I feel like a lot of the bosses were “cuter” in this title. Not that they were better designed than Seasons mind you, but that other than a few standouts, nearly every boss in this half could be described as “just a lil guy”
Couple fun things you didn't mention: Falling in the holes in the Swoop fight sends you to the floor below, you have to reenter the room like Moldorm. You can damage Pumpkin Head by throwing the pumpkin at the ghost.
You know, I only played OoA for the first time early this year, but I already forgot about some of these bosses. I do think Mogriff in EoW is supposed to be a callback to Subterror. The mole concept and his move set are too similar to be a coincidence. I agree with your pick of Ramrock. I admit it took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out his final phase. Great work!
Ramrock, Shadow Hag, and Smog are my favorite bosses in Ages. Smog was really interesting and a nice change of pace to the typical slash away at the bad guy tactics
For the Ganon fight, I kept getting murked until I equipped the Heart ring that made any hit you take only drain a single Heart. And for the Ramrock fight, him going to PHASE FECKIN' 4 was enough to make me regret some life choices. Then I was like 'SO THIS IS WHERE THE DUNGEON ITEM IS USED.'
BUT WITHOUT Save states the Goran Dance mini game for me is 100% impossible and you can't even enter the 5th dungeon in Ages without doing that crappy mini game.
Blue Stalfos could have been better if you used the switch hook to trade places with him and get him hit by his own attack. Sure you just did that for the level 7 boss but there is no way you are gonna get hit by that ball of energy w/o doing that at end game unless you do it on purpose or something. And that was underwater with slower balls of energy and no fake out balls so it is sort of different enough I guess. Veren's Dark Fairy form has 3 phases to it funny enough but you chances are never notice the change in her move set besides getting faster because of the low amount of health she has. The Cane of Somaria isn't used enough so I'd make its blocks it be the only thing that hurts Veren's fairy form if I was gonna do this tbh. The game appears to mock you if you get hit by these 2 attacks by turning you into a baby as well funny enough but you'd have to be pretty novice to make it to these points and get hit by these attacks IMO.
Growing up I preferred Ages, but the one argument against that was Smog. I hate, HATE, that boss with all the passion I have for the Zelda franchise. And hearing you say he's in Echoes of Wisdom gives me horrific flashbacks. He's not even that hard! Just frustrating and time-consuming and everything Zelda bosses aren't.
Why does nobody throw the pumpkin back at the spirit? Yeah it'll give it's body back immediately but it does so much more damage to the boss and kinda trivializes the fight
"It is entirely luck based if you get a good cycle [on Head Twomp]." False. Since the faces roll in a completely fixed order it's all about the timing. You can also just bash the tar out of Octogon with your sword when he turns to shoot you. Ganon has the same armor as Onox, but the Master Sword can just smack through it without charging. Ganon is actually easier in Seasons because of having the Roc's Cape, and a funny thing is that a Master Sword spin attack with the Red Ring can stun Twinrova in a single hit.
I think it’s a combination of both timing and luck. There have been times where I defeated Head Thwomp in about two minutes and others where it takes over thirty minutes.

Smasher truly is "just a lil guy".

I saw number one coming a mile away, and I always felt the same way playing these games.

Ramrock is the OG Talus and *should've* had more representation in later Zelda games.
