IRA meeting in a tacky franchised "Irish pub" - because that's the last fucking place you'd expect to find a real Irish person - would be a great bit if the movie had any self awareness.
I actually was going to make a joke in this about how bad Colin Farrel's Irish accent was in Daredevil, and then I remembered that's just how he really talks.
I appreciate Devon’s deployment of the Scots pronunciation of Gaelic lol, it may not be contextually appropriate but it’s a little cathartic given how routinely English people misapply the Irish pronunciation to its Scottish Highland counterpart
Early 90's audio cues for 'ethnic' /exotic: The 'celtic' flute, the canned call to prayer, South American pan flutes, and that one melody that is they always use to let us know 'this is China on the screen.' same track every time not even a variation. I love how this film had to specify that Miller's Irish DNA caused a blood feud when his brother was killed, because nobody but the Irish would seek revenge for the death of their brother.
It shows how young I am that, when Abi did the intro, there was a half second where I thought, "Is she doing a Jacksepticeye impression?" Also, the score isn't racist against the Irish, so much as it is James Horner being James Horner. Dude liked him some Celtic music.

The IRA meeting in a Bennigan's is a REALLY funny idea.
I am actually Irish and when I first listened to this episode it was like I was dropkicked straight to the throat.
..... Dropkick Murphy'd?
That "Irish Folk" opening music reminds me of when you make a scene set in the "Middle East" and have a wailing woman over shots of the desert.
It’s a shame that Colin Ferrel, the only Irish actor wasn’t invented yet.

Colin Farrell is so Irish that he actually split in two and formed Brendan Gleason when he got famous.
