My SRM-266 came with starting instructions different from what you demonstrated here. It was miserable starting it for the whole time I’ve had it. Did it the way you showed here and it started right away, third very light pull. Thanks for showing the entire process.

That little cartridge is actually a fuel tank vent

I'm working on two of these now. Missing a few parts. Another so-called technician took these apart and now I've got to see why its flooding. I have a Stihl myself after changing from Ryobi...lol they did last for quite a few years thought. Collin is correct in that piece is a vent cap. Your vehicles have the same.

The white thing above the tank is the gas tank vent

That's not an inline fuel filter it's a tank vent, and Stihl also has one, but it snaps into the top of the tank.

I just bought one today- it was reduced to $229- not bad- how often would you have to grease the shaft unit at the bottom? Thanks

Depending on how much you use it. Commercial atleast once a month. Residential once a season

    That is the tank breather/vent.

just bought one of these and couldnt get it to start for nothing. I returned it and got another one same make/model. Having the same issue, it wont start for nothing... I followed the quick start guide and used the red armor premix that echo sales. I think I'm going with stihl or husqvarna.

Are you sure the switch is on run and not stop. I could see if they had one lemon but 2 in a row isn't likely.

Me too buddy, but I finally got it started. I was down to the last few pulls before it was going back & it fired up

I never use the primer on my echos......choke them....hold throttle open....they will hit on 2nd or 3rd pull.....choke off....start right up.

How does it compare to the SRM-225? I need help making the decision

266 is a beast and has a little more power then the 225. Mostly depends on your budget honestly because they’re both great trimmers.

266 has more torque and in my opinion is a little bit more comfortable to use when using for a long period of time. I have alot of problems with my 225 bogging down in stuff that the 266 eats through. But if your doing standard trimming and nothing extreme the 225 will do just as good all depends on what your willing to spend both good choices though let me know what you decide

Red Blue40 I’m glad you’re enjoying it I go for my 266 every time over my Stihl 70 with a Darwin’s grip I just think the echo runs a lot smoother and has more torque keep me updated but I know you won’t regret your purchase

@@wv-fisherman5049 it runs without bogging down but i havent had it super tall grass yet....so far ive found a video that shows ya how to remove the little brass/ plastic plug that covers up the high end fuel mixture screw...havent removed it yet to speed up trimmer but its not even close to be broken-in yet(engine is not running at top rpm's but good enuff so far)...i seen that darwin handle bar grip today.....give feedback on that product how it handles.....wish theyd give harnesses and shaft clamps for these echo 266's

Red Blue40 sorry man I used the wrong channel I actually made this video😂 and didn’t realize I was on this channel when I replyd. This trimmer was slow at first but after about 8 tanks it got broke in and does great I’ve put it through tons of thick stuff it’s probably not meant for runs like a champ probably needs a new plug now but I’d advise holding of messing with the carb for now unless you feel like it really needs it after about 10 tanks

That filter is a inline fuel filter

Cody Davidson thanks I’m used to Stihl and they don’t have that thing I’m guessing it’s finer filtration than the one in the tank

    • @redblue40rc33
      @redblue40rc33 5 лет назад

Cody Davidson that's a tank vent, not a filter
