Both Deebo and Kyle said that the idea on the TD was for Deebo to slow down at the snap so that it looked liked he wasn’t doing anything. Deebo specifically said that Kyle predicted it would be wide open. So 5D chess.
Genius
As we've seen on this channel in pretty much every Purdy video, Deebo doesn't go 100% when he's not getting the ball, so it makes sense the defense would assume he's not part of the play if he's jogging to the sideline like that
Yep, thought it was pretty obvious how it fooled the defense.
That play was nuts! Haven’t seen someone that open maybe ever.
yep definitely intentional. At least they said it was.
LOL the irony. The one thing JT gets upset about Deebo being lazy sometimes when Deebo knows its not going to him, Kyle uses it against the other team, cuz the other team watches film too.
Genius! 🤣😂
What if Deebos laziness was all to set up this one play
@@jobturkey7418 Lol that seems like Arthur Smith level of overthinking. We probably could have benefitted from Deebo hustling on the other plays.
I agree with JT though that that approach may work against the 3-win cardinals, but will it work against the Ravens?
It seems to me designing plays where your player is lazy isn’t what you might want to optimize for in your play design.
Yeah that’s making lemons out of lemonade for sure, my guy.
Against the Seahawks Purdy threw it to Deebo on a clearout route and Deebo admitted he had to kick it in gear to catch a TD pass he wasn’t expecting to go his way.
THAT’S Purdy’s genius in making defenders respect the threat even when Deebo isn’t selling the route AND a message to Deebo too.
Brock’s playing chess as well.
@@jobturkey7418they wouldn't waste that on Arizona, but defenses now can't assume Deebo isn't part of the play when he's not going 100%, so Deebo can save his strength and still be a decoy
What I continue to learn from the all-22: (1) Purdy plays at a very high level with below average PassPro and doesn't get credit for overcoming this team deficiency; (2) Aiyuk is REALLY underrated; and (3) Purdy has quickly, 1-by-1, developed great chemistry with all/each of his playmakers. .... Got my QB School Hat and wear it proudly!
Thanks, John
Gig Harbor, WA
love it.
Absolutely fantastic comment
I love the fact that Purdy doesn't throw hospital balls to his guys, he protects them by slowing them down like that one to Kittle. We see how dangerous it is out there like that Minshew pass.
"If its Darnold he's dropping that thing" freaking killed me. Great job man, good stuff.
Just watching the 3 possessions of darnold
@@Mannalon31 Not possesions, passes.
@@paulgaither Thank u newbie fan of nfl
On Manning cast last night, CMC said he thought Brock was getting sacked so he turned around instead of looking back over his shoulder and continuing the play.
Oh sht! Roast him, JT!
Not bad when brock uncharacteristically misses several chunk plays and still ends the day with 4 tuddys and a 130 passer rating
I’ve never seen a QB get critiqued for not being perfect on a weekly basis. That’s a good thing, it means he’s making things look too easy sometimes.
That is the point of this channel 🤷♂️
@@adidas4275 the sky is blue?
As a 49er fan I love these videos because it’s really balanced coverage of Brock. To me, what I have learned is that despite him playing great, he still has more to learn. It’s only his second year and I hope he’ll continue to grow and learn and make more big plays. They’re on the film so hopefully he’ll use that to improve.
This...
That’s what makes me so excited for him, he’s still learning, he’s already so good at reading defenses, imagine when he’s had a few years.
@@jaredhamilton2846 he’s the perfect QB for Shanahan IMO. Enough mobility to create plays, confidence to throw with anticipation, ability to read defenses. I just hope we can keep him healthy.
Literally the only reasonable take I've ever heard about Brock
This is exactly why I don't worry about Brock. We've had plenty of QB's come through here over the past 2 decades with varying degrees of arm strength, size, and foot speed. What we haven't had is someone who can read defenses this well and so consistently fire precision passes on time, with anticipation, and without the extra hesitation that leads to sacks or rushing throws that leads to interceptions. He is hitting the intermediate range tosses with more accuracy and consistency than any other 49er QB since at least Jeff Garcia, and he's only in his 2nd year (and first full year as starter). The comfort and timing and recognition of those deep passes can be learned, and arm strength (+5 yds or so) can easily be developed as he matures into his late 20's & 30's. Long term, I feel MUCH more confident in Brock Purdy's ability to learn how to identify and hit those deeper routes over the next 2-3 seasons (and without a bunch of INT's along the way) than I do in Jimmy G's or Trey's ability to learn over the next 2-3 seasons how to consistently throw an accurate 15-yd pass with into coverage, with anticipation, under pressure (without a bunch of INT's).
