    A good video, but please stop yelling... makes it look like a lot of those immature hype videos -- could be just me, but... it matters to me, so I figured I'd give you that feedback.

    I have their X Max 3 and am loving it. For the dry box, I was able to purchase a Bowden tube and run it from the side to the back so I don't have to mount the spool of filament on the back anymore. This is super nice since the table I have it on is just big enough for this machine's monstrous frame.

      Thank you so much! I think this printer has a quite a few flaws, but I dont think any of them are a deal breaker for the average person. For someone that regularly prints ABS I think this machine might be the best option on the market. When I get situated in my new studio I will 100% be using this printer to reprint parts for my VORON and bring it back to life.

    @theprinthouse Which mid range (£800 avg), core xy, enclosed printer do u recommend?

    • @ThePrintHouse
      @ThePrintHouse  Год назад +1

      It really depends on what youre going for. I can recommend all of the ones in that price range (that Ive tested) for different applications. If you want to print ABS, PETG, and more advanced materials then absolutely the qidi x3 line up. If you want to only print pla then go with bambu printers, but if you only want 1 color save money and go K1. I havent tested the other speedy corexy printers like the adventurer 5m or other brands.

      Is it in the menu system? I looked around and never saw it. I will check again! Yeah this printer is sadly not upgrade friendly for aftermarket parts.

  • @oleurgast730
    @oleurgast730 11 месяцев назад +1

    Actually I have the X-Max 3 and the X-Smart 3. The board is based on the MKS Skipr. You can setup everything from scratch, there is even an actuall version of Armbian for the MKS Pi (which is integrated in the board). So you are not dependend on Qidi for any upgrades.
    For me the most annoying part is Qidi using a thermocouple, not a thermistor on the hotend. I modified my hotend to use a Revo with High-flow nozzle, wich has about the same flow than the original hotend, but makes it much more easy to swap (without even recalibrating z-offset) to an ObXidian for abrasive filaments or to other nozzle diameters. However, due to no thermistor input on the printhead nor the main board, I added an old Creality board as 3th MCU just to get a thermistor input. Worked well on first try (and I am a beginner with Klipper).

      Dang, that's amazing and great to hear. It actually doesn't surprise me though, based on what I saw with the rest of the printer. It's a solid option. I'm excited to see what qidi has for 2024!!

    How far away from Bambu is the print quality on the Qidi?

    • @ThePrintHouse
      @ThePrintHouse  6 месяцев назад

      Qidi machines are as good as Bambu machines in terms of quality and speed. They can even print certain materials better. The user experience is good but it is absolutely not as good as bambu though

  • @alx_256
    @alx_256 11 месяцев назад +1

    Thanks for the great review. You mention that this is one of the best for engineering filaments ? Even better than the X1C next to it ?curious if Bambu is worth the extra $$$ if mostly printing ABS/ASA.

    • @ThePrintHouse
      @ThePrintHouse  11 месяцев назад +1

      My Bambu X1C is WAY more refined, however this machine (with tweaking) is probably better. If you use BAMBU filament, then the X1C might pull out ahead though. With the flexibility of the internal heating chamber as well as klipper firmware, this machine really is great. I am going to keep it for ABS and other high temp materials. This is not my daily driver. If you could ONLY have 1 printer for everything the X1C will win

    When you say that you wouldn't recommend the X-Plus-3 for PLA, do you mean that it doesn't work well for PLA or that its overkill for primarily PLA usage?

    • @ThePrintHouse
      @ThePrintHouse  Год назад +2

      It works very well, but it is way overkill, and the physical size of the machine makes it unwieldy to move and load filament. If you only print PLA, I think you will be happier with a K1 or a P1P.

    • @MattBieniek
      @MattBieniek Год назад

      @@ThePrintHouse That's good to know. I can deal with the size. Crealitys quality issues have turned me off them and Bamboo gives me Apple vibes so I was looking for something else.
      I have mainly used pla but with this printer I will probably find reasons to use different materials that will benefit from the chamber heater.

    • @stew675
      @stew675 Год назад +3

      Qidi have model on their support page that you can print which allows the filament holder to be mounted on the side. It's annoying that it's not that way from stock, but at least it's an easy fix.

    • @MattBieniek
      @MattBieniek Год назад

      @@stew675 I found the page and it appears to be a collection of user submitted spool holders. So I'll just stick with my original plan of running a tube from my current dry box to the loading point at the back of the unit.

    I have owned the X-Plus 3 for over six months (having previously owned the original X-Plus for several years). IMO, the X-Plus was a MUCH BETTER printer. Yes, the X-Plus 3 is faster. BFD. Half the parts off the X-Plus 3 are pure garbage. I mean absolute fails from attempts at simple parts with Qidi Tech supplied PLA. I wish I had kept my older model (given away as a gift). The X-Plus 3 also suffers from firmware issues. All in all, this machine has been nothing but frustration for me. It is a beta product that should have never been released for sale.
