Mr morale
the hole thins is like way to fucking long...
Please don't buy Raycon earbuds. Research them carefully and support SkillUp another way.
Reminder DO NOT BUY RAYCON. They are scams, there are much cheaper and MUCH BETTER earbuds out there that will actually sound good, and be made well.
This feels like ~ top down view of opposite Dying Light ~ as U hunt in the night and sun kills u this game design is kinda becoming my favorite genre. I'll buy this one right now thanks SHILL UP ~ keep SHILLING 🤣
I had never even heard of this before now, but you've definitely made me want to check it out
Not being able to reach 60 FPS is an oof though.
Stunlock absolutely knows arena combat. I had 1500 hours in battlerite, it absolutely was one of my most memorable titles of the last 10 years
I saw the trailer from earlier today pop up randomly and now I cant stop thinking about playing here in a few hours.
@@HappyZavulon I average 130FPS on a Ryzen 9 590X and AMD Raden RX 6800 XT (which is slightly faster than a 3080). so I think skillup just got unulucky.
Anyone: So what do you think of V Rising?
Me: Yes
LMAO I get it!!!!!! This is the first time I'm seeing this comment and it's original and funny and I can't get enough!!!!! More comments like this please!!!!!
Silly peoples: You like these jokes?

Sorry dude. I totally turned off your video to watch Shill-up's. I'm going back to watch yours right now I promise.
@@BloodLegaZ did you really have to say that?
Watched your vid this morning. Was already convinced by you to get it.
The sun damage system is exactly what it feels like to be a ginger.
I like that they have spears. It feels like most games don't add spears for some reason and I love them.
spears are the best
Spears are the most survival weapon of all time, yet no one seemed to get the memo
Or how many games have spears as just weird re-skinned swords or worse than swords in every way. Not enough games make small amounts of spacing feel valuable enough to justify spears, or they just do too much to push players into swords.
First game that always pops in my head when i see spears mentioned is Morrowind. Which is kinda awful, because the combat in the game itself was rather poor. Still.
i guess im basic for preferring swords/greatswords, but spears are literally the king of battle back when gunpowder didnt exist, more games should have them.
This might be the first survival game I actually play. Seems like a great premise that might rip me away from the love/hate relationship of LOL...
Should try Valheim tbh
Valheim is sensational
wow, this sentence resonates with me so well lol. I really hope it can give me enough of the league crack plus the things i liked about Valheim
I was never a fan of survival games myself; they just don't appeal to me, but from what I've seen of this game and from the video i might just check it out, since i am taking a small break from FFXIV and need something else game wise to take up my spare gaming time.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild is considered a survival game.
Wow the combat actually does look really fun. Really hope they sort out the performance issues before full release. Definitely gonna check this out. Thanks ShillUp! Love ya work, mate!
From Weird West to this, is this the start of some kind of genre-bending isometric revolution?
Nah, its lack of big games. People are scouring for new ones so finding more indie games.
Agreed. IMO Weird West was ambitious only paled by lack of big budget.
One can only hope
Game industry kinda hit the bottleneck.
I don’t think weird west was very good this looks so much better and where have you been isos have been back forever pillars of eternity divinity 1 and 2 and another baldurs gate the ascent came out last year Diablo 2 got resurrected. Oh don’t forget the wasteland series so many amazing ones have come out the past couple of years.
Getting this tomorrow! Thx for the insightful video. This has me super excited!
This review really nailed a few of the things that finally made this game click with me when I finally got to play with friends vs solo.
1) After beating the first few bosses we all found we preferred different abilities e.g. I liked the DoT ability vs my friend who liked the AoE.
2) Other friend is really into the different blood buffs.
3) Other friend is just into being a mf'ing vampire.
4) I'm more into seeing how the weapon abilities develop and hope they add more depth and customisation to that.
Thanks for introducing this game to me! Looks like a fantastic blend of all the games me and my friends have enjoyed playing over the years. As usual, amazing content being pumped out by the Shill Up team, love ya guys
This has been on my radar for quite some time now and it's looking awesome even at this unfinished stage. Barring any major mishaps i'll definitely pick this one up when it's fully released.
The hit effects look sooo satisfying -- something that other survival RPGs don't have
lol , game looks crap and awful

I got this game yesterday and I am so happy with it. Valheim, V rising and Subnautica and outstanding blends of the survival genre and for the ladder two I feel the lack of procedural makes it better
Early access done right is one of the most elusive yet enjoyable experiences
hearing SkillUp repeatedly say Raziel so joyfully throughout the video is the gift that keeps on giving.

