    Thank you Captain for this absolutely amazing explanation. It makes each the FCOM much simpler and easier to understand.

    Nice. Just adding that the GRAD corrections are ONLY used when OAT< to the temperature of the first line (highest weight) as stated in FCOM PER-TOF-TOC-18-10:
    ..."In some cases, it may happen that the first temperature value (displayed for the highest weight entry)
    is higher than OAT. In this case, it is allowed to extrapolate the weight value to avoid unnecessary
    penalty. Use the Grad 1/Grad 2 gradients provided at the bottom of the corresponding column."
    this is to get a better MTOW. The A4 as not enough space to put all the weight/temperature info so we have to extrapolate :)

      All correct.

    Since our structural MTOW is less than the performance MTOW, do we carry on the takeoff with 146/47/48 as our final speeds from this chart?

    well, first of all thanks for the great efforts for explaining this....second, How to calculate the V speeds at any given RWY? Should we have those charts? if yes, where could we find them?
    Thanks in advance

    • @poh
      @poh  5 лет назад +1

      These are the charts which help you find v speeds, it will be specific to a runway and intersection. You cannot find them anywhere, it is given by the company.

    Can you please make a video tutorial on how to compute for the landing distance using the QRH? I've been searching on youtube and google but i can't find a really good explanation or video. It would really help a lot if you did. Thanks sir!

      +Justin Basco I will be doing that too. Just stay tuned in and subscribed, you'll automatically get notification when the video is uploaded. :)

    Just wondering, if we could use a chart with more Temperature Options.? Like i have been using the Runway Analysis charts from APG, for Airbus A318 and Embraer E190, we have option to select "full temperature". If we select it, it will produce the chart with -20 Degree or so to all the way upto 50 Degree. So we can avoid painful calculation of Grad.?

    • @poh
      @poh  7 лет назад

      +jesil rahman Yes you can use that, grad correction won't be applied then. Simple as that. 🙂

    Hi, What if the GRAD1/GRAD2 correction is given as ****/****. what does this mean?

    • @poh
      @poh  5 лет назад +2

      If ***/*** is given it means no grad corrections can be applied because the temperature in the box at the top in the same column is way below TREF to be able to add any weight to compute MTOW.

    sir why didn’t you do a speed check after two steps?

    • @poh
      @poh  9 месяцев назад

      It's not needed because you anyway can't go below minimum speeds.
