Honestly the fanbases have been spoiled by good productions for awhile now so anything that isn’t bad but isn’t as big makes them fussy. The ones pointing out the overworking nature are the only reasonable part of the side
I think it’s more so a case that they’ve seen how well it’s “colleagues” chainsaw man and jjk were treated and when the animation is just plain average 95% of the time, it stings.
Americans: stop the overwork culture and child labour Also americans: let us demand new iphone every 6 months and also we want violet evergarden quality in every anime.
@@Diogo85 I wouldn’t go that far. There are some spoiled rotten fans but I think that giving any big IP an underwhelming at best adaptation is going to sting, especially when the manga is as pretty as it is. That is especially true when the studio is known for knocking it out of the park and just didn’t.
I'm one of those who love hells paradise. I wasn't exposed to the manga before so the anime is a breath of fresh air to me. The story and pacing are great, animation and art at crucial junctures of the story are beautiful as well. I also see where the critics come in, certain less important fights have "record of ragnarok PowerPoint quality"
@@bbxavier2137 The animation is only bad when comparing it to other MAPPA shows... The animation is better than 90% of anime this season... I get it, it's not as nicely or cleanly animated as their other shows, but I'm happy with what we've got. It's better than getting nothing at all. I sometimes wonder if people who bitch and whine about animation can even enjoy a Manga...
Nah Man, it's leagues away from RoR. What people see are those typical inconsistencies in less important scenes like running and stuff, but that's just them cutting corners. But that's just small details, cuz the fights are nothing short of amazing. Maybe they not only cut corners but also are not being well received cuz they don't seem to be marketing it as they did JJK and CSM, nor putting as much of their chips on It at least compared to those. Not that it's an unmarketed anime, but clearly differently treated. Still, it's in no way a bad anime at all. It just isn't. People that say this should watch more seasonal anime to see where the paradigm stands. This is way above it
@Túrin Mormegil77 lol no. Both the animation and art direction for this anime sucks. People don;t complain about a mangas panel not moving because the artstyle makes up for it. The animation has to at least be decently good for the anime to be acceptable considering the fact that the anime's art won't be nearly on par with the manga in most cases.
What? Jigokuraku is really beautiful, unique, and love the animation. I'm actually surprised many people hate it. Like why? I don't get it. Every episode get me hype (sorry for bad English) 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
I'm not caught up yet but so far the direction just makes some scenes really flat and the plot seems extremely forced trying to shove some ideas down your throat without enough substance, but it has potential, characters have charisma
I also didn't read the manga beforehand and think the anime has been great. I'm not an expert on animation techniques though so maybe I just can't tell how it's demonstrably not as good as other projects, but it's pretty enough and different enough from your usual anime that I am still enjoying it very much. If the people working on it don't have enough time or manpower to devote to this series as people may have hoped, I'm still okay with a reduction in quality if this is the result. Karoshi is a blight on Japanese society, and if Mappa made this decision to prevent that, then I'm good with it.
People are never satisfied man, never. Every project needs to be of the highest quality. Hell's Paradise is great, it looks great. It's not the best of the best, but it's a good adaptation.
Exactly our point, if it's not the highest quality or best of the best, why does it exist? I'll tell you why, MAPPA is a money hungry studio that rushes every project and they ALL turn out mediocre.
@Arif Arrafi Dude, this is what I'm talking about, you think this is bad? That's crazy to me. Have you ever seen a bad anime? Look at the Berserk adaptation or Ex-Arms, or to a lesser extent. The second season of Promised Neverland. These adaptations were butchered. Hell's Paradise is near perfect compared to those. My point is simply that people's standards are rising to an unreasonable level. Yes, the manga will do some things better. Generally, art, maybe atmosphere, or even pacing. But the anime does a solid job of conveying the story and keeping it interesting as the mystery of the island is unraveled. No one seems to be able to be content nowadays.
I don't think that this anime is hated for the quality. The animation, the music, the atmosphere are really good, but for how is adapted, it's not that good as an adaptation. The story is actually really rushed. They've basically rushed 7 chapters, over 200 pages of really good story in 2 or 3 episodes. And it's sad, i've read all the manga volumes and the artwork and story in the manga are truly amazing. It's exactly like the situation with the God Of Highschool series.
@@jj_2707 1. You have a very high standard. 2. Not everything has to be the best quality in my opinion. 3. Not every project is mediocre. Attack on Ttitan, Jujutsu Kaisen and Kakegurui definitely aren't.