Deebo said in the press conference that the low effort was part of the design of the play
Kyle using Deebo’s low effort on tape to advantage is next level 4d chess.
@@Andrew.W.19or they told him in intentionally do that from the start
It reminds me of a play from a few years ago, 2018 I think, when they had Kittle fall down, then get up for a straight route for a touchdown. It's gotta make the guys so happy when Shanahan comes out of the lab with something fun.
@@nathanchildress5596they can't do this often, otherwise teams will begin to expect it, but yeah whenever Shanahan decides to get creative it makes some of the most devious plays in football 😂
Everyone would really believe that in Pittsburgh LOL
If a divisional opponent thinks Deebo is giving low effort they're already cooked before the game started
Re: CMC’s circus catch, he was on with the Peytons and said he turned and was backpedaling because he thought that Purdy was sacked or the play was blown, then surprised that Purdy tossed it at him!
That makes a lot of sense now! I thought Purdy just overthrew him by a mile!
I hate to admit it but I was one of those guys that claimed Brock was overrated when the season started. Brock has proved me wrong.
respect! you’re a true football fan.
Takes courage to admit when ur wrong i’m sure their will be many more with ur same story.. Respect 🫡
At least you are big enough to admit. Respect.
I think most people opinion on him is pretty accurate. He’s doing well in his system and is a good QB but would most likely struggle outside of the 49ers
Be proud my friend, you're doing something rare these days - adapting your opinion based on new/more info. Good for you
Aiyuk’s transformation has been crazy. His route running and his blocking have developed him into an elite WR (and the grades match the eye test, with an elite 92.0 PFF grade). He’s a legit top 10 WR.
I wouldn't all it development. For example, go watch the breakdowns from 2021 - including the Rams NFCC game. Man has been roasting defenders for years. The problem is that Jimmy was not good at throwing deeper shots (high ankle and other mechanical problems) and wouldn't pull the trigger on passes to Brandon down field. In 2022, many people had high hopes that Lance would allow Aiyuk to finally feast because we all knew what #11 was doing out there on film for years. Well, Brock is finally feeding our guy.
Better than Deebo in everything except base athleticism.
Watching Aiyuk week in and week out is a masterclass on route running.
Thank you for uploading the Brock Purdy quarterback review to RUclips.
Edit: On two separate podcasts both Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel discuss 49ers' football. Each one of them mention how in years past these types of routes they'd run knowing they weren't going to get the football and that they were clearing out the defense. Both of them said that now when they turn to check for the football it's headed for them. Deebo even said recently when he turned he saw Brock Purdy winding up to throw so he started picking up his speed to catch the deep pass to him. From their interview it's my perception they have spent years running routes they knew they weren't going to get the football but now with Brock Purdy as QB they're getting it. Perhaps they developed "bad habits" running slower in previous years with different quarterbacks? Anyway, I got the impression they were both excited about having Brock Purdy as their quarterback. In part I think because he opens up the game for them as wide receivers. On the one play top left where Deebo runs slower he mentioned in the 49ers' presser that the play was designed for him that way. My guess is so the defenders would bite the hook of the decoys opening up space.
Edit 2: I wanted to let you know while I don't belong to your Patreon community I make a point of liking a lot of your RUclips videos and I engage your RUclips account as a way of contributing.

appreciate ya. very cool comment.
That’s Brock forcing the defense to spread out. Shanny isn’t the only one playing chess on the niners IMO
Deebo said in post game that the plan was in fact to run that route lazy to make them think it wasn’t going there
4D chess.
the real 5D chess is to show this on film so teams will need to respect his lazy route and open up more routes down field
Kyle is smart.. subtlety calls out one of his top player's lazy habits and uses it to their advantage.. Now teams will have to respect Deebo 100% of the time..
