These cars have iconic design and winter capability. Growing up in Montana, these were unstoppable on snow and ice-covered roads and the ultimate ski vehicle. They have never been properly appreciated, so great to see you breathing new life into this one.
Really love your attention to detail and willingness to tackle these difficult fixes. Would love to see what you could do on a more expensive project. Thinking like an old Ferrari, Bentley or a restomod project.
The project is coming along nicely! I would have loved to see footage of the assembly instead of just the final product as I feel like I always learn more about how to deal with assembly problems by watching others. Looking forward to the final product!
Can't wait for next Ep. You really go at it full send. Would love to find one of these as a project myself. Anyone with tips, sources,...would be grateful.
Nice build, I would say that the chassie on your car is the same as on my European Audi S6 C4 (1995). Same size on wheelbearings, steering rack and so on 👌🏻
I follow your channel since you had one bmw e46 wagon.Your videos are very relaxing and i latching them with huge interest. You show how should be do perfectly. Best regarts
CRAZY that that one vacuum box under the dash could affect the engine so much.... in my own research to fix ancient recalls, one mentioned that a bad seal in the lines could cause an elevated idle related to the sudden acceleration. (in addition to the automatic shifter not having an brake pedal interlock and could shift into D/R with a bump of the lever)
I own an '87 5000S. I relate to the problems finding correct sized rear wheel bearings. I've never had so much trouble getting the rights parts for any other car that I've had with my 5000S. It's been a great car for the last 13 years in all other respects. But, getting the right parts has always been difficult.
Nice work! You might check the flaps in the airbox to see if the OEM foam has disintegrated. When it breaks down, the system can't divert the air to the correct vents. Not a fun job though, as I'm sure you have learned about many jobs on these old Audis.
Great work and well done. For brake lines only buy from HELPerformance. Stainless steel braided libes. They will custom make to oem spec if necessary. About $110 for four lines and they are the best!!
Wow what a awesome Work, i Like your Style how you fix it. Why you have plates from Darmstadt Germany? And Last question where you bought this wheelhousing Covers in Carbon Look???? These are in Germany Not available..... I cant Imagine how much stress is it for people from the US to get parts for old Audis.... It is horrible and i am from South Germany 😀😎. I own myself a 200TQ 20v, and a URS4 , an since 10months a typ81 B2 Audi 90 (Audi4000 in the US). Hope theres coming much more Audi content. Greetings from blackforest
Thank you for watching! I got the plate from a friend and I thought it fit the look of the car. Where I live you only need a legal rear plate for registration. The rear wheel liners aren't actually carbon look, but they might seem that way in the video. The plastic just has wrinkles in it (not sure why). Parts are definitely hard to find here, and it's made even worse because the car was called 3 different model names over the years in the USA alone. It sounds like you have a very nice collection!
Dude, we would rather watch some actual work being done in a video than a description of said work... You don't even put some footage of you driving the car... Enjoyed a lot the last video with the steering box being rebuilt.

Amazing dedication to this project. Keep up the great work and interesting content!
@22:40 No goofy OEM+ 😂😂😂
Thank you!!!
I just noticed the Kansas tag with the Johnson County sticker. Hello from a fellow Overland Park neighbor!
Brilliant work and fault finding.

Great work!
Would be nice to see more work on the HVAC system. My car also blows air through the defrost only. And I can't find the leak.

Love these vids! Once you’ve completed the restoration…how well will the 5000 take additional power?

Do you have the part number and brand for the larger bore master cylinder?
where did you find those rubbers for the rear suspension
You should get a 90 cs quattro.
Hi Peter what happened with E30? (I myself have 2 E30's)I guess you sold it? Were you able to recover what you put in?
I sold it back in 2019. I definitely lost money on it, but made the majority back.
@@PracticalEnthusiast Thank you for the response. Loving your content and keep up the great work.
