Man that would suck. It's stressful enough here in the upper midwest with 100% snow and ice cover on the interstates, but at least we don't have to worry about spinning out.
I'm a veteran of these ice roads and put chains all I can say it gives more traction for the lazy guys who thinks no chain is better untill I have to pull them out !!!
He should have stayed in 3rd in double axle mode and snail slow creep crawled it, and grabbed some snowy part of the edge right side of the road. Right in that section, it became hard pack ice, not snow.
How do you know I didn't once everyone was up the hill? Or should I waste time cleaning the lights off and possibly holding inbound trucks up before we clear the hill?
Rocky mountain do you copy. I'm polar bear 17##.
Love how the first guy never got out to help hook chain

Spinning out happens..just part of the job. Not a driver on these bush roads that hasn't spun out at least a few times.
Idiots throw chains ?
Was that the Oxford house
No, I believe this was the old route coming out of Muskrat Dam in Ontario.
they dont put chains on because the state claims it tears up the highways just like here in pennslvainia
We put chains on when needed and should have in this case, some guys run chains full time which is not really necessary.
If this is a highway it's already fubar though... :P
@@ziiofswe not a highway.. its a trail through the bush built on frozen earth, muskeg, rivers, and lakes...completely impassable once the ice melts.
@@RobPatterson78 I know... 'twas a joke.
Charley's Hill!

Don't miss those days!!

Any Alaska bears out their
chains chains chains chain............ its a tundra road not a highway....... chain up.
your stunned
Everyone is just hating on this man. :c
Everyone seems to forget what its like to be a rookie at something.
Looks like he never got out of fifth, on the 1st run up anyway.
He should have stayed in 3rd in double axle mode and snail slow creep crawled it, and grabbed some snowy part of the edge right side of the road.

Probably semi-auto with a clutch pedal.
Tree lumberjack
No one in the comments gets it.....if you make it barefoot with nothing locked up you're a legend if you need chains you are gay
Should have had your chains. Spinning out only makes the hill worse for others. Laziness
more ego than laziness... it was his first season and he wanted to "prove" he could do it, was my second and I should have known better.
95% of the time we don't need to chain up, but after he failed the first attempt chains should have went on.
Clean off those trailer lights Rookie.

@@RobPatterson78 don't you check!! safety but if you don't care then get hit cause no one could see you
this video has rookie written all over it . really you have to hit every gear??????
Yup, every gear. Truck was a semiautomatic, auto with a clutch pedal, and you had to shift through every gear in manual mode.
