- All I can say is that I'm afraid for my life because I just watched Christina Aguilera's music video for her 2012 single "Your Body". The song was featured on her 7th studio album Lotus which I reacted to previously here on this channel. What are your thoughts on this video? Be sure to let me know!

This video was in response to her haters. LOTS of easter eggs. Ppl have always called her trashy so she dressed provocative and lived in a trailer. They criticized her weight so there was a focus on her eating, she put on spray tan then got in a tanning bed bc ppl hated her tan, and she wore the American Flag as her shirt. This was after her infamous national anthem performance.

Regardless of how bad the album is, this video is FIERCE. And this was Christina at her chubbiest, but she didn't hesitate to put on those provocative outfits and give you her characteristic confidence and sexiness. The glitter scene at the end is freaking fantastic. Who knows what might have made her jump ship with Lotus after this single?

There was a unofficial early explicit cut of the song titled “F*** Your Body.”
Surprisingly this makes the song sooo much better. “Love” is replaced with “F***” and “sh**” isn’t censored.
Where does it say shit? I'm going through the song in my mind. Oh wait "to get shit out of my mind"? I always thought it was "to get you out of my mind" and it confused me lol
The original uncensored version is a masterpeice!

I genuinely believe this song is also about "loving your body".
She went through a lot of body shaming at that point, and she could have come out as skinny if she had wanted to (like she proved in other videos later), but instead she answered with this song/video. I think it was really badass!

Your Body is very creative and colorful, indeed! I love colors so I was here for it!
Moreover, I think her trashy persona with the trailor, tanning and the "RICH BITCH" -necklace, and gaudy color-palette really works here. There's an actual plot and story!

In Christina videos from each era, she always make something about the patriarch and the male dominant world. She started sweet in her debut with What A Girls Wants, were she tells the guy to wait her needs. In Stripped she sangs in Cant Hold Us Down abou the double standarts in society. In Back to Basics she proclaims that she is still dirrty. In Bionic she demands the guy to lick her Woohoo. In Lotus, she is a black widow killing all the mens that she seduces with Your Body. In Liberation she gets help from Demi Lovato in Fall In Line, becouse womens wasnt made to be controled by the industry, capitalism that give power only for the mens.

It's also true of her albums in Spanish! "Falsas Esperanzas" is about not wanting to be just a toy for a guy, she's asking him not to give her false expectations and to take her seriously. And in her latest Spanish album, Christina released "Pa Mis Muchachas", a song all about female empowerment, and a video where she's a mafia boss or something and she kidnaps the guy who betrayed her.

I remember watching this for the First time . I was so happy with this Video . It was so color and playful . Theres a leaked version where she said fu** instead of Love . This was the original one but for the public they Made the Love one. Lets there be Love should be the lead single.

I'm sad we only got this video from this era, even if Lotus isn't my favorite album of hers. "Let there be love" has an unofficial video, but it could've been a great single with a great video as well.

I always liked how they used pink smoke for the explosion and then the blue paint and red glitter as blood. It was an interesting way to get the message across that she killed them but kept it light and playful at the same time. While I still find Lotus to be largely a filler album and creative low, I do love the creativity in this video and her ability to keep surprising us over and over.

I always said this was a weak 1st single for Lotus. There are much stronger songs on there. This contributed to the lack luster performance of the album plus Perez Hilton had too much influence on opinions back there.