Its weird nowdays a show like Hell's Paradise getting hate and people say its bad the anime fanbase really gotten spoil by good animation like demon slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen and if other anime doesn't have that standard its instantly bad. God forbid they watch the 2010-2015 anime this show will be fully praise if its aired back then but not today
@@pranavkalbhore7708 what im saying is in term of animation back then a show like Charlotte who the story isn't that bad but the animation is actually decent its get popular while the show like Hell Paradise who the story is decent but the animation is just standard its instantly bad
@@brianhm23 Not a good comparison because one is non-action anime and other is action. And you don't have look that far. Literally last season we have Angel next door which was popular despite bad production.
As a fan of the manga Hell’s Paradise I feel Mappa has done a great job. The voice acting & animation are top notch. The manga had a dark gritty look & the animation I feel has been true to the anime. Favorite series of this season.
Exactly bro, it was so good!! fck this haters fr lol, I like how gritty it is, it reminded me of vineland saga season one in how bloody it was and how they had to grind everyday to fucking live in that world. So many battles in each episode compared to JJK, I just loved everything about that and some people just dont get it I guess. I cant wait for new season!
I don't see why people are hating it really, I honestly enjoyed it, and don't gimme started on that part with Yuzuriha, they deserve a raise on that one.
I am not invested in characters I had very high expectations from this anime because it was hyped up a lot sure manga great I dropped it for me heavenly delusion is better than this
The first episodes were really great animation wise, but even then the current animation is still a treat to watch. I barely noticed a drop in quality because I was immersed in the story and world
while i want to agree, i love to analyze, so the quality dip was super noticeable early on. a lot of faces and character design was inconsistent starting on episode 3 and it just got worse and worse. the animation quality was decent overall, but the quality was obviously half-baked, with just how many visual flaws it had from a technical standpoint. jigokuraku should've had a longer schedule, at least. sure the story salved the issues, but imo, it just doesn't really warrant an anime if an incredible manga was just going to be adapted to a barely competent product. i just feel cheated, especially with the promising opening and the first episode.
Jujutsu kaisen was popular for its amazing constant animation and visuals Chainsaw man was Mappas golden goose for its many talented staff behind the scene and unique Ed for EACH episodes which has never been implemented in anime before Comparing hells paradise to them, it isn’t really able to be that unique except for its beautiful painted backgrounds
@@LeJoyBoy23 I’ll like to know what anime you’re talking about, because if a studio has enough investment to throw 1 different Ed for every episode the show is bound to be worth watching.
Here in Brazil there is a lot of people complaining about how the animation fell off in lastest episodes. Personally i really like the show, people watch Kimetsu and think every anime will be like that
Kimetsu doesn't even look that good. People got tricked by the use of VFX in Kimetsu (the explosions, the flames, the particle effects). The people that think that Demo Slayer is "the best looking anime" didn't watched something like *EVA* (the 26 episodes TV series) and *Cowboy Bebop* ...and even something like that ecchi short 6 episodes called *GOLDEN BOY* !
@@azumag4432i mean if it doesn’t steal your attention then is all that good animation even worth it?? Ufotable clearly mastered this art and know what works and if not best ufotable is one of the best animation studio in japan …well i would say ufotable’s best work was fate and hopefully they will crush the genshin impact anime coming as it was already so popular and ufotable will clearly make it more popular
@@azumag4432 Naah man.. Ufotable is insane when it comes to animation.. Even their 3d is better than other anime's 3ds.. Fate for example.. You watch fate heavens feel and then you pause the screen at any time and its literally a wallpaper at any frame! That's not normal. Btw kimetsu isnt even in my top 3 this season.. 1 - Heavenly Delusion 2 - Vinland Saga 3 - Hells Paradise
@@azumag4432 It's all about being visually appealing. Demon slayer might have a shit story and annoying characters. But i can't deny that the flashy fight scenes, music and lighting make people love it so much.(i am a certified demon slayer hater). So no, those "trucking VFX" does work really well
Now this is a history lesson I'm curious about learning. Heck, I read an interview last Friday regarding Yuji Kaku and his inspiration behind creating Jigokuraku: Hell's Paradise
I just started watching Hell's Paradise today. I'm on episode 5 and I'm loving it so far. Haven't seen an anime with such an interesting concept in awhile.
All the drama about Hell's Paradise aside, regarding MAPPA, they are doing an amazing job with Vinland Saga season 2. The season has been absolutely beautiful.
I'm really enjoying the anime, but It feels a bit below the standard quality that the studio has set itself. Hell's Paradise feels neglected compared to everything else the Mappa animation plantation is growing. One thing I _am_ loving is Rie Takahashi's performance as Yuzuriha. She's one of my favorite va's and shes killing it.