Remember folks.. it's not what you say, it's how you say it.. Instead of calling out Deebo during film or whatever, he did this instead.. Pretty smooth. Sends a subtle message to the rest of the team that the coaching staff is watching, lol.
@@dre32pittyeah I thought that too, using a players weakness as a strength. Pretty smart.
Deebo just said during Kay Adams show that they ran it a few times in practice and he was wide open. Lol JTO just hates Deebo. My dude plays 2 roles(wr/rb) every game and gets trashed on for maybe going 85% every once in a while.
Love JTO's breakdown but dude has some weird takes. Not taking it personal but JTO complains about throws he could never make and most QB's wouldn't risk taking and I watched every snap JTO has played as a niner before anyone gets pissed. He should know how hard those are. The ones that he is upset at that really get me going are the ones where he is upset because Purdy didn't hold the ball longer for the next read. Every QB goes through progressions and lets it fly to the read that is open in order of the play call. If a QB holds the ball to try and chuck it to the their 3rd or 4th read in case they get open are going to get chewed out for not taking the read that was open prior.
JTO if you see this, maybe watch a little more post game interviews before you break down a game. You're hurting your own reputation when you say some of the things you say.
If that first play where Ayuik misses the ball is the worst we can say about Purdy then he is doing all right.
It was defended... the DB got his hand on it. You can see when he knocks it away it makes BA flinch.... just a few inches or a bit more air and that would have been home. But I agree BP is a damn blessing. He is the best QB to watch right now no question. This was not his best game but the crazy thing is how many points they are putting up and there is still room for improvement. That is insane to think it can get better.... not that it needs to, but it can...
@@joebahoma4469 agree. He is barely in his second year and coming off a major injury.
Seems like you have a bigger issue with Deebo than the coaches do
I love Brock so much, I don’t care about anything else other than him being our franchise guy. All 49er fans love Brock. Fuck an MVP. He wants to win multiple Super Bowls and I think he will.
@@jaredhamilton2846ive been sayi g all year this is the start of a new 49ers dynasty
Purdy is legit. His processing, fundamentals, anticipation, and accuracy make up for his average arm strength. So excited to have a good QB!
I have a feeling all those times Purdy doesn’t throw up top down field during the season is a big set up for the playoffs!! Lol he’s gonna ripping it down field because of the film t/o the season
🎯💯💯
I don't think Purdy has an average arm strength based on the many accurate 30-45 yard passes he's thrown in only 1-1/2 years of starting. When he needs to air it out like Brady, he goes at least 30!
@@knightu1642 when I say average arm strength. It’s more his ability to get velocity on the ball past 20 yards. Driving the ball through bad weather conditions and firing into a tight window at 30 yards, etc.
Not a big deal cause he does so much right, but it does mean that he has limitations. He won’t be able to do some of the things Mahomes & Allen & Herbert & Stafford do… but he’s got enough arm & he does everything else at a high level.
I've been following your channel all season JT and because of your expert analysis I've found myself understanding and enjoying football more than I ever have in the past. Great content, keep up the amazing work.
Much appreciated
@@TheQBSchool as someone following the NFL from Europe and never having played football. Its really exciting having these deep dives and explanations. Its a really valuable and enjoyable, professionally sounding perspective you are sharing here. Really much appreciated. I dont know why there is no actual show that goes into the film like you do. Instead its just talking heads screaming at eachother or here and there a single play shallowly analyzed.
So yeah i cant thank you enough for being a resource to getting a better understanding of the deeper elements of football.
@@Fremder92 Sadly the networks figured out that hot takes drive engagement. Those guys get us angry so we'll fight in the comments.
The most anticipated QB breakdown is here always great stuff
On the long CMC Touchdown, CMC said that he was just turning to see what happened on the play, that he thought purdy was sacked, even the center thought the play was done and he was sacked. Def was all on Purdys playmaking on that one
kyle just saving that corner bomb for the SB
Exactly my thought. Kyle is saving these routes for the biggest games. He's making teams wary about the stuff in front of them rather than the big shot.. I think they're going to find out.
that would be nice. i hope so
JT, I hope you know how much these vids mean to us as fans. Fantastic work.
Go Niners!
I think you can see from Ayuik's body language after he misses the deep ball that he knows he made a mistake looking back and that it was a very catchable pass ...