I've been following this and everything I see gets me more and more excited. I cannot wait to play!
Seeing continuous gameplay like this makes me so much more interested than after I watched their trailer. The fact you like it has flipped my interest back to "interested".
I have to say you're one of three youtube channels that I trust most. In the X amount of years of watching you stuff you have never let me down. I haven't alway bought the game you speak well of but if i'm on the fence of picking it up I wait till your review/impression video come out as a Deciding factor. Thank you.
The mark of a good early access is that the game is already worth its price. Ever since I was young I've been modding games to have this kind of playstyle, starting with minecraft. Now I have the game version of that plus extras, absolutely awesome job from the devs
This looks awesome, thanks for bringing it to our attention. I've played Battlerite but didn't know this was in development at all. Totally checking this out on Day 1!
Having a blast in this game right now. For $20 it's an easy buy.
I found myself a remote plateau where I'm building my castle, still exploring which buffs I get from drinking from what kind of enemy.
With my 3070 I get around 70 FPS by the way, although there are occasional hiccups.
I saw some small mention of this game... can't remember where a whole ago. Knowing you're now "on the case" makes me happy cause that means I'll pretty much know for certain whether to get it or not when it eventually releases.
Glad to see a studio you like succeeding, absolutely loved Battlerite and Royale. Been following this game for ages
Cheers to you and Austin for the video bub - much love, stay safe and take care x
This looks great. I usually don't go for the MMO games or the top down action (Diablo style) games.
But this looks really interesting and fun.
If you're interested in an older top down action game, Xanadu NExt is fantastic. I've never been a huge fan of this style of game either but I played that one recently and it kept me glued til I beat it. If you've any interest in Zelda or Souls games type of exploration and level design, then that game's quite similar. Soundtrack is another highlight
Hope this game does good, been waiting for it since day 1, getting it tomorrow, great video btw giving us an insight on what we all need to know.
After playing this game all the way and then finishing off killing the final boss feeling extremely accomplished taking him on solo. This game is fantastic, i took my time going through it, there was no rush to get the bosses done and it was just fun. I'm not much of a grinder but this game didn't bother me at all and more so relaxed me since there was no rush to do anything. One day i was saying okay im going to chop wood down kind of day, other days stone or me getting distracted going into a camp to see what kind of loot i could get. other days i would explore and gather , then be ballsy trying to hit a super high level boss down when they were distracted fighting a enemy npc, other days minding my own buisness then having a jumpscare and screaming my head off ,tail tucked between my legs running from a 'skull' boss who happened to walk up on me. Honestly? when i was getting near the end of the bosses that we could defeat so far, I surprised myself when i kept thinking to myself " even when i finish... i want to do it again and start over." this game has been a blast and i do hope it succeeds.
see you next year on full release ^^
for me Dyson Sphere is a very polished at early access release, a different genre I know released by 5 devs in a near perfect play state
What have you done!!! We’ve (staff) all bought it and already stuck 16 hours in… this Early Access is already better than most AAA released recently.
Thank you so much for the recommendation!
I’ve been so hyped for this game. Thanks Skill Up for giving this the media coverage it deserves
I've been following this game for a while and I can't wait to finally try it out, great review as always!
I love it when I get super excited about a game and it turns out to be as good as I hoped.
wow this vampire game looks really cool, I can't believe this is kind of like diablo over the top action game, mixed in with survival elements. would love to play this, haven't played a survival game since valheim and that was pixeled graphics, this looks really good!
Why do people always assume everything with an isometric view is like diablo? It's nothing like it.
Looks more like a twin stick shooter than a Diablo game.

I’m so happy that indie companies are making amazing games in a industry where Triple A games are releasing garbage slot machines.
Valheim and now V Rising!
Also really excited for Sons of the Forest and Nightingale.
If you enjoy only indie games that's fine, don't trash other games to price the ones you like most
@@johnf.r6658 Fuck that. Triple A has been consistently doubling down on minimum viable products that are buggy and broken at launch with the promise that they will eventually fix them and fill them with content. They often don’t even manage that. There are some triple A games that are good, but a majority are overpriced and underbaked and still expect you to shell out for a battle pass or loot boxes or xp boosters and gun skins. Triple A deserves every ounce of hate it gets.