This is it right here. It is below Mappa’s quality and people are annoyed that Hell’s Paradise is getting neglected. Cause it is a great manga that deserves a good quality adaptation.
@@zaszz165frr...mappa could've been better especially gabimaru vs tensen fight...bro it felt way too much unnatural and flat and that scene when temza died and shion and nurugai fled...bro that nurugais cry scream made me laugh ...so degraded animation quality
Hells Paradise is my favorite manga. It has the highest percentage of my favorite panels compared to any other manga. One thing I was very impressed with as soon as they arrived on the island was how vibrant the colors were, which I never really thought about reading a black-and-white manga. Also I really loved the flow of the fight scenes, even if some of the visuals weren’t “MAPPA” level.
I actually really love this anime, I don't follow the anime community outside of RUclips so I was unaware so many people had problems with it I thought this show is a banger
The series is interesting to me. While you make valid points when it comes to the animation and love or hate it people like it for that, I have to look at it from the opposite side, I’m an artist, I draw a lot, I give props to other artists and animators because that’s not easy to do. For me if the story isn’t good I won’t watch something or read it. Basically is the series boring? The series isn’t boring to me but that’s probably because I’m more interested in what’s happening over how it looks. I can appreciate the visuals but if it’s overall boring I won’t watch it. My guess is how allot of new anime fans tend to only seem to care about the main stream thing. Maybe they don’t see art as well anymore or maybe they don’t like mystery story as much. Ether way I think the studio is doing fine to keep us entertained and that’s the most important part.
Hells paradise is great i dont know why some ppl are just never to be pleased... not every anime can look like demon slayer or FATE and i like the slow paceing in this kind of story where ppl are just thrown into an unknown situation and have now clue what is going on behind the scene.
I’m seeing people being technical about certain nickpicks to an autist degree, I get it you have an art degree good job, this show isn’t later Seven Deadly Sins stuff. It’s fine for a Mappa production, not like the highest level and it’s become tiring.
@@qliphalpuzzle5453 They're most likely manga fans who expected a full investment from Mappa on the project like JJK but were disappointed at how they didn't get it
You know, I didn't know about this story, watched the first episode and got hooked. Then I read the entire manga in a week. After that I realized that, while there's pretty detailed and intense fighting in the manga, the story relies more in the dialogue and the expriences each character come across. So if the animation isn't the absoulte 10/10 top of the line, I don't really mind, cause it's not even a bit bad, it's decent. Fight scenes are done better and you can tell they focus on the fights making them feel fluid and whatnot
I did the same thing! Watched 3-4 episodes and was completely hooked into reading the whole manga, and this is not the type of story that needs to be carried by next-level animation to be enjoyable
I don't even watch anime that much these days, but I always love watching your content. Been on & off with your videos for around 6-7 years & your content always puts a smile on my face. You always sound so passionate in your videos, which I love to see. I hope you're having an amazing day & keep on doing what you love! :D
@@cazimim3375 Honestly, I might look into it. I only started watching Chainsaw Man a couple of weeks ago & I just finished My Dress-Up Darling a few days ago, so I have been slowly getting back into things. It just takes me a long time to actually start watching stuff. XD
I found the anime to be beautiful, I like the contract between the dark and gritty parts and the brightness of the island all the florals and antagonists. I liked Mappa’s animation. I haven’t read the manga yet but I want to read it next.
People dislike this anime? What? I feel like like these kinds of complaints only exist on twitter in the anime "critic" circles. I don't know anyone personally who has said anything bad about this show. I personally love it. The anime has above average animation quality, it's not like spectacular but it's a high quality production compared to most. People have been spoiled by the over production of certain scenes in some shows lately where they are movie quality, that is not the norm. These snobs need to get off twitter and get over the nitpicking.
Thanks for covering this Chibi. I have seen so much hate thrown at this series and I could never figure why. People complaining about the animation and even pacing but I have been watching weekly and think it’s amazing. I definitely feel that people are becoming too spoiled by super high quality and are having too high expectations.
Same people that’s want berserk quality manga to screen but that much quality is super expensive. I wish every anime that had crazy detail like berk manga super quality manga but to make it move/ change is crazy. Enjoy you got it cuz there’s so many manga that should have animation but don’t. Some masters can’t be replicated cheaply… read or watch your story n enjoy. Don’t complain
there are moments in the anime that feels off like a huge downgrade in visuals, but i'm not too bothered by it just feels like the growing pains of an animation studio being the forefront in recent seasons must be getting into them
I’m loving hells paradise, far more than something like demon slayer which is defo more visually impressive. Ppl tend to shit all over a serious cos of an aspect they don’t love which is kinda stupid
imo Hell's Paradise started slow (almost generic).., but once they got on the island with multiple characters (and seeing just how dangerous the Island is), is when if finally clicked..
