Owned my 2014 f30 320d xdrive manual for just over 8 years (72k) and had zero issues, but I looked after mine. Just tyres, service, front brakes and a battery. Best car I ever owned, but it’s good to point out these issues as they can arise. Glad you mentioned keeping the a/c on as mine never went off and zero maintenance (no regasses etc). Just bought a g20 which has had a few problems (should’ve kept my f30 😂) and one is this coolant thermostat sensor as it was telling me it was overheating.
The problem that I had with my 320D Sport was the fuel fill sometimes I went to put fuel in and it would only fill the tube down to the tank then cut the fuel fill off after a couple of liters of fuel
Hi question if someone can help my drive train malfunction keeps coming on in my bmw (not driving it but it continues to come on as soon as the car is started) has anyone else had this happen could it be from the timing or the bushes on the rear diff that need replacing Thanks
@G-Tech Motor-Works I'm thinking about the possibility of buying a 2017/18 4 Series Gran Coupe, and I'm unsure whether to choose the same 20 diesel engine or go for the gasoline one. Based on your experience, do you think the gasoline one has fewer issues? Thank you.
i have a 150k mile 220d ED.2012.. should i keep it? electric windows starting to rise and fall randomly on pressing driver side; subtle whistling during acceleration only, with no loss of power; possibly a short clutch travel. I owe 2.5k pounds on finance... It has had non dealer service; not been frashed ; was owned by a rent fleet car. any advice appreciated, as i am considering part exchange otherwise...
@@OulyHussainhad a 320d xdrive. Only time I had this judder was when I had the wrong size winter set of rear tyres fitted. Tread depths aren’t so much an issue, but the correct sizes are essential. Owned my car 8 years with only that problem which I rectified a couple of seasons later once I knew what it was.
It sounds like a very unreliable car ... I was planning on buying an F30 (to replace my ole' E46 320d), but considering how reliable was the E46 during the 7 years I've owned it, the F30 sounds really bad.
my sister bought this car new it handles like crap and the interior was falling appart by year 2 of ownership. Overal it smells good like my vw overall 3/10 car if you can afford maintenance 9/10 smell
I was looking to move to BMW from VAG cars but I think I will buy an Audi after watching this. Shame because I love the look of the 3 series convertible.

That was the best honest & informative review of this car I’ve found on RUclips.

Many thanks - hugely helpful to know what to expect in the real world from a decade old 3 series diesel
Had a 120d N47 and had it for 6 years and when I sold it it had 205k miles on it and it never missed a beat. 90% of my driving was motorway dow.
The problem that I had with my 320D Sport was the fuel fill sometimes I went to put fuel in and it would only fill the tube down to the tank then cut the fuel fill off after a couple of liters of fuel
Thanks for pointing out all these issues!
Does the B47 and B57 got the same issues?
