@I just got TANNED Betcha I know a hell of a lot more than you, and that you were'nt even a sp*nk-bubble, when l watched Ali enter the fray after his Olympic glory. Ali was one of the fastest and best offensive Heavyweights that ever held the coveted title, no doubt. He was also definetely the most high profile fighter I ever seen, with such a poor defence. When fighters expend as much energy as Ali did on the front foot, it was and still is, imperative that they defend themselves properly when under attack themselves. Smothering opponents, even though it is ugly to watch, is better than taking all of the head shots Young Cassius/ Ali took throughout his long career. Go and watch heavyweight boxings first African/American champ, the great Jack Johnson to see how it should be done. No heavyweight champ embodied and epitomised the Queensbury rules better than this fantastic fighter, who shook up white society, without ever mentioning religion, far greater than Ali could have ever wished to do........ even with the 1970's media circus' he embraced, giving him countless opportunities to do so!

TIME TO TELL THE TRUTH. Ali was a great boxer and a charismatic figure. But his racial views were toxic. He believed in segregation and opposed miscegenation at a time when mixed race couples faced real discrimination. He was an outspoken member of the racist Nation of Islam. Excuses are made for Ali's racism - 'it was the context of the time, he was a black man in America etc' - but why did other prominent black fighters not also spout out the same divisive race-baiting? But try telling these truths and you get shouted down by those who would prefer blind idolatry to objective and empirical truths.
