Heya everyone!
Today we continue the "Molten Spike" arc of Prequel's Finale! This track is the direct sequel to "Wings of Destruction" and "Heroes Shall Vanquish" and, for the first time in a while in the Infinite Eclipse series, it's a fully instrumental track!
This theme is for the big fight between Molten Spike and Ember & Thorax. I gotta say that, for this track, I was really inspired by the works Masayoshi Soken did for Final Fantasy XVI (especially the OST of Ifrit VS Phenix). The track is powerful and epic from the very beginning to the end!
Also, I assume you will be maybe able to recognize some leitmotivs in this track - "Wings of Destruction" and "Last Ramparts" - in both parts of the song! :)
After the arrival of Molten Spike in the Badlands, the situation for the UEP was really tense. Though, going beyond her limit and hearing the voice of a certain "King Virtus" from her scythe, Ember - Scion of Heroes - was able to use the powerful "Heroic magic" and give enough enery to Thorax so he'd be able to transform himself into a dragon as huge as Spike, who became the Wings of Destruction.
The fight between Dragon Thorax and Molten Spike was explosive, and it was really difficult for the Changeling to find a way to clear some room for Ember, knowing deep down that she's the only one that'll be able to take him down, with her mysterious yet powerful scythe.
This track is quite simple, and epic like I used to do it back in the day. Hope you'll like it!
BTW, Amyntha and I have something quite special planned to close the "Molten Spike" arc, and we can wait to show it to you when it'll be done! Though, I'll need to finish the new version of a certain track for that first ahahah

The molten tracks are always soo epic! This looks really cool and I can wait to see how this battle ends! It's scary know how powerful Molten!Spike is and how many sacrifices are need to be made to stop him, still, he isn't nearly as powerful as the High-Priestesses, let's not even talk about the Goddesses. It really shows how incredibly difficult, practically impossible to win, is the battle that the UEP has ahead. Also, I like the addition of Wings of Destruction and Last Ramparts lemotivs

Ahhh! Epic! I love it! I loved how bits of the previous two songs were in there.
I noticed that on the second artwork, one of Spike's wrists are completely stripped of scales- down to the bone. This drives home that Spike's not there any more, but one of the undead.
Yup, unfortunately it was the case at the very moment he became a Molten, it was already over for him. Let's just pray Ember and Thorax will be able to make him finally rest in peace :(
I indeed put that in on purpose in that artwork! When I was designing that wound my thoughts went to the fact that he is Molten, he is dead and so is purely driven by the energy of Aqasha. So he doesn't need his muscles to have strength.
So while Thorax managed to rip that out, which for a normal 'alive' creature would make that limb completely unusable it was almost useless to do it against Spike...

Yes! The battle of Heroes against the Molten Dragon of Destruction. Cannot wait to see how the story will end. It probably won't have a happy ending but let's see how it goes.

This is amazing I really like the art, the designs, and the story, while I do like happy endings there are some things I wished had a little more dark moments or longer lasting villains or just chapters that all together felt dark. This series does just that and while it is sad to see good characters become tainted by power of higher forces it also makes it more emotional and unpredictable of what happens next, which makes this series so good and fascinating. I especially like how the story is told through music, which to me is unique and interesting. I hope you are all doing well and I can't wait to see more, so far my favorite song is between Final Eclipse and Wings of Destruction, though this is defianitly up there as it reminds me of fighting Fatalis or Safi Jiiva in Moster Hunter World: Ice borne.

To be more precise, it's actually the "Night Queen" melody that is in "Nerath's theme", since Night Queen has been released way before :p

As for now, I'd say "Sun of the Night VIP" with Felicia Farerre and Yoed Nir!
Though, it'll be replaced next year by "Primordial Sacrifice", which I consider to be my best track so far and certainly the best track I'll ever make!

I'm sad no one does G1 songs, G1 has some interesting characters and character parallels with G4, Scoots and Danny come to mind, Danny Williams is pretty much G1 version of G4 scootaloo and seems to be the same age as her. G1 also has a whole lot of lore for some amazing shit, I mean just off the top of my head there is the rainbow of darkness, lava demons, cloud demons, the sun stone, and the heart of ponyland. Not to Megan and Danny having saved ponyland from some scaring shit multiple times. Two children being heroes definitely deserves an angst song.
I never watched G1 to G3 and, honestly, I don't plan to do it, unfortunately ^^"

All this really makes me wonder, is the original spike still there- or has what spike was made up, been swallowed by the destruction?
Same with all the others, did the corruption / destruction remove who they once were, or are they somewhere- deep down?
Originally got it when i thought of Celestia and Luna, how they most likely ceased to be given who they were the incarnations of.
Unfortunately not. As soon as one becomes Molten or Crystallized, they completely seize to exist. To explain a bit more clearly, they look like their past self because the magic that consituted their body has been used and mixed with Destruction or Nightmares magic. But that'd only be the body, which is the only thing left for most of them.
Only exception would be if Aqasha/Nerath decides otherwise but that won't happen in Prequel

This is amazing. The story has been an emotional roller coaster to say the least. I can’t wait for the next installment.
A friend asked me where to start on the story & as bad as this sounds, I don’t know where the beginning would be for them, new to the story. I’m one of those types who’ll listen over and over to the track , read & re-read a book , cause it’s among my favorites but when it comes to telling someone where to start, I don’t remember

I never would have imagined spike be corrupted and goes in a rampage, its also sad yet fitting that the only ones to stop him are thorax and Ember. But in story wise how was spike able to be corrupted? was he infected by the Solar goddess? O_O
There's another song, happening before this one, of the arrival of Spike (called Wings of Destruction). Unfortunately, he's became a Molten due to Aqasha and put a bit more Magic of Destruction in him than she would have done with any of the usual Molten

I'm still thinking about making eventually a one-shot novel for IE:Prequel, but that's still a project in the back burning as I have already a lot on my plate, would it be the huge track "Primordial Sacrifice" or even the "Infinite Eclipse Origin" novel series

They have no soul to begin with. Aqasha and Nerath's power revives them as undead soldiers; they have no soul, mind or free will. Essentially becoming their puppets.

I know you said that every canonical member of the show will be dead by the time of the IE story proper due to copyright reasons but I still have to wonder how they will die. Will the UEP manage to set up an effective resistance despite the difficulty to do so or will the deaths be mostly for naught other than light resistance.
Well, regarding some of the main characters, it'll be shown here how they will die, continuing the story of IE Prequel. Though, something will indeed happen that'll make the UEP be able to survive for 300 years.
I'll not say if it's true or not (to not reveal anything), but with a gap of 300 years, any canon show survivor would still be dead, either taken down in battle or simply of old age.