It does suffer from still motions during fights from time to time but it doesn't make me dislike the show or anything. Still my favorite show of this season no question. Every single episode is a banger and they don't miss.
Honestly I've been so confused by peoples complaints with anime recently. Trigun was harshly criticized for being 3d despite being beautiful. Hells was criticized for not being insanely top tier animations and instead just being overall GOOD instead of great. Vinland saga focuses on character development instead of just fighting.
Unfortunately, most studios overwork and underpay their animators. Mappa just gets the most attention because they’ve been getting the most work these past few years.
All of them do that unfortunately. It's a very common issue in the animation industry in general including things like anime, VFX, and western cartoons, the toxic work culture in Japan just further exasturbates those problems thst are present all around the world
I mean, they overwork animators since people keep asking for high-quality animation. At least to me, it's a bit weird. People say mappa is overworking it's animators, so they drop the quality to a normal level to give their animator some rest. And the people get enraged, saying they should make something good. Even if Mappa didn't pick Hell Paradice, other studios might not be able to achieve mappa's normal level. The problem is simple, we got used to high quality, and are thinking of it as a standard. And that's wrong.
When an anime has a focus on combat, animation gonna play a key role in our enjoyment. And I do think the team behind hell's paradise are doing a great job, sadly not every anime can get the highest quality production, but any hate is completely underserved.
It’s a matter of expectations vs reality,we expect something on JJK level from Mappa especially when you consider this is the last one of the dark trio that they are adapting themselves. Not gonna get into specifics but watch the video from Probably Pretentious and you’ll get why people are disappointed. I myself am one of them but that isn’t really diminishing my experience too much, the world building, characters and background art are still enough to make me enjoy the show.
You have to also take in account that the "dark trio" is a very obscure thing that they may not have even heard of that this is what their fans consider it to be. And if you were a true fan, then you would know that all 3 of these shows have different rythms and were never going to be animated the same way. The number of actions scenes in a story doesn't determine the level of skill and talent that goes into the animation. Sometimes a very simple atmospheric scene can take much longer than a fast action scene.
I didn't read the manga, so I have opportunity to look at the show with fresh eyes. I quite like the show so far, it's not as animated as other Mappa's works, but when they actually make some animation stand out it does (as few as those moments are). About animation being too still, that might be a lil nit-picky, unlike other people I perhaps don't need there to be constant action to keep my attention at the screen, and animation errors don't bother me too much unless they are boruto kind of distracting. I still do remember first time Gabimaru uses fire jutsu the first time, because it stood out so much then, even though Jusitsu Kaisen have more good animation in it, it's so good across the board sometimes it's hard to remember any given scene, so in my opinion it's good to have overall good quality with exceptional moments instead of very good across the board, simply because you can use it for narrative purposes, and really highlight important moments. Though if manga is up a notch I totally get the disappointment of people who read that first, I'll keep that in mind and read it after anime finishes airing.
I haven't read the manga so I don't have any bias for hell's paradise, if I am super honest I don't consider the animation being the problem, is just that the show is not good enough in terms of the story they are just presenting us the villains 10 episodes in, it really feels like you could skip everything from between episode 2 to episode 7/8 without missing out on anything important. you can't get attached to the characters because they either do nothing at all in the story (like Yuzuriha), get killed before they even accomplish anything or the show tries to kill them everytime they are on the screen so you realize that they will easily die at any moment (should probably let the viewers get atttached to them before trying to kill them, just saying...) For a season that apparently is going to be 13 episodes long, we are 10 episodes in and it feels like the show was only 4 episodes worth of content.
The only bad thing is that it doesnt do the manga justice. Also when tou compare it too the other 2 big shows it feels a bit rushed. Like they just tried to throw the show out as fast as possible so they can focus on jjk season 2.
Unfortunately this is the problem of the hype culture hell's paradise isn't even close to jujutsu kaisen or kimetsu no yaiba and yet it has such a high Score on mal lol, this is why i always say that my anime list Scores are not meant to be Taken seriously
The manga of Hell's Paradise is really good imo, which is why this adaptation not living upto the expectation is painful. I tried Heavenly Delusion, it's manga is like super wack which is why it's super surprising it got such a great adaptation. This is my opinion though, I just thought Heavenly Delusion gets waaaaay too weird later on.
