As a musician, I'm all about creating musical experiences that have people feeling happy and free, and that's why the "Sing With Me for Free" series exists. Since 2018, I have asked thousands of random people to sing with me on camera. A lot of people have said no, some have said no initially but changed their minds to yes, and some have said yes right away. I ask these people to sing with one purpose: to create a way for them to experience a sense of happiness and freedom they did not feel before. And much of the time, this actually works (and that makes ME happy).

It was great to see her so tired and drained talking about her jobs and the second her mouth opened to sing she just came alive! That was such a quick and dramatic shift in energy! She was kinda glowing afterwards! And, yes, She had a beautiful voice!

The Someone Like You girl made me a bit teary-eyed . Not sure why even, but thanks Reggie & to Felicia for pointing out that it's not easy to reach out to strangers.
My daughter, Laura, died in 2019. I had to find a way to get through each year. For the third year I was ready to use music, so I chose a song a day and listed it on my FB page. Laura and I connected by music through her whole life from lullabies to rockin’ out to my old 45’s and LP’s, singing in children’s choir at church, to playing cello in school, to singing in the car. I remember the year the songs changed from kids music to spice girls and back street boys! (So many NOW CDs!) She danced with her Dad at her best friends wedding to Rainbow Connection, an old favorite. Laura developed rheumatoid arthritis and a related eye disease at age 4 and numerous other problems along the way. She was almost completely blind at the end, but she said she knew I was around because I was always humming. As Laura lay dying, a good friend spontaneously sang “Amazing Grace” and I cling to that because it says “was blind, but now I see” and I believe she is free in heaven seeing all and running without pain or disability. So that is the song I would choose if I met you, Reggie. Much love to all, but esp to the Mamas whose children live in heaven. 💕🐝💕

When you can't sing, you can't sing. I can't. I'd certainly engage and chat with them, but relate to people who do walk on by. I also accept the argument that everyone can sing at some level ... but then there are us who would need a lot of work to sing Happy Birthday. (I can play the piano pretty well ... but singing is sadly a no). x
Roxanne reminds me of my grandma. She would have LOVED to belt it out with Reggie and Felicia. It’s been 16 years and I still miss her every day ❤
