the first time i did it was to see if you would get a star lol
it can also be done in "bowser in the sky", but it can take a really long time (20+ minutes) if the ai decides not to spit fire.
i don't think it can be done in "bowser in the fire sea" since his flame attacks don't seem to spawn coins

Whats the max number of coins you can get?
I used this trick and got 210 now but its taking a lot of time

unlimited in theory, although it ends up taking a lot of time
from what i found on google some versions cap at 255 while the north american version caps at 999

if you go on the roof of the castle after getting 120 stars, yoshi gives you 100 lives 🌟