@@Devang-rs8xn yea i agree, the best anime to Come out this year (except in terms of visuals, still good tho), however i doubt it's winning an anime if the year award since popularity is the deciding Factor, not that the award matterd lol, idk which is the most popular anime rn i think it's oshi no Ko, atleast thats a decent show being up there.
I dunno, people hate for the sake of hate? From the clips I’ve seen, it’s looks like a good show with a good message and with a protagonist that is very loyal to his wife.
There's only one thing I dislike about Hell's Paradise. That being the magic system. Spoiler warning here. Up until Tao was introduced, the basic premise was that yes, supernatural abilities and the like are more than prevalent in this era of Japan. After Tao was introduced, I was stoked to make the connection that all of those supernatural abilities were basically watered down abilities of Tao, with Tao being described as the origin of the universe. This, however, is where my annoyance comes into play. As there are now unique *types* between each individual person, including the big bads. So some types are naturally stronger against others, which is how they're able to take down the first real bad guy. Devolving an otherwise interesting and unique system into the tropey pokemon type battle system. In a system that otherwise shouldn't allow this to happen. Because Tao is "the origin of the universe" having different pieces of that conflict with other pieces, acting as POISON means that the universe itself is in complete disarray. Which means that controlling that power should be chaotic, and messy, where every character we've seen thus far, uses it with finesse and ability they shouldn't be capable of. Basically, in an otherwise interesting system which requires you to accept your weaknesses and strengths as both part of yourself growing yourself as a person, with both Yin and Yang aspects, being outward, and inward, being important to your own growth. To what should be a very unique system, was boiled down to a very generic and flat spectacle, to create openings where the main characters can win. Which I feel is a cop out. That is my only problem with the show. I otherwise love it.
I have no issue with the studio or anything I have a problem with the source material. The MC is broken AF. They made the villains look like gods at the start and I LOVED IT. But then the MC can randomly keep up with one of them, when he himself literally said that he has no chance...
We’ve seen him fight before this. If you’re surprised he was able to hold his own for a bit I’m questioning if you were even watching. I believe they’ve made it quite clear from the start he’s strong.... Not to mention the Tensen was already tired.
Wouldn't compare Gamers to anime fans since there's a lot of beloved franchises like Undertale or FNAF which honestly don't have groundbreaking graphics, as much as they are a lot of Triple A games that got a lot of hate like Tlou part 2 and 90% of EA games.
I fell for this show episode one and it only got better imo. Sure the characters appear shallow, I will admit that, and I think that is the only thing I could even critisize. I love the bad guys' designs, I love the side cast, I love the animation and overall style, I absolutely love the vibe of the environment.
I dislike hell's paradise because I find it hard to like the mc. Stays for the executions, has a reason to go back to his wife given to him... and then he doesn't for some reason? Agree to some task for his freedom despite already being a criminal and it making no difference if the government waves away his crimes? I wasn't convinced one bit that his situation was dire enough and that woman either strong enough or alert enough to stop the newly motivated mc from bouncing and going to his girl. So when we begin heading to the island... you know? Didn't care. Action smaction. Lost me already. Set up had that plothole and none of it should've been happening this way. Imo anyway.
Went into the show blind btw. So this isn't because I had any particular expectations of a MAPA anime or a manga version. Just observed him getting a desire established and nothing in the show motivating him to take the path he did. But he started taking it anyway causing me to nope out. Simple as that.
He doesn't want to go back to his village bcoz he knows he can't fight entire village filled with ninjas and the chief who is supposed to be immortal. They also have his wife as a hostage so it would eventually lead to something bad to her so he just gave up. Sagiri gave him a chance that he can live with her again. Stop blaming the show just bcoz you couldn't understand the plot yourself
@@neoparmar2169 That is complete bs. Stop bugging other people with your headcanon that you aren't bothering to realize is headcanon. 1. What, having his crimes forgiven means the chief won't merc him? Come on. 2. That's a crazy reach. Having his crimes forgiven doesn't mean the chief will stop using her against him. Or what, he's gonna snitch to the government and have them swoop in to save her on account of him being a pardoned non-criminal now lol? 3. And No Sagiri didn't. She gave him a task that is a distraction that has little to do with his actual desire. YOU just weren't paying attention. Distracted by all the action I bet :/
The comments below are giving me hope. I am not the only one who actually likes Hell´s Paradise. I have seen all episodes so far and I am looking for the moment of "waking up" and seeing what is wrong with the animation or the story. I actually really love the flowers and the crazy world they have created because it just looks like heaven. the story itself is really good too? Gabimaru is such a great character. I love his journey of realising that he is not all the killings the had done or the violence or death, he is so much more! it´s fair to have an opinion and do whatever you like, but I am happy to see that my taste is not that bad :D.
