This is an old song. No offense but what message ? This song is about two people in a relationship or used to be in one.
I am quite aware it is a cover, hence "Cover Song Tuesdays." I know the original version. This is my individual interpretation. A song, covered by another artist, takes on the meaning put out there by the covering artist. To quote M.E., "We are all ONE." Her interpretation was portrayed by me as a coming together rather than the never ending ripping apart that seems to be the currently accepted norm. Interpret it through Bono's eyes and voice if you like, I choose Melissa's.

I've been a fan of hers since around 1993. Her sound is very unique. Her voice is so full of passion and soul when she sings. The way she belts out those amazing, powerful vocals along with her bluesy guitar playing commands your attention! You can feel her pain in her voice. Sadly, it reminds me of better days with a love lost. ( But that only means she's one of the best at making you feel her music).

One of the greatest rock n roll performers ever, either doing her originals or doing covers. Hers is still the best cover of Janice’s “Ball and Chain” I ever heard. Was driving in the Seattle area late one night many years ago and heard it as a bootleg played by a local alt DJ. So good I had to pull over, turn it up and just wildly groove to it…
