This song and version is his greatest track ever. The emotion in this song, coupled with the acoustics is so raw. I didn't ever think a song could top Fundamentally Loathsome but this one did. 10 years later and I'm still always coming back here.
@No One In terms of an emotional album, like a genuinely emotional album, The High End Of Low does that job 20x better than Mechanical Animals does. Especially considering Manson was legitimately at his lowest point when making that album compared to Mechanical Animals. None of the emotional songs other than Coma White do it for me. All of the songs in The High End Of Low capture the combination of bitterness and the sadness. Whereas Mechanical Animals to me has always felt like somebody trying to imitate sadness. He may not have been, but I know for sure that it's coming from a real place in The High End Of Low.
This song especially this version is the theme for this period. My mother died 2 days ago. She was 48. Her body gave out after years of drug addiction. Im a clean addict and all i hear is "You couldn't have helped her." While she was alive people said "she would drag you down. Youre just barely trying to get your shit together. She has to hit her own bottom. " And all the calls i didnt answer. And all the guit. The guilt. She was adamant about cremation. Into the fire. Into the fire.
I left my gf of 7 years a month ago, we decided to get clean the last two years we were together. I stayed clean for those (and still am) but she just couldn't stop using meth. After over a year of trying to help her I just couldn't do it anymore, she was literally dragging me down and didn't really want to get clean. this song means a lot to me
I can't believe many people didn't like this Album. I had no problem with it my favorite songs are *1. Running to the Edge of the world* *2. Unkillable Monster* *3. Into the Fire* *4.Wight Spider* *5. I have to look up just to See Hell*
Its called acoustic its not going to be as powerful...and personally i think this has more intensity because it's more real. Recorded in one session...unlike the album version where he recorded each part seperately, also there are no effects on his voice and you can hear the emotion he puts into it.
What I just realized... about six years ago, Manson wrote a response on the oracle. He said "sometimes it's better to gently push something under, than to get sucked in." Isn't that just the damnedest thing. I really do hope he has that written down in some mysterious journal that he will be releasing to the public some day.
Two heartbeats ended in hell trying to break your fall… I listened to this song repeatedly after I broke up with my ex. He was headed in a destructive path and I tried relentlessly to redirect him but it was no use. I hope he’s doing better.
"I sing about it on "Into the Fire." I say, "If you want to hit bottom, don't bother trying to take me with you." My lowest point was Christmas Day 2008, because I didn't speak to my family. My walls were covered in scrawlings of the lyrics and cocaine bags nailed to the wall. And I did have an experience where I was struggling to deal with being alone and being forsaken and being betrayed by putting your trust in one person, and making the mistake of that being the wrong person. And that's a mistake that everyone can relate to. I made the mistake of trying to, desperately, grasp on and save that and own it. And every time I called her that day -- I called 158 times -- I took a razorblade and I cut myself on my face or on my hands." - Spin, 2009

@No One MA was Manson writing a story of a character, while this album is Manson’s own life. In that regard the latter should be more emotional
@No One Mechanical Animals is his third worst album. Also, Fundamentally Loathsome and Disassociative are two of his worst songs.
Same here 🥲
Ya. It’s great.
Best song on the album. for sure. Even though Running to the Edge of the world comes very close.

Emotion turned into voice. Very deep, awesome. Thanx for uploading.

Great! He kept the solo. I love it, one of the best solos ever. And one of the best songs ever too.

Feels very cathartic. Wow.
ive been listening to this song for the past few days....stuck in my head, but i LOVE the beat the lyrics are pretty deep. great song!!
makes you wonder if an original idea was for the album to be all acoustic since almost half of it has an acoustic version
I prefer the alt versions
Probably, basically what happened with Pale Emperor as well
@@Dissociare And also We are Chaos.

Where did you find this?
It's on the deluxe version of The High End of Low, if I'm not mistaken.
Old comment, so idk if anyone will see this but it’s on the international deluxe for Japan. There were like 6 different version of THEOL.