I think Purdy's touch has improved all his receiver's ability to make catches in an underrated way.
The amount of trust these dudes have in one another is really impressive.
The offense is ridiculously good. Dropped 38 points on them and left a ton of meat on the bone.
I wished Aiyuk would of 'looked up' for the ball on that really nice 'deep pass', probably a TD.
@@1ManncoI hope Aiyuk makes more diving catches in the playoffs. There are times when he is just a step or 2 behind where the ball is thrown
@@katstone780 Yeah I hope so too, he's good at those diving passes...Sometimes misses are on both of them. Brock sometimes throws a hair too far back where Aiyuk and Deebo, Kittle have to turn their body around and reach up and back for some passes..But on that one pass..Aiyuk was a step back of catching it, during his route he mostly looked level back at Brock. If he looked up a second or two earlier I think that would of been a TD. I think 49ers win Monday 30-20.
Finally someone else sees the set up that Kyle is making in the season. Laying traps for those that watch tape.
They said they planned deebo to act like that, I'm wondering if they're intentionally not throwing that deep pass he says brock ignores every😂 can't put anything passed them
@@brendanolivarez7031 - I'm starting to wonder that, too. He's shown enough passes that he CAN throw it, so he's not throwing it, and not throwing it, and not throwing it.....and then in Jan & Feb -- BOOM!!!
@@brianschwartz7937 yeup playing possum almost
To me the sloppiness from everyone is an indication of fatigue. I think they are all tired and banged up. The bye is very important
i thought of this channel when deebo had the first TD pass. kyle used the slow "laziness" that everyone complains about with deebo to make the defense forget about him. wide open TD, 4D chess for sure.
The defense bit on the PA because of Mason. We ALWAYS run when he comes in. Kyle's smart af
My exact thoughts after seeing that play live. This play forces future opponents to defend both the pass and the run when Mason is in.
Kyle just doing Kyle things. It is now on film that the ball can be thrown to a lazy Deebo and that it can be a pass play even when it's Mason in the backfield
I show my wife a lot of your videos because she wants to understand football more. Your doing a great job
McCaffrey was on MNF with the Mannings, and he said that on that wide open play, he was turned around because he thought Purdy had been sacked and the play was over, so that's why he was facing the wrong way to catch it in stride.
If you watch the first meeting between them you can see where the impetus for that walk-in TD play was. The LBs reacted to the play action the same exact way when they saw Deebo half-assing it. Great game planning
I respect how he’s objective and will praise and critique when honestly needs to be
Tyreek does that all time time. If he motions fast, he’s not getting the ball, if he motions lazily, he’s the primary receiver on the play
Exactly. If you are in fact gettin the ball on a play the last thing you want to do is cause attention to yourself.
There's definitely some intentional trickery in this offense, but whether or not that would be more or less effective than simply running the plays at 110% is hard to say. One of the fair criticisms of Kyle throughout his coaching career is that he can sometimes act a little too clever for his own good.
I've been secretly hoping for a Drew Lock v. Eagles video from JT... but I'm definitely happy to watch another Brock Purdy analysis! (..."I'll get what I get and don't throw a fit!") 😂😂😂
J.T. is hands down the best NFL content out there.
FACTS!!! 🏆
Worth noting the Cards rushed 2 and dropped 9 into coverage on that off schedule to Kittle. Makes it even more impressive!
Practice the deep corner throw and save it in games for the playoffs.... Wreck a team in the NFC championship game or superbowl with it!
I both agree and disagree. I don't think they are saving plays, but I also think that - when push comes to shove - Brock will be encouraged ot take those shots going into the playoffs on those must have moments. I would like to imagine that is something they work on each week for consistency and accuracy.
Hey JT, love the videos.
Just letting you know that the Purdy flip where he got smoked was indeed a penalty.
Obviously opposing teams think the same as JT: that Deebo doesn't run when it's not his play. So Kyle had him deke them. They all immediately said that was the design of the play. The result was everyone over-commited to the run andDeebo was left unguarded.
Another thing about it is that now that teams know about the decoy, they will cover Deebo more closely when he does go out slower in the future, opening up the other playmakers more. Running routes on the football field is tiring. Reserving your strength for the plays where you are going to be getting the ball is not all bad.
