Had RE1R had normal controls, 2 grown men wouldn't have lost their shit in the dark, tossing the joystick to one another & saying "take it. I can't handle it!"
Why? Why people say they aren't smooth? They are the smoothest you get with 4 buttons. They are faaaarr smoother than whatever alternative scheme is in re1remake. You run towards the camera, it switches 180, you try to adjust and now you run back where you came from. That's what modern controls do to fixed camera gameplay.
Oh, I get it. I had this experience once. I don't remember where, but I had it and I think I know where complaints come from. Please make sure to use d-pad/keyboard for tank controls if possible. I know how clunky it is on a joystick.
Please don't confuse bad camerawork with art. There's intention behind always hiding what's ahead and choosing bad angles. Although sometimes - yes, RE series take it too far with hiding things.
Resident Evil controls are masterful. And RE2 had that quick turn, don't remember if it was there on PS1 too, but surely on the PC Edition
Resident evil 1 remake was so good man

he’s back!
Thank you, thank you! I’ll be back again… in a few months? Dunno. Wish I was faster at making these. I have a bunch of good video ideas tho!

I like it when they hide things! Very spooky, very fun.
