Bear with me, this clip reminds me of an obscure claymation Christmas movie that I watched hundreds of times as a child. You know how some kids watch Frozen hundreds of times? My mum got a free DVD of “Holidaze: The Christmas That Almost Didn’t Happen” (2006) with a magazine, and that movie was my Frozen. It’s a fever dream of a movie in many ways, I’d be happy to infodump about it if anyone replies wanting that, but the thing that’s relevant is, the main character Rusty is Rudolph’s little brother and his whole deal is that he needs to prove himself because his brother is famous, but they can’t say Rudolph because he’s copyrighted so they just coyly allude to Rudolph and keep him in the negative space. At one point they go to Walmart (the movie is sponsored by Walmart; it is also sponsored by Coca-Cola, Campbell’s Soup, and Ask dot com) and there are shelves and shelves of Rudolph dolls and it makes Rusty feel inferior but because they can’t include the name Rudolph the dolls are just branded “R”

In the way the waves are described... depends if weapons are allowed, and how spread out each wave was as it arrived. Bare knuckle and they all swarm you together? Three at most. They can be savage and have no notion of pulling punches or mercy, and they're heavier than you think if they latch on. If they're separated in any way, then whatever wave you get to when that many can reach you simultaneously. Just try having a cushion fight with them, two at once is challenging enough, three would be desperate battle for survival level. Four, you've no chance. Some kind of weaponry would bias things much more in the adult's favour because they tend to be uncoordinated with melee or slashing arms (the cushions are one item that don't really need any skill), and utterly terrible shots, with no concept of where to aim for either. You can absolutely destroy an eight year old in a water pistol battle if you take it too seriously, the only way they tend to win is if the grown-ups let them. If it was a real gun, the difference would be magnified just because of the weight and kick. But, sooner or later, there'd be too many targets coming in at once to first take out with ranged arms and then finish off at close range. Maybe an automated CIWS or the like could help, but only if we assume the defender has access to options the attackers don't, which destroys the point of the thought exercise in the first place - they need to be evenly matched in terms of force multipliers or the lack of.

Wait, THAT'S where this track came from? I can't remember where I first found it but it certainly wasn't anything to do with the film and I haven't watched it. But I DID buy the single a few years back, because, well... _BANGER._ And she's clearly having so much fun with it, which is always good. Felix was also a survivor of that cross-national allied programme. Maybe all the other 00 agents too. Could be what the 00 programme is in the first place. Perhaps Felix is 00-something but they never bring it up, and 009 is just accident prone / sent into the danger-close situations that even 007 is kept from, but always eventually revives after a bit of a break (if Felix can grow his legs back then who knows how far the Deadpool regen abilities go?)... That explanation (plus rapidly aerosolised acidic nanobots) could even cover Bond coming back after being full-on Dresdened. Maybe a bit contrived, but eh, my original line was going to be that "he just bought a fake ejector seat button gearstick topper off ebay for a laugh" as I'd forgotten that it later breaks out the machine guns, and by heck was I not going to be defeated by that. Question still is how Q did any kind of restoration on it seeing as it was blown up and completely burned out by the end of Skyfall? You don't come back from that, there's nothing to save, even the frame will have been irreparably damaged by the fire. Unless the car is also a mutated 00 agent with remarkable regenerative and shape shifting skills...

Listening to these, though, I've *mostly* been using laptop speakers, as I live alone and the ADHD means I have a strong likelihood of forgetting to take them out if I want to go get a drink, and have been playing the show through youtube in a browser.