They’re idiots that’s why they hate it. There is literally not one thing to hate about this serious and I bet the haters can’t even give a legitimate reason to why they hate it. 👀
it actually ain't bad beause i managed to finish the manga... would have quit after a couple of chapters or halfway if the story didn't piqued my interest and the anime looks better than a lot of others this season
so the content that jigokus manga has given us is just beautiful and i dont want this manga to get a lackluster adaptaion. this is gotta be one of the shows where i will recommend manga over anime(i am talking about the recent animes as most of them look beautiful)
I liked the animation and character designs but that's the only thing I liked and all that I watched it for tbh.... people who actually liked this probably also liked rokka.... the writing, plot, and pacing were absolutely horrendous. but at least the animation was nice and the characters looked good so ig i'd give it 5/10 maybe 6/10
I personally think that hells paradise till now has been pretty sub-par. It's nothing special, it's just doesn't feel special. The art is really good, animation also was not that bad but it just has an awkward feel to the action in this which is really off-putting.
the problem is that people got spoiled by mappa lol, I agree that Hell's Paradise is below their usual standards but with how stretched thin mappa is, I'm just glad that they didn't fuck up the anime adaptation. I thought it was enjoyable and I had a great time watching it, I grew up watching old school anime with shit tons of lackluster fillers lol, animation quality drop aint gonna throw me off from enjoying a show lol.
What??? People hate it? Both songs are beautiful, I keep watching both opening and ending each time due to the beautiful colours and design. The show itself is breathtaking and I love the story, it is unique. I am surprised...
The hells paradise anime isn't as bad as people is making it out to be, it's just that oshi no ko, mashle, vinland saga s2, heavenly delusion, demon slayer season 3 and dead mount death play are way better😂😂
I use crunchyroll to watch it, and the series as a whole is user rated at a 4.9. I didn't even know it was getting any heat. I've enjoyed the show thus far and think its got a pretty cool plot and impressive animation.
I really never got the hate for this anime. Not talking any actual problems with the story but the animation. It's soooo beautifully animated???? I LOVED the manga and it's adaptation is fantastic. Way better then AoT S4 imo & on par with JJK & CSM.
It confuses me why people are so obsessed over a decidedly mediocre anime like JJK and there's so much hate for Jigokuraku. JJK's animation is better for sure, but it's not like Jigokuraku is an ugly show. I'm way more invested in the story of Jigokuraku, the characters are way more interesting, the fights are still very hype, and I'm overall just having a much better time watching it. I can already tell I'll remember the show a lot more than I will JJK, which is an extremely by-the-books shounen adaptation. Art and animation don't exclusively carry a show for me, and it's frustrating to see so many people reduce a show to primarily that angle. But I'm also in the minority on a number of shounen anime hype trains. I dropped MHA several seasons ago, and I don't think Demon Slayer is a 10/10 show, even if it's very good. Maybe I'm nuts for wanting shows with depth instead of flash.
Hype was based on the manga which ended. It is a great manga, but remeber excitement was about the whole product. While if you have not read it you wont know.
@@JB-qu8pv lmao Mappa has only revolutionized cgi forever by making it seemless from 2d. Ufo got like a few hype scenes boosted by popular streamers and normies(took only 19 eps). Which all collapses as soon as they use cgi in the foreground. These normies know nothing about compositions or pacing they don't even notice anything from the background so ofc they should determine how good an adaptation is
@@JB-qu8pv And what did Mappa do with CSM? If you're talking about the underperformance it did even though the source material is good, we could apply the same argument for the Fate series which was also animated by UFO. Great source material and great animation yet the only time people ever talk about it currently is in powerscaling debates, which character they would want to smash the most and the Saber vs Berserker scene.
@@CBT_king “What have you done for me lately”? Going by that common phrase Ufotable has done a tremendous job with its current main series, and I’m saying this as someone who may be in the minority and actually thought the CSM anime was better than the manga.
Bruh lets not compare this to demon slayer.. That is like carried just by the animation, the story is not bad but not great either. Hells paradise on the other hand has some really unique storytelling and that really just does not compare to demon slayer. Both are really good anime, just that they have different strengths and weaknesses
Would really suggest not to get your public opinion off reddit cause its a really small section with a really annoying and loud voice for most fanbase. Its like people who really want to promote their take for attention roam twitter n any topic is just a battlefield for their massive theories or ideology which is most often but not the worst experience to hear any opinion or get general conscious.
