Can’t believe you guys did all this leg work, comparing items to Amazon et al. Kudos! 👍
Nothing makes Costco gas buyers happier than me in my travel trailer taking up the whole section of pumps while we fill the pig.
This was another great video, friends.
You know what the most expensive vehicle in America is to operate? Costco shopping cart. 🛒🤓
Hahahaha. I’ve spent so much thanks to those Costco shopping carts.
Great episode! But my next trip to Costco is going to be an expensive on once I show this vlog to my wife. You said that Costco doesn't sell lithium RV batteries and they do regularly sell one of the best RV lithium batteries on the market on special events. Right now you can buy two Lion Energy UT1300, 105Ah batteries for $1449 until 5/27/24. Anywhere else these would cost at least $1800. I've had 4 of these for over 2 years and they are great! I am a retired electrical engineer and these batteries in my opinion are even better then Battleborn batteries with better specs and a lifetime warranty. Thanks
Well that's what we get for saying something definitive! Really cool to hear.
Did you also change the charger?
@BadDadio ... Yes I did. Lithium charges to 14.4vdc where the old lead acid built-in RV chargers only charge to 13.7vdc. Cost about $250...
And - even better -Lion brings pallets of the batteries people return from Costco to the Quartzsite RV show and sells them CHEAP.
Lion makes good stuff.
Question to the fine electrical engineer. Can most wer cell battery items take a lion battery?
** Online Only - Costco sells the EcoFlow Portable Power Stations and Solar Panels at a discounted price. Check often because product offerings change frequently. Great prices and return policy.
:o I didn't know this
Great video. Ty for a the thirough research. Will be looking into some of these deals
We have been traveling for the past couple of months and haven’t hit up a Costco in a long while. Heading home and can’t wait to pick up a few items you have given us a show of. Thank you for that!! ☮️❤️🚐
Its nice to know our family of 5 is not the only family keeping Costco in business. Great video!
I tried the swinging hammock chair while visiting my son in Hawaii. Came home and bought me one. Took a camping trip and hubby tried it out. Had to find a Costco so he could get one! If you have back issues, this chair is great! Love that we can swing yet be so comfortable! And they take up a lot less room than our former chairs!
Thanks Eric for all the RV info you with your experiences provide. I use mine now as a music studio parked at work so I can play at any decibel anytime however will be taking it all on the road soon so thanks for all the knowledge you have through your own experience provide it so helps prepare us new RVers for the road!
Great video! I'm building my 03 Honda Odyssey out as a long-term camper, and just did a two-week shakedown of it. I've got a bunch of that stuff, plus I've worked in the outdoor industry for the last 20 years. Here's my two cents...
Carry boxes are great, but it's important not to skimp on quality. It really matters with these. I bought a four-pack of cheap clear plastic ones and they were all destroyed by the time my two-week trip was over. I also like ammo cans. They're rock solid and plastic ones are super cheap. Great for tools, and ammo of course...
I'm 6'1" and 210, so finding comfortable, durable chairs is always a challenge. I generally stay away from the scissor-frame chairs as they can really dig in to the back of your thighs if the seat fabric isn't taut. Traditional folding chairs are heavier and take up way more space but the comfort is more than worth the trade off. The other thing I love is those old 3-way aluminum chaise lounge things you can get at RiteAid for like $10. Invaluable for stargazing.
While you can give up some stability in exchange for weight in a chair, I do NOT recommend that for tables. Tables NEED to be stable and rock solid.
My brother has one of those Camp Chef Tundra 3 mega-stoves. It is awesome as an almost institutional style cooker, but it weighs a freaking TON! I'd say the one he has weighs at least 90 pounds. Definitely a two person job moving it, and I wouldn't consider it if you're feeding any less than 6 people.
I have a Dometic 35quart CFX, and once you use one of these you'll never go back to coolers again! It keeps produce and meat fresher longer than my fridge at home! They are expensive but they're worth it. I like the Dometic because it is built to withstand very rough use. There are cheaper models out there, but quality matters - especially when you're driving lots of washboard roads and rough terrain.
The CAT jump starter is extremely light compared to other ones, has the compressor and a very useful built in digital-readout tire gauge as well. The downside is that it is only rechargeable via the USB-C port, and cannot be recharged from 110v, meaning it takes FOREVER to recharge (I think my initial charge on it took 36 hours)! And 200w is pretty wimpy for battery backup, but it could do your phone in a pinch or maybe a string of LED lights. Other than that I'd say it's pretty useless as a power bank.
By the way... a great tip is to make sure these kind of devices are periodically fully charged; if you run them down and do not recharge them promptly it can really shorten their lifespan. I do this at the changing of the seasons. Every 3 months on the equinox/solstice I make sure all my energy storage devices are fully charged. That's also a great time to check all of your smoke and CO detectors, fire extinguishers, and all long-term systems like your water hoses. It's also a great time to check all your battery operated portable devices to make sure there are no battery leaks or corrosion going on. Another sad thing I have found is that the Duracell AA and AAA packs you regularly see on sale at CostCo are absolute garbage! I have never seen a leakier brand of batteries! I don't have this problem with their C, D, or 9v batteries, but I just buy Kirklands for AA and AAA. Stay away from those Duracells! They're JUNK!
