  • It seems most of the AKM ammo currntly available is either Barnaul or Tula, but not everyone writes that info on the boxes
    also, found out that TulaAmmo actually contains two ammo factories, one in Tula TPZ and another in Ulyanovsk. UPZ
    Thank you for watching!

    Wolf and Tula had a falling out years ago which is why Tula did their own thing and why the brand Tulammo exists. For what it is worth if you buy Wolf Military classic it is going to be Barnaul and Wolf black box is going to be Klimovsk. Red Army standard would either be Tula or Ulyanovsk but the Red box stuff would be Vympel. Same with Golden Tiger.

      Thanks. Though we are likely to not be able to get any more of these due to current events

      I just bought a case of Wolf and the headstamp says Tulammo. The black boxes say Tula cartridge works on them with the Tula markings on the box too.

      Wolf imported some Tula ammo, I had some of those as well. However it can also be either actual Tula factory or made at Ulyanovsk ammo factories

    25 years ago I bought some very nicely packaged Russian 7.62x39mm FMJ. It was a brown vacuum sealed plastic bag (yellow numbers) with 12 boxes of (20).. When opened, the ammo boxes looked much like the Red Army Standard boxes in your video. Perfectly Dry, Clean, painted primers and crimps. Very strong bags, very durable. Very nicely packaged. Lots of paper, lol. Durable and very strong. Excellent quality ammo..
    You almost needed four Spetnaz and Lion to chew the bags open. 🤠🤠🤠🤠 lol

      That is what they train bears to do in Russia, to tear open packages.

    Tula is the least favorite of the noncorrosive steel case ammo but I'll still buy it if the price is right. At $11 a box, I can get brass at a local LGS for two-dollars more.

    • @PracticalWeapons
      @PracticalWeapons  2 года назад +1

      Yep, and online prices are dropping bit but bit. Honestly I buy at LGS more to support them and to be an actual customer vs just someone that comes and leaves without spending money. Online same ammo is $6-7 per box

    I am betting the 122gr even with the sealed primer is like the rest of the black box Wolf 122gr, TulAmmo! IMO, Barnaul ammo of the Russian steel cased is the most consistent velocity and accuracy wise with lowest standard deviations on 5 and 10 round samples when chronographed.

      I would agree, the only one better might be the Hornady black, but it is impossible to find.

      @Random Russ I agree, the 7.62 was garbage. The primer casing was so hard I had to reload it to get it to fire.. and even that was a maybe.... half didn't go off. Same with arsenal global ordinance