I'm honestly sick of how fickle the anime community is. If a production is even standard quality they bite the hand that feeds them. If a production is half baked people don't even think about it much.
People should just go and read the manga if they don't like the anime I don't get why people want a 1to1 with manga to anime. Anime should be different from the source material in my opinion@@cwega2463
I like the anime more than Manga because if I liked the Manga more than the anime I would just read that Manga I don't understand why people just having to complain about everything nowadays but that just my thoughts yes I respect the Source material from the manga but I genuinely rather see Art In Motion and that is the anime delivers Solomon anime onlyfan
@@cwega2463 yes I know but if people keep bringing up those problems it's just going to get the anime canceled most likely people think that by bringing up the problems with the anime at the Anime Studio in the animators are going to make the anime better but that's probably not what's going to happen like I said it's just going to get the anime canceled most likely and I like the anime I don't want to see yet another anime get canceled but I understand and agree with what your saying
I don't understand how people don't get the criticisms. For an action oriented anime, you expect it to have decent animation, obviously it doesn't need to have Demon Slayer levels of quality, but what bugs me is how inconsistent the quality of the show gets regularly. The criticisms are valid, the anime's production is not even decent, it has a bunch of off model shots that just worsens the viewers experience. I genuinely laughed at a certain characters death scene because the animation and direction was not able to convey what it wanted to well.
I actually love the animation style and the story. It's something new and very deep! Most people who probably complain about it are the same people who are just getting into anime because it has become culturally acceptable in recent years and want an action pack anime.
Americans: stop the overwork culture and child labour
Also americans: let us demand new iphone every 6 months and also we want violet evergarden quality in every anime.
Pretty much anything better than Tokyo Ghoul quality or Berserk 2017 Im fine with
@@thecod2345 Exactly. Some people are just spoilt brats.
Sorry to be that guy but the animation is pretty bad nothing against the show
Some people hate on it just cuz it's Mappa animating it which is pretty stupid
Nah, it's all good
The production is ok but the story hasnt hooked me yet, other than gabimaru, i havent really cared for anyone
I agree, do people want the lazy old big eyed characters all the time?
I'll tell you why, MAPPA is a money hungry studio that rushes every project and they ALL turn out mediocre.
bruh its not even called average, its BAD, thats what the problem is, even some of important fight is bad, literally the manga did it better

As a fan of the manga Hell’s Paradise I feel Mappa has done a great job. The voice acting & animation are top notch. The manga had a dark gritty look & the animation I feel has been true to the anime. Favorite series of this season.

Exactly... The story has me hooked

me too!! It was so good, I cant wait for season 2.
while i want to agree, i love to analyze, so the quality dip was super noticeable early on. a lot of faces and character design was inconsistent starting on episode 3 and it just got worse and worse. the animation quality was decent overall, but the quality was obviously half-baked, with just how many visual flaws it had from a technical standpoint. jigokuraku should've had a longer schedule, at least. sure the story salved the issues, but imo, it just doesn't really warrant an anime if an incredible manga was just going to be adapted to a barely competent product. i just feel cheated, especially with the promising opening and the first episode.
Maybe it's because I haven't read the manga but I find 0 problems with the style, not every anime needs to have this massive hype fighting scene
Jujutsu kaisen was popular for its amazing constant animation and visuals
Chainsaw man was Mappas golden goose for its many talented staff behind the scene and unique Ed for EACH episodes which has never been implemented in anime before

All the drama about Hell's Paradise aside, regarding MAPPA, they are doing an amazing job with Vinland Saga season 2. The season has been absolutely beautiful.

Hell's Paradise feels neglected compared to everything else the Mappa animation plantation is growing. One thing I _am_ loving is Rie Takahashi's performance as Yuzuriha.
Knowing MAPPA, they are one of the anime studios that overwork and underpay animators.
It’s the production committee. All these shows with a terrible schedule. But taking on Hell paradise wasn’t a smart move by MAPPA tho.
You hit the nail right on it's head
@@The_Boy_Savior115 yet got almost no likes because people like being blindly positive in this channel lol
I personally love it
I haven't read the manga so I don't have any bias for hell's paradise, if I am super honest I don't consider the animation being the problem, is just that the show is not good enough in terms of the story they are just presenting us the villains 10 episodes in, it really feels like you could skip everything from between episode 2 to episode 7/8 without missing out on anything important.
you can't get attached to the characters because they either do nothing at all in the story (like Yuzuriha), get killed before they even accomplish anything or the show tries to kill them everytime they are on the screen so you realize that they will easily die at any moment (should probably let the viewers get atttached to them before trying to kill them, just saying...)
