    🏠 Step inside the world of cultural icon Lee Radziwill with an exclusive tour of her remarkable New York, London, and Paris homes! 🌍 Join us as we delve into the exquisite interiors and fashion moments that defined the life of this legendary style maven.
    👑 Known for her impeccable taste and cultured elegance, Lee Radziwill, sister to Jackie Kennedy-Onassis, created homes that reflect her unique blend of sophistication and individuality. From the grandeur of New York to the classic charm of London and the romantic allure of Paris, each residence tells a captivating story.
    🛋️ In this video, we'll take a closer look at the interior design choices that made Lee Radziwill's homes truly one-of-a-kind. Explore the timeless elegance, the influence of the Bouvier sisters, and the impact of her illustrious family, including the iconic Jackie Kennedy.
    🌟 Don't miss out on this exclusive glimpse into the world of Princess Lee Radziwill and her extraordinary residences. Whether you're a fan of the Kennedy legacy, interested in interior design, or simply fascinated by luxury homes, this video is a must-watch!
    Lee Radziwill, born Caroline Lee Bouvier, was more than just the younger sister of the iconic Jackie Kennedy Onassis. She carved her own path, weaving a life filled with glamour, artistic pursuits, and a touch of controversy.
    Born into New York City's high society in 1933, Radziwill's life was privileged. Debuting in 1950, she was hailed as a leading socialite and graced the pages of Life magazine. Unlike her sister's conventional path, Lee dabbled in acting, though her foray on stage in the 1960s received harsh critiques.
    Radziwill's true passions laid elsewhere. She found success in public relations, notably working for Giorgio Armani. Her keen eye for aesthetics led her to a rewarding career in interior design.
    Marriage to Polish Prince Stanisław Radziwiłł in 1959 not only bestowed upon her the title Princess Lee Radziwill but also introduced her to the European social scene. She later married American businessman Herbert Ross.
    Radziwill's life was a tapestry woven with threads of social prominence, artistic endeavors, and personal struggles. She navigated the spotlight cast upon her by her family lineage while forging her own identity. While some saw her as living in her sister's shadow, Lee Radziwill was a multifaceted individual who left her own mark on the world.

    Even before it was mentioned in the video I was noticing that Lee Radziwill had a lot of books. As someone who loves to read, especially liked seeing all those shelves and stack of books. -- Something that probably isn't well-known is that when Grey Gardens, the home of Lee's aunt and cousin , the elder and younger Edith Beales, was cleaned out once tehe situation had become critical, Lee was involved in the physical cleaning out of the house. Jacqueline is known for sending the Beales financial support, but Lee was the one was there in that filthy house getting if cleaned and repaired and deserves recognition for helping her family members.

    The Paris apartment is a masterclass in timeless design, and a distillation of her personal style. For example, each element is a signifier: the 18th giltwood mirror carved in the manner of naturalistic branches elevates the room, and a nod to period antiques. Otherwise it is supremely edited and considered. Much of the upholstery is in just one fabric: A Chinoiserie fabric by Le Mararch: the white ground of the fabric is echoed by the cream painted walls. A sofa opposite is in a sold dark pink as an accent color and a pair of slipper chairs in a stripe in a similar color. Pattern, solid, stripe in a similar color palette. A series of botanical prints from her previous houses are arranged above the sofa in an odd number (11 in total) with about 3" between each framed print. These are insider design details, and I would recommend any design student to study this apartment closely on what defines classic and timeless design.

    LOVE!!! I'm in my mid 50's, and have been an antiques and art collector all of my life. Miss Radziwell's abodes are classic and timeless. I wish younger generations would embrace a more traditional approach but it seems that most young people prefer Mid Century Modern or industrial chic. I have accepted that I'm perhaps a tad dated, and am thankful that, although not my taste, people are at least buying and collecting SOMETHING other than Ikea and Target.

    • @jstokes
      @jstokes 4 месяца назад +2

      Antiques and art are back! mid-century and Industrial is out. So, you are not dated. The thing about this revisit of art and antiques is some subtle changes -there is a lot more color, and wallpaper, and no accent walls. Table lamps have patterned fabic shades. Walls have contrast trim, where the trim is a shade or more darker, or an accent. There is "uxexpected red' is accessories. There is color drenched walls where the ceiling is the same color...and some very moody, dark painted rooms offset by artwork...its back to traditional but just refreshed in a new way.

    Oh please… most books say Lee was never an intellectual, but Jackie was. As for the books, they were decorations. She was unsuccessfully in most, if not all, of her business endeavors, including her decorating business. A “fashion ambassador” is a famous person who wears designer clothes to get publicity for the designer. All her life, Lee was “rescued” by Jackie. That’s probably why in Jackie’s will, Lee got nothing, because Jackie bailed her little Sis out frequently.

      @@patricia.parra33 I don't know a lot about Lee Radziwill , but something really worthwhile she did though not well known was to help her Beale aunt and cousin, Big Edie and Little Edie, when the situation at Grey Gardens had become a crisis. Jacqueline sent money to help, but Lee was actually in the house when it was at its worst to help clear out and clean. The condition of the Grey Gardens house was so bad that it would probably be considered a bio-hazard, to use present-day terminology. When the Maysle brothers made the documentary "Grey Gardens" after this, they actually wore flea collars in the house and this was after the clean-up if my memory is correct. When her relatives were in trouble, Lee was there on-site to help out. I don't know what what have happened to Big Edie and Little Edie without Lee''s help.

      Hi! I would just have to add that it may have been reversed -had Jackie not married the Kennedys we may not have necessarily known about Jackie, but Lee had from a very early age established herself even before Jackie had met John F. Kennedy : Lee was educated in the history of art by Bernard Berenson, one of the most important scholars of Renaissance Art, and Lee began writing to him as a teenager. It was Lee who had the connections and friendships with Andy Warhol, Peter Beard, the Rolling Stones, Truman Capote, Giorgio Armani, and more.

    Most of the so called fashion and style icons of that period - Radziwill and the Duchess of Windsor, to name two - fell down badly, imo, when it came to their hairstyles. As they aged, both scraped the hair off their foreheads into bouffants. When you have a high forehead, I don't think this is a good look, allied with extreme scrawniness. It was too harsh a style, they needed something softer and more feminine.