In a way Deebo’s “gears” make him even harder to guard because he can accelerate so quickly, he just runs away from people and scores TDs.
YAAAAASSS. Thank you for the awesome film breakdown as always J.T.!
Chase Daniel lost his mind over that Debo back shoulder TD. It was pretty spectacular.
“Maybe that says more about my own issues”… JT, I love your channel so much!😂😂😂
Truth hurts sometimes.
Been waiting for this! Thanks Coach!
I'm really glad that Purdy understands when he takes a hit to the head he needs to act injured so he gets checked out I guarante The other players told him that they rather him sit out for a couple downs than him out for a few games, That deep pass to the pylon to debo was beautiful like oh my god probably one of the most beautiful dots I've ever seen this year
One of the many things learned from the losing streak
Great vid JT. In that second-to-last play, the incomplete to 85, was punched solidly by 24. On close up, 85 gets good hands on it, really just a great effort by 24 on D. Really enjoy your stuff!
I mean, until he actually throws the pick six on the out route, it doesn’t super matter how hard he throws it. He literally never misses that throw. At least this season, he’s thrown that ball better than everyone.
I think the staff saw the same thing you did on the first missed deep ball judging by how Purdy made the adjustment (put more air under the ball) for the second deep ball. You were 100% correct on the Aiyuk assessment on that play. I think we'll see the connection in the remaining games improve. It's clearly not a talent gap, just seems like they weren't on the same page this game.
Awesome analysis. I really appreciate the effort you put into these videos.
That first throw to Aiyuk was right on the numbers.
too flat imo
Like he said. Flat. . The DB got is hand in there. If he put air on it the ball goes over the DBs hand and into Aiyuks fingers
@@TheQBSchoolit was definitely flat. Still took a great play from the defender but if it's a better throw the defender couldn't make the play at all
Some receivers will be just a hair later putting their hands up for the ball and not allow the DB to get his hand in there. BA is incredible, and I bet he will work on the technique too.
Close...it was a little flat and a yard short b/c Aiyuk had to slow down on that last step, turn his body around cus the ball was on the chest and the guy put his hand up and tipped it. A yard further with some air and it's perfect and maybe a TD.
This offense has NEVER had a deep ball threat before so it has to be quite an adjustment for the WR because now they have to run every route expecting the ball. Jimmy wpuld have never tried Aiyuk on that deep ball so I assume Aiyuk is still not used to looking for the ball on routes at that depth. But thats what I love so much about Brock in this offense, we finally have the capacity for explosive shots down field🙌🏼
I agree with you. I think they're being continually amazed at Purdy on a weekly basis simply because they're not ready for some of those deep anticipation throws. By the time they're open it's already halfway there lol. Shits crazy, but knowing the potential is there is amazing to see.
I love your breakdowns! I look forward to your videos every week. Keep up the great work. Your videos have the best breakdown by far than anyone else around.
Great takes as always, JT. I've even started saying, "who's who in the zoo". Regarding that back pylon throw: maybe it's not part of his game yet. He threw an excellent back shoulder, pylon ball to Deebo for a TD! Counting from the Miami game last season and excluding Philadelphia, Purdy has played in 22 games. That's barely over one season. I'm sure you know that he's still learning and developing as a QB. It's scary to think that he's probably going to be the NFL MVP and very well the Super Bowl MVP at the age of 23!
The fact they had more imperfections than normal this week and the offense still put up 38 points is hilarious
It's crazy how good this offense is ... and yet, there's a lot more efficiency they can squeeze out of things. They could be putting up 50 every game.
Yep. BA is open all the time and doesn't get enough throws, probably because he is often the pylon guy. It goes back to what JT was saying about the missing dimension of the deep pylon pass. Brock will get there, of that I have no doubt.
@@scottp8952 I have some doubts, honestly. He keeps getting better in so many ways but that's not guaranteed for everything. It may take more time and his arm strength has already improved. Hopefully he can get there because ... damn what an offense that would be.
I have to limit my complaints about BA not getting the ball enough because I have him on my fantasy team, but oh my god he is wide open almost every single play, it's crazy. I'm very optimistic about the future of the offense even after we pay Brock. That extra 5% would make this an all-time great offense.
