Back in the late 60s when we skipped school this was one of the many different train rides we took to kill time. The windows could be opened in those days and we would stick our heads out while crossing the water. Had to watch out for signals and signs. Miss those days exploring the subways.
This is so mind blowing to me, to be here and never having taken this train over the water. A subway that just goes through so much water and nature seems absolutely amazing. Thank you for posting.
@@OsagieGuobadia Yes, they are going through Gateway National Park. You can access it via a welcome center that is on Crossbay Boulevard right before you enter Broad Channel. There is no access, however, allowed to that section the trains go through in order to not disturb the wildlife.
The view out of the front of Few cars is amazing!! Several trips of mine were in the R32's. Never experienced the Fe track. Only shuttle was Broad Channel to Rockaway Park. Thanks for this review😀😀
We're never gonna get views like this again in regular service after the retirement of the R32s. The good thing is that almost all cars still have windows, but you now have to peak through a cab window.
Thank you both for answering that, it was driving me nuts trying to figure out what it's purpose was, though I did consider test track and overflow siding.
Low tide on the bay.... About 6 years ago I was on a boat when the bridge had to open for us.. ( we were on a environmental trip about Jamaica Bay )...
*Why OH WHY* do they have to remove passenger cabin front widows from all the newer stock???? They've turned a great experience for transpogeeks into a goddamn bloody commute.

That timing signal at the end of the south channel bridge is fucking useless. And that bridge needs to be replaced ASAP. Every time they open it seems like they can never close it the same way they open it

Amazing NYC Subway front window view ride, DJs Hammer Trains and R32.
I loved the NYC Subway front window view of the 'A' shuttle train from Howard Beach to Far Rockaway! : )
It’s hard to believe you are taking a subway train through a federal wildlife sanctuary. Only in New York.
@@HughCorbyCruick Federal Wlidlife Sanctuary? Weird but never visit that place before in my life. : )

Nice ride. I'm gonna miss the R32s cause the rfw on those cars gave you sights like this.
Incredible! Thanks from a subway buff since 1950
These first few minutes sounds like my my old PC at night
Very nice video 👏 thank you for the front window view ❤
Glad you liked it!

The unfortunate thing is that some of them are either blocked off by employees just standing, bags in the way, or painted over the cab door window
@@skrakaayyyyy_itzyostep what's wrong with looking out the front window why did the manufacturers have to make the cab door window so blinding
Oh fun! A new Railfan Window video :D
That’s a sweet run!!!
Literally riding on the old Lirr line
Far Rock is in the house.!! 🦎🦎
This video has the longest stretch of dead end pocket track I've ever seen. do they use it for training purposes or train storage?
That is track F5, which is used for train testing! Here is a video of a train heading out to that track:

beautiful video!
Excellent! BTW, all NYC subway videos should be played at 2X speed so we get a idea of the speed trains all over the world actually travel.
Did not see these vids for a long time