For a season that apparently is going to be 13 episodes long, we are 10 episodes in and it feels like the show was only 4 episodes worth of content.
The Hell's Paradise's animation quality is higher than your average anime airing this season. Its all good
The only bad thing is that it doesnt do the manga justice. Also when tou compare it too the other 2 big shows it feels a bit rushed. Like they just tried to throw the show out as fast as possible so they can focus on jjk season 2.

It’s not random. It’s hinted that the village chief gave him something that boosted his skills beyond normal human levels.
If u think Gabimaru alone is OP, you ain't ready for other OP characters in the future😂
"Randomly"😂
You know he lost that fight right? So how is he overpowered
We’ve seen him fight before this. If you’re surprised he was able to hold his own for a bit I’m questioning if you were even watching. I believe they’ve made it quite clear from the start he’s strong.... Not to mention the Tensen was already tired.
I love the show. Look forward to Saturdays for this very show.
Anime fans are becoming modern "gamers" who just want graphic to be good and thats all they care for.
This is one of those shows that can get by with “average” animation imo. I’m more interested in the world and story
It's possible to dislike it? Absolute plebs.
Nah there's good enough reasons to criticize it. I don't think that's called hating tho.
@rickchakraborty2087 its only called criticism when it's about mha
it actually ain't bad beause i managed to finish the manga... would have quit after a couple of chapters or halfway if the story didn't piqued my interest
and the anime looks better than a lot of others this season
so the content that jigokus manga has given us is just beautiful and i dont want this manga to get a lackluster adaptaion. this is gotta be one of the shows where i will recommend manga over anime(i am talking about the recent animes as most of them look beautiful)
The three big dark shounen is all done by mappa and it does seem hells paradise gets the short end of the stick but i still love it
Heavenly Delusion* But yes agreed
I agree that mustache is saying, those animes are indeed better in a way, yet Hell's Paradise isn't a bad series, I find it enjoyable.
@@KillerTacos54Heaven Delusion I've never got a watch, but I heard it's really good, I will give it a try one day.
Mashle? Good? Yeah right. No cares for that Harry Potter knock off.
Dead Mount Death Play is sadly heavily censored compared to the manga.
I'm enjoying it so far. Personally my favorite animes this year are golden kamuy and my home hero. Really underrated. 💯
I think the reason why some people hate it, is because they're being irrational about it.
People overhypered it ngl and mappa fumbled
But why hate?
@@brianhm23 not hating at all. Saying it was overhyped isn't hate
Hype was based on the manga which ended.
It is a great manga, but remeber excitement was about the whole product.
While if you have not read it you wont know.
Have not started it.
Comparing Mappa to Ufotable, the studio which adapts mid source materials only is hilarious
Who is who because Mappa Adapted AoT and Dororo and UFOtable adapted Fate
Yet Ufotable is such a goat that they elevated that “mid” series to record breaking levels. Conversely what did MAPPA do with CSM? I rest my case
First 2 episodes were great. Then it went to 3-4/10 pretty fast and is like this since
Lol
Would really suggest not to get your public opinion off reddit cause its a really small section with a really annoying and loud voice for most fanbase. Its like people who really want to promote their take for attention roam twitter n any topic is just a battlefield for their massive theories or ideology which is most often but not the worst experience to hear any opinion or get general conscious.
For me this anime is my fav for the season.
Clickbait just from the title because the only other anime more popular than hells paradise for spring was (no suprise) was demon slayer
I'm honestly sick of how fickle the anime community is. If a production is even standard quality they bite the hand that feeds them. If a production is half baked people don't even think about it much.
this show is half baked though. it’s a below average production which is unfortunate for a great source material.
@@benfrancois7856 it’s not people complaining about anything, the show had fundamental visual issues
Because it's made by MAPPA and somehow ppl like to shit on everything made by MAPPA because it always gets popular
Ufortable levels of quality* and true with your comment.
@@Situpx mentioned demon slayer because it's also airing at the same time
I have really enjoyed it so far
Episode 9 was fucking Fantastic, as if ep 8 was not good enough.
people are weird nowadays
I actually love the animation style and the story. It's something new and very deep! Most people who probably complain about it are the same people who are just getting into anime because it has become culturally acceptable in recent years and want an action pack anime.