It could also be the OL not giving Brock enough time for the pylon ball, that also plays a part. Offseason that should be the priority.
I was wondering how he missed that throw to #10 Bell, now i see what you mean, the stepping on the toe, gives that lil bleep that makes him throw to the left just a smidge
Thanks JT... I always always always learn something watching your analyis
As always, great analysis. Love your videos.
opening my eyes to the plays!!! thanks for breaking down the plays!!!
Great content as always!
Purdy has been throwing it deeper every game. Maybe later in the season or next year, he’s more willing to hit those long balls. He’s been improving a lot during the season as it is.
Part of the equation is how bad do we need the back pylon deep ball. When we really really got to have it it'll be available.
Please do not be too obsessd with long ball. It takes longer time to develop long pass. In other words, Purdy can and will get sacked if he the play takes longer to develop.
@@jerry171460For real. Not like he's being protected by the Eagles oline
Appreciate the fast turnaround as always JT. Sorry but its just so "must watch" content that Im thankful for how quickly you get it out..much like Purdy lol
The QB School gets a A this week. Great analysis.
Thanks
oh boy it’s time for my weekly brock purdy analysis
Yessss! Thanks JT!
Awesome breakdown sir
At 17:32, you need to point out that Cardinals dropped 9 into coverage and the middle of the field is full of defenders. Purdy's instincts tell him not to throw there, regardless of whether the guy is actually open, because he's worried he's not seeing something.
That's the key to Purdy's off-schedule plays: he not only does it when his coverage breaks down, but when the opponent throws a weird look at him. He instinctively knows they're trying to set a trap for him, so he evades the trap by doing something they can't possibly plan for.
5:44 Kyle is taking advantage of the lazy routes by Deebo when he doesn't get the ball that you and probably everyone in the league noticed. It is 5D chess, and they've been setting it up all season.
9:05 Kyle is saving the corner post for later. Brock did not suddenly forget how to read leverage in scheme, or suddenly lose vision on the intermediate part of the field. That said, the sticky coverage on Deebo should have dictated the ball going somewhere else on that play. That said, if Deebo made sharper cuts he could have had better separation. That said, Deebo simply does not have the agility of a much lighter BA. BA is far more agile due to body type and makes much sharper cuts.
12:46 Brock took a helmet to the head. Why is that not a penalty?
14:43 Banks right foot hit Brendel's left foot. The Center was tripped by the Guard. Banks moved to counter the stunt motion by #93.
26:38 After the game, team said CMC had the option to go upfield if the defender sat. It was designed.
27:00 The backpedal was because he could not see the ball clearly at first.
27:27 Notice that CMC is staring inside before he jukes outside. Designed play.
28:40 This was a rare case where Brock and BA were not on the same page. Agree BA messed up. The ball was at the right time and spot.
35:22 Brock threw it low to keep it away from the defender.
That throw to Kittle around the 18 minute mark was exactly the kind of thing I feel like all these haters don't seem to understand. Like you said, that's elite playmaker out of structure stuff. You have to be on some timestream altering Chrono zaza to see that throw in that window off schedule and all the throws like it and go "oh, that's game manager layups"
I knew the effort of 19 would be called into question here as soon as I saw the replay of that TD :D
Very interesting, thanks
CMC said he was peddling because he didn't see brock, and though it was a sack, but then he saw the ball in the air. He said it on the MNF with the Peytons.
I look foward to your videos
I thought Drew Brees improved his "arm strength" over the course of his career. Do you think Purdy can do that with improved mechanics or something? It does seem like he could add just a bit more downfield throwing to his game to really put himself as one of the best.
Already has bro, Purdy has thrown the most deep completed passes 20 + and 40 + passes in the NFL this season
Seems the exercises he is doing for his arm recovery increases his arm strength a little
Purdy even screamed on that first play, knowing he should have had it. That heel click doesn't always get you, but it often does. Can't always be perfect.
Buddy Purdy MVP
Brock Purdy keeps dealing and so do you! 👏
Love your videos JT, been lurking on your channel for the last year watching and learning, great knowledge from a former Pro. I'm a big niner fan and remember your time with the team back in 2008 under Mike Nolan when I think it was Jim Hostler and then Mike Martz as OC. Those were some crazy years, would be cool if you could be a coach on the team at some capacity.
thanks for the support and comment. not sure the coaching life is for me.