Best thing about the Mace Q is that you don't have to smash the mace down in the same direction you're leaping in.
You can totally leap behind a dude and just as you're coming down, you can turn it around and whallop him in the back. It's GREAT. I LOVE the Mace.
Wasn't aware of this game, and it looks very interesting. I love vampires, and love isometric views. Not a fan of multiplayer PvP, but I like that you can do PvE and play solo.
Will have to check it out.
Let us know if solo is worth playing
@@whocares8269 So first hour after release , all the server are full even the dedicated one so i have no choice but to play solo and i must said that the solo experience is really good if not even better that multiplayer , you would have the time to learn the game before jumping on a PVP or PVE coop server
Here’s hoping that, if it’s any good, there will be decent coverage when it actually comes out.
You know, when most people would want to play it.
Too many games do the early access thing, where you either play a bit of an unfinished game now, or you never hear about it when it’s ostensibly finished ~2-10 years from now.
The thing with V rising is that if they didn't call it EA no one would suspect that it is an unfinished product. It already has a huge amount of content, progression is really smooth (first bosses are very simple as well as building, but as you progress everything gradually becomes more intricate and complex), almost absence of bugs, the only things to be fixed really are performance that shall be worked on and memory leak on some devices.
The expanse books and show are amazing. You should make a video on it some time, more people need to know about the series!
Greatvideo, I'm kinda sad how Battlerite died, but I can't entirely blame the studio. Trying to keep a game like Battlerite alive as a small studio is a pretty gargantuan task if it's not an initial huge hit like League of Legends. Battlerites core gameplay was mechanically very solid, most of the issues came from everything around it and choosing to focus on the Battle Royale craze.
I don't have full confidence it'll be some huge hit I'll be playing 5 years from now, but I'm confident I'll easily get 20 bucks worth of fun out of this game even if the online eventually dies because the PvE looks fun and I like this kind of gameplay + making my own builds.
You can very much blame the studio. They fucked up on the marketing immensely. They had a huge hype when they released the EA version, but then they wasted all that by waiting an entire year to get out of early access despite the game being perfectly fine.
Royale wasn't even the issue.
@@kingoffools185 That's false and unfair, the game issue was player retention. It's was just the kind of game, which can't able to keep casuals and very hard to get in for new players. They done mistakes, but ultimately, the game would fail anyway.
I'm a big vampire fanboy, so I've been interested in this. Great to hear positive early impressions, but yeah, I'll wait at least a little while before investing in it. Especially hoping they do something to spice up that exploration. I'll be keeping my eye on it for sure, though.
holy shit, the way you can dodge telegraphed attacks is something i wished for years in isometric games
its either exclusively used for bosses or for third person games, everyone sticks to diablo click n spam instead
it's one of the main reasons why Hades is so damn good
One game that did this surprisingly well was the Marvel Heroes arpg. That game deserved better
I love how i was talking to a friend about the game, JUST as you uploaded this.
Wait... so it's a isometric vampire survival game with ARPG combat and MMO features? This seems like a dream game, have to check it out.
Since I’ve watched this I’ve put 30+ hours into a server and have had a blast honestly pretty surprising how finished this game is already. Also feel like vampire games are starting to get big
Redfall out here proving you wrong
This game actually looks pretty great! I've been excited to see it for a while!
...Unfortunately, these devs have hurt me before.... you see, Battlerite (And Bloodline Champions before it) were some of my favorite games. I even paid up for some of their seasonal loot box thingies, to fund further development! And then... they made a fucking battle royale mode that no one wanted, instead of further developing their arena mode with more maps and champions and events. And then they tried to shove a bunch of ass mechanics from that failed battle royale mode into the main arena mode. They basically killed their own game with dumbass trend chasing and poor decisions. And I loved that game man....
But still... I think I will check out V rising. I'll always remember how these morons killed Battlerite though.
I hope they've learned their lesson.
Yeah, I'm just like you. Battlerite was awesome and the killed it. I'm seeing way more cover for V so maybe the game wont need trend game modes tu succeed? Here is hope
Yeah I've seen marketing and people (including skillup) say stuff like "from the makers of battlerite" and I'm like "that's a bad thing not a good thing". Battlerite had so much potential and was so fun. I'm almost as jaded at these guys as I am at uber entertainment for killing Super MNC.
I don't immediately hate every battle royale ever but it's just pathetic how every publisher thinks slapping a basic half arsed BR onto their game will start making them Fortnite levels of money....
Even if it worked like that how can they possibly rival COD, EA and Epic...
@@scalpingsnake swear to God its like originality no longer existed. everyone just itching to ride the BR wave and that feature got stale way before it should have. Battlerite really was awesome and they ruined it but at least these devs actually know how to make a good game.
@@eXponentia Right? Battlerite was fun as hell and had SOOO much potential!
Then these devs put a gun to the back of its head and pulled the trigger 'til it was clicking on empty.
I'm jaded as hell just like you, and I still feel deeply disappointed in these guys. "From the makers of Battlerite" just makes me feel sad.
Maybe V Rising will be a comeback story. I hope. I mean, I know these guys can put out good stuff if they try. They better not put a fucking battle royale mode in V rising though.....

Been rooting for these devs since they announced V Rising because I thought their previous multiplayer game was quality and deserved a larger playerbase. Glad to see their stellar combat design getting its praises.

