I think when he was asking the congregation if Bishop Eddie can depend on them, he meant that if they were still going to have his back even after he came out clean and confessed.

The prophecy was real as heaven for it had came from heaven. The testimony of Jesus Christ is prophecy. Too many people knew of his lifestyle away from church but they allowed it and some even indulged in it with him smh. Bishop Ellis was obedient when he stopped him so he could speak what God said...deep!
I know nothing of all this, but that's one of the most powerful things I have ever heard: "A faith that has not been tested, is a faith that cannot be trusted." The clever wisdom in the choice of words by Ellis shows God's careful handling of Long's situation. "What makes us press toward Jesus, even though there's hell on the outside, is when we are satisfied that we have the confidence of those on the inside." That was so empowering for the bishop. I'm sure he has listened to this many times.

The speaking pastor put it in nice terms but most knew exactly what he was talking about. That Eddie needed to confess and trust that the members will still stay after confession. He did not do that.
Exactly! He didn't confess but he could not legally do so. However, the fact that he couldn't talk about it speaks volume. Sadly, God did allow that to be exposed. God loves us, but we still have to suffer the consequences of our sins. Glad he's at peace with the Lord now.

So I looked up articles online and every article says he died of cancer and denied the allegations from all those boys..but settled out of court. Sounds like he never truly confessed and everyone was helping him cover up until the end.

This is one of the scariest but realest moments I ever witnessed with God and leadership. This is a example of what it means when Grace meets judgement. When judgement comes it ALWAYS gives the opportunity for repentance. Eddie Long unfortunately held on to pride and people pleasing. 🙏🏾 May we all (even myself) have a ear to hear the spirit… even when it comes to the Lord speaking in riddle form. When he said “death is hanging on too long”- Eddie Longs confession and repentance could have saved his life AND the people would have stayed with him.

I visited NB in 2007, during there young people's conference and had the pleasure to hear Bishop Eddie Long preach. I enjoyed my time there. Awesome. In this carnal life, as human beings we experience evil. I do not know if Eddie Long was molested when he was younger. I do not know what demons he was personally fighting. Only God knows. I remember having a dream over 5 years ago, seeing him in NB standing where he normally stands to preach and there was a shaking. Like an earthquake shake. Then here comes the molestation charges, then him getting sick and having passed away today. It saddens me, but God is in control. God reveals the real to his children. His family and those close to him know. If he did do what he did and after that there was no conviction w/repentance. His soul is damned. But if there was, God forgives and as human being we must forgive too. In regards to the allegations...God sees and knows. I pray NB continues on and God put in place the right leadership. The prophet asked the congregation two different questions: can God trust you; and can the bishop depend on you. One was asking if God can trust you to follow His word. ( 1 Kings 12: 17-33 - 13: 1-32 the tale of two prophets ). And God’s word goes against what bishop was being accused of. Which almost contradicts the second. The second is can the bishop depend on you to still follow him even when he repents publicly to something unsavory? With repentance, God could have used that same moment as an opportunity to show His mighty mercy and redemption. It’s was like He was stretching out His hand, to hold the bishops hand in that moment, to walk with him through what he was about to endure. If he just trusted in the Lord... and was obedient... it would have been okay. After all, bishop was only human. But he did not. Repent or trust God. And that is unfortunate.

When God send a word of prophecy to the Body of Christ, he wants a man or woman to get in line with the word and the spirit and to repent if needed to do so or to bring encouragement to the Body of Christ.
sometimes we take the road more traveled and put ourselves and God to shame. It does not make us any less a son or a daughter, we just have to suffer the consequences that we have created for ourselves.

Right when Long was about to dismiss Ellis ran to stop him to speak that prophesy & it came true. Bishop Long went from laughing to being humbled. Bishop Ellis was there to deliver that message not just to preach.

It’s just certain mannerisms I picked up even before he started his prophecy that made me realize it was a bit of a warning. The church didn’t pick up on it right away neither didn’t eddy long.

It's hard to say thAt because NO MAN knows what is the heart of God unless they have spent time with him and He himself reveals His word/prophecy. In any case the Lord knew the issue and He gave the Bishop as He gives us all, a space to repent.
