As a replacement for Shay or just as an addition to the deck, I would highly recommend Killian, Ink Duelist. His ability to make spells you cast that target a creature cost 2 generic less works fantastically with this style of deck, and he’s the same mana cost as Shay…so he helps discount protection spells as well as the more expensive targeted removal spells, and since it’s any spell not just instants/sorceries he’s also works with auras!
Might be late, but seeing you have a take on my favorite AC character makes me happy! Also your deck building gives me ideas to my current Shay deck. Thank you!
As a simple game plan that you might always see victory here. You need to target 10 opponent creatures with a spell or ability, they die, your commander can now swing for lethal. There can be some weird ways to build and play this deck. Like giving your opponents tokens, targeting then with an ability, destroy them with any number of effects, and now swing for lethal. There is an interesting idea here where you could leverage yourself as a group hug. Giving gifts/ tokens, helping the table get rid of threats, and then pulling a surprise commander kill.
Akroan Horse plus VATS is basically a gigantic growth if there isn’t a token player at the table. If there is then it’s a collasalification without the self tap
A little pet card of mine is cauldron of souls and I know it's not in the budget, but being able to target the whole entire board on someone's endstep is one helluva move.
First my suggestion : Transmogrifying Wand. Blow up any creature and leave a cow that your Nekrataals can kill. Also, add some white blinkers to reuse your etbs. Eldrazi Displacer is decent (but you might want to adapt/increase your mana base as he needs colorless). Not fan of the commander. He isn't doing anything for you when you do your deck's thing (killing all the things), and if he gets dealt with once, he loses most of the progress (+1/+1 counters). I'm not even sure I'd put him in the Mardu bounty counter assassin, as he's just beef that you have to work for. Also, multiple bounty counters do not stack. There's probably a better commander for this exact same 99.
I'm not sure there is a better commander for this type of deck. It's true that Shay Cormac isn't the most impactful kind of wincon or even commander, but that ability to turn off all protection keywords in the command zone at a very cheap rate cannot be overstated for a deck whose goal is to kill everything dangerous with targeted removal. This is especially true when nothing else brings quite the same thing (Shadowspear only hits hexproof and indestructible, and not protection, ward, or shroud like Shay Cormac does) and especially not in the command zone.
sry, missed the "for each opponent". rest is irrelevant. hammers of moradin tokens dont trigger their ability. being put in play attacking doesnt allow any attack triggers. yes, this sucks and is completly unintuitive EDIT: rulings from scryfall: Although the tokens enter the battlefield attacking, they were never declared as attackers. Abilities that trigger whenever a creature attacks won’t trigger, including the myriad ability of the tokens. If there are any costs to have a creature attack, those costs won’t apply to the tokens. Not mandatory if you're not doing anything with the assassin tag/equipment count. Which he could've leaned into a bit more for a voltron/go wide but Ratonhnhaké:ton is a stronger fit to that.
My favorite part of the video was when suris said ⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️, my second favourite part was how this deck really shines a light on great removal, instead of becoming a cliche voltron shell, love the creativity, tho you may wanna skim through vids before you upload them 😉

I was coming down here to say the same thing. Discount city.

Umm for me the video loaded as 45 minutes with 20 plus minutes of black space at the end. Might need to reload @SurisMTG

YES! I was debating if Shay was worth building or not.
A vultron and control commander? So would that be vultrol or contron? Either way nice deck
Huh , just now noticed :
They didn't give Shay the assassin type , but Rogue Knight (templar) instead .
I'm eating good today, thank you Suris
Cauldron of souls should be in the deck target the entire board then board wipe
I think if you play one of this assasin commamders brotherhood regelia ahould be an mandatory include
