The whole thing with people saying “she’s rich and wants her taxes higher”… why doesn’t she just donate to charity instead of paying hundreds of thousands to go to a party. If she wants to get taxed more, start donating all the money you want to be taxed
But there’s a difference in you donating whatever you want and everyone who has enough paying more taxes. Also donations and taxes don’t fund the same things. With taxes the government spends it on education, health programs or whatever so that everyone benefits. With donations that’s usually not the case… i also read that some nyc politicians got invited, so they didn’t necessarily spend their own money.
