Do you sometimes with an airbrush weather? I ask this because I see an airbrush in the background
I have tried it before but wasn't to happy with the results. My tool of preference is by hand, because you have more control and it looks better. I do use an airbrush for painting, and sometimes clear coat applications. ~Dan