@@TheQBSchool I think it would be cool if Brock watched your breakdowns. Maybe somebody will ask him?..don't know if he'd admit it if he did, lol.
“If ifs and buts were candy and nuts then we’d all have a merry Christmas” never heard that before …
I only have 1 comment. That last TD back shoulder to Deebo, I recognized that play. If you look at JTO's week 13 Analysis, SF@PHI, timestamp is 27:15 ... that was a quick out route to Jennings, and he broke it for a TD. On this play, AZ did not blitz, so Purdy had enough time for that route to develop to the pilon. On that Philly play, it was cover 0 all out blitz, so Purdy chose the quickest out. Put those 2 plays side by side, (and you'll also see Kittle sit in the middle 10 yards down field, Aiyuk up top, CMC helped block on the cover 0 Philly blitz, where as CMC went out to the flat b/c AZ wasn't blitzing), and you can see the greatness of this team. They do exactly what they are supposed to do. The O line holding up, the receiver routes, the QB read. It's such a treat to watch this team play, and score on the same exact play with a different read and a different receiver.
I want to show some love for the awesome offensive line. These guys are great
the mvp of the league. purdy
6:23 I don't know why but I busted out laughing at the "5D Chess" line 😂🤣🤣
Mr. J.T. O'Sullivan and staff bringing the best intro for NFL content today! Love it every time I watch your videos!
Oh, your analysis is also purdy good.
Like others said, Deebo's touchdown was designed with laziness in mind lol. What's even funnier? Had Deebo not been open it looks like beneath him Aiyuk was pretty wide open too! Just not as wide open. Great design all around.
5:09 I know Deebo said the purpose of that route was to be lazy and run it half speed, but If you notice he does that on a lot of routes where he's suppose to clear or is the last in the progression. I'm gonna doubt he's supposed to run all of them at half speed. So I totally see where JT is coming from.
Then Ayuk analysis at min 28:05 was commented on during the game as Ayuk loosing sight of the ball due to the open stadium roof -- Ayuk lost sight of it against the sky according to the game comment.
interesting. i don't know what 11 saw. cool that they do. commentary seems like a tough gig
was not a purdy believer at the beginning of the season, thinking he was just another guy, but the production so far this season has changed my mind fs
He is just like Joe Montana. He very cool under pressure and he doesn't let talking heads get to him.
I just don’t understand how people could watch all the games last year and not see he’s not your average joe.
lol @ that pass pro on the reception to juice. lol.
Respect. Debo is just that much of a baller. Everyone knows 19 doesn’t always give his best efforts, and the 49ers are aware of that too and showed it by making a touchdown play. 49ers are letting opponents know that they know.
Yeah, they did in fact confirm that he was supposed to look lazy there. If you think about it, they’re just taking advantage of the things you’ve been talking about. Surely other teams are seeing Deebo’s route running when he’s not getting the ball as much as you are, so for the Niners to exploit that on that play is super smart but it’s not shocking.
My immediate thought in real time on that Deebo TD was that he'd get called out on QB School for jogging so slowly, and then wondering if he was starting to play into that trope so that he'd come across to the defense as an "obvious decoy." I don't know either way, but it is funny to see all of that playing out now
With Purdy being *this good* I really look forward to JT's videos!
When I saw Deebo's TD in real time I couldn't help but think of all the comments you've made on 19 not going full out on all his routes and felt like it finally paid off! Was excited to hear your commentary. lmao😂
9:45 I think even kittle was available for a pass too, but hopefully purdy sees film and realizes hes got these deep pass options just throw it!
I think Shanahan and Purdy are saving the deep balls for the playoffs and Super Bowl.
Love your takes JT. Think you’d be a great addition to any coaching staff. I’ve been commenting we haven’t yet seen Purdy’s ceiling because his learning is so steep. I now think we’re reaching his ceiling because he
Iterally has little room to grow. We are at Manning, Rogers, Montana peak levels already. He needs to show he can do it season after season, but for right now, he’s the #1QB.
