The principle of the securement system is sound, but it and the dressing seem unnecessary long especially in the case where the catheter is completely inserted in the arm. If the securement device and the dressing end up too close to or in the elbow crease, the multiple layers of dressing will make it too rigid, thus unable to follow the movement of the skin and thus will end up peeling prematurely.