I hope they dont abandon this just like they abandoned Battlerite which was one of my favorite games
Wouldn't get my hopes up, they abandoned every game they make.
And if they abandoned Battlerite after making a deal to bring it to Xbox I don't see this surviving.
As soon as you said the character controls with WASD it solidified my interest. I hate the point and click movement control scheme a lot of these top down action rpg games tend to have.
Excellent review! You rock
This game is so great, absolutely loving it, been playing on an amazing server
The question is if they'll actually dedicate themselves to keeping it alive or get distracted trying to cash in on a FotM genre with the engine and shift all their development to a destined to fail project while their main draw dries up and dies.
Totally agree.
They announced that this will most likely be their main and only game they focus on for a while
@@baileym6070 Actions over words, a healthy amount of skepticism has never hurt anyone.
@@Zlx1 just saying what they announced is all lol
To be fair though their last two games ( I don't really count Battlerite Royale as a separate game) were both very small in scope as far as demographics. The action combat was great in their old games but the game mode of only arena battles made it not have a long lasting feel unless you really liked only 3v3/2v2/1v1 fighting with no objectives.
V Rising looks like the scope of the game will capture a much bigger audience and still allow Stunlock to focus on what they do best - great action pvp. Seems like a good formula for them to focus on the game. I'm pretty sure the old games died because of population and stagnating revenue rather than the devs wanting to jump ship to another game.

Great review! Game looks awesome. Thanks for the video
I love anything vampires, not gonna lie
I'm playing this for the amazing top down combat, and I put up with the survival mechanics which are as annoying as in any other game in the genre. I feel this one in particular is a missing opportunity to iterate on these tedious mechanics. But hey, at least they didn't implement an xp leveling system just for the sake of it. Great game.
Battlerite was a game I always went back to because the combat was extremely fun and rewarding. So glad to see they've stuck to the overall feel of what they do best and implemented it into a sweet vampire survival experience.
They made 2 pvp games before Battlerite that also had the exact same combat. The combat in their games has always been top notch, but the games all had a problems with longevity for various different reasons.
Yet another timely video from the Shill himself. I was just thinking about this game when I opened youtube.
Been playing Tribes of Midgard with my partner for a few days and this seems exactly like the game I wish it would be. More exploration and customization, proper base building and leveling. It's almost funny how this seems to expand on EVERYTHING I hoped to see. Now fingers crossed that we get this consoles some day!
I'm very conflicted with this release. Part of me really wants to not pick it up (if only for a few years) just because I've been burned by Stunlock studios one too many times, but I can definitely see the care they've put into the trailers to present a unique and exciting game. I loved their previous game, Battlerite, to death. And seeing them having mismanaged it to such an unbelievable extent was pretty crushing. But my autism aside, Stunlock's got a good team with them. They're talented with getting action in a game just right. A lot of abilities in Battlerite just have the right oomph to it: being hit by a 2 ton shield, or having a mega-slug shot at your face feels so visceral, and I can see all that in this game too. I'm leaning on a middle ground of getting it. If they at least try to keep this game alive for 2 years then I'll check it out.
RIP battlerite
"Much like a gamer the sun is no friend of Vampires" .....lol
Looks fun I’ll buy this when it’s released on console. Nice review skill up!
I hope this makes to console one day, looks great. To me, it looks less a survival game, but and RPG with survival elements.
Glad to see that this game has a PVE mode and custom servers. When I first saw it, I thought this is a vampire Rust game, which was an immediate turnoff for me. But it actually looks fun and damn Battlerite had some of the best combat so yeah
I've had my eyes on this for a while now and I'm glad it didn't disappoint as so many others.
I see the main organization behind stunlock is tencent and im like mmmm nah forget it
I have over 3000 hours in Battlerite, one of my favorite games off all time, and I'm extremely excited for this game. I don't think Stunlock is this heartless boogyman people make them out to be, I just think they didn't do a great job managing what was a really good game. With no battle royale trend to try to hop onto, hopefully this game has a chance to take off.
Yea, they made mistakes, but they didn't feel like usual AAA "mistake" as in "we accidentally tried to scam you for money". They are unlucky that they tried to jump the bandwagon (made a MOBA), then tried to jump the bandwagon (make it e-sport), then jumped the bandwagon (turn it into BR). It's easy to see those and criticize, but a lot of good decisions and work was done in between, just not as "shiny" as those mistakes. Here's to second chances.
@@HeroDarkStorn Battlerite was essentially a remake of BLC, it was always highly competitive, high skill ceiling arena brawler, they don't jumped any bandwagon with it.
Looks really cool. Hope good survival games like these go to console and see the success Subnautica had. So Skill Up, are you gonna review Salt and Sacrifice?
This isn't a survival game.
