Incredibly beautiful cinematography. The ocean and surfing scenes were mesmerizing and gave me goosebumps. I've been living in Japan now for 25 years but grew up in Australia in the 70's. This movie recreates and captures this period in time for me growing up on the coast perfectly. You would think you were transported back to that time when things moved more slowly and life was simpler. Simon Baker reminds me of my brother in law who first took me surfing when I was 17. I never could surf a wave, paddling out in itself was tiring. I'm in awe when I watch them surf. My favorite part is at @ when Pikelet, with Sando's (Simon Baker) mentoring and encouragement, overcomes his fear and panic and rides his first true wave. WOW. I love the slow motion scene ending when Pikelet does this.
I've watched the mentalist 3 times from the start to the end ... and now go to the fourth ... can there be a new season the mentalist again? I miss the mentalist!!!!!!!!

Helooks like a cross between Rex Harrison and William Holden. Sexy Rexy's laughing eyes and William Holden's dazzling smile. A little Guy Madison is there too. Simon Baker is so masculine, in the best way possible.