The Rinsekit looks cool but OMG the price!!! $200? Without a heater? Really??? Any reasonably handy person could cobble together the same thing out of a sprayer, pump, and bucket purchased at Home Depot for under $60. You could use the same bucket as a Luggable Loo (provided you use plastic liners of course while doing #2).
Those ION tailgater speakers are currently on sale in May for $69.99! May have to spring for one (or two) of those! The compostable cutlery is a great idea! And Aussie Bites are my go to breakfast food, along with ProBars which you sadly can't get at Costco.
Thanks very much! Great video!
Thank you for the reviews. They are most welcomed and appreciated. ❤
You are so welcome!
Love this style of video. Lots of helpful info 👍. Thank you both.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great vid, one of the best on camping gear. Lots of good info. Thanx.
Our pleasure!
We second the 3 pack ground beef packs... for $ they are perfect because they are easily divided, the square packs pack easily in the freezer and it a quality meat.
Nice! I definitely need that wagon.
Abby great to see you again. Love Costco
Ahhh, thanks! Nice to be back. I’ve missed you all!
🌷Thank You🌻
🌷Thank You🌻
Great Job folks
The solo stove is a great deal! Agree the lifetime tables are really high quality.
Bought the lantern for household emergencies , really nice😊
Kevin's organic meals are great on travel days and you just want to cook something quick that is not crappy.
Yes! Big fan of the teriyaki beef and cilantro lime chicken. So easy to cook up some rice in the instant pot and have a good meal on a travel day or when days are really busy at home. -A
Better than the Krusteaz pancake mix is the big box of Kodiak pancake mix. It's whole grain (much healthier) and the baking powder they use doesn't have aluminum in it. The box has three bags of mix. They aren't recloseable but that's why God created one gallon ziploc bags, also available at Costco.
Another good product is the 20 lb. Propane cylinder; has a gauge on it, and you can buy a distribution tree to run your Coleman stove and other propane devices that otherwise use an expensive one pound tank that gets thrown away after one use.
Love the chapters
Thanks for all of this information!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice job, you two. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks nice job very helpful.
Glad it helped!
Costco is definitely our go to for many things! Last week I picked up a nice portable camping table, I think it is Cascade Mountain, on sale for $23.99. It is very lightweight and has a travel bag. Will be a nice addition to the campsite and to take kayaking with us as well.
Great finds! Awesome video!
Thanks a bunch!
You guys are so lucky with your Costco! There is hardly anyone there and the gas lines were empty. Our Costco in Roseville, CA is always busy and with almost 30 pumps is typically two to four cars deep waiting in line! The turns are crazy as well.
So many great suggests and the research was amazing. Thanks for all the info!
To be fair, this was a Monday morning shortly after opening. If we’d gone on a weekend or later in the day, we definitely would have been dealing with crowds and lines. That said, I’m sure it’s still not as busy as your CA location. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the comment! -A
Man, this is awesome. We're getting a Costco close to us finally. That storage bin... I wonder if that's the only size they have.. Definitely good for a kitchen box. Bigger ones for bigger gear would be cool too. I can't wait for ours to open haha.
Thanks for the info !
very welcome!
Great ideas.
The wife and I have been thinking about buying the 2 person kayak.
Great stuff Thanks
Very welcome!
Good info. Thx.
Glad it was helpful!
I was there last night - so much gear! I did NOT buy any but now I’m considering they lantern and the waterproof storage box 😂
Handy tip to new campers, others in the campground don't want to hear your music or see blinding lanterns, both of which are annoying in the forest, headlamps are especially bad and blinding at night. Generators? Buy a quiet Honda
If you go to Harbor Freight, they either sell you or give away (with purchase)a small flashlight that has a magnet on the back, takes Costco batteries and is decently bright.
Very cool video. Loved it
Thanks so much!
Will the 4Runner springs work for a double cab prerunner 2WD? I was wanting to put bilstien 4600’s up front and replace the spring while I was at it. Does that mean I would need to get the socks for a 4 runner too?
Yesterday (from the title)I wasn't interested in this episode, and wasn't going to watch it, but this morning, I gave it a shot, and except for the iced vs glazed debate, it was really worth the watch. Thanks 👍...
Good information
Thanks!
Good deals!
Our local Costco's have Diesel Fuel but if I am filling up the motorhome it is better to pick another line. I have the lightweight camp chair and it is nice but a pain to set up.
Great episode of Rv Miles. Thank you for all those items that are cheaper at Costco than anywhere else. Costco had the deals. Love their chicken and hot dogs. Great camping gear as well. I’ve used most of those items. Thank you for this video. See you both soon! 23:18
Thanks so much, Sherri! The rotisserie chicken is so good.
@@RVMiles
I’m glad the rotisserie chicken was good. I love the kind of chicken myself.
I’m not sure why but your content attracts more trolls and negativity than any other….. l like y’all!
Some costcos sell propane too (much cheaper than other places too)
We love Costco! Some of our favorites are Kirkland butter from New Zealand, Tillamook sugar-free jerky, and Kirkland seaweed snacks. So many more but don’t have time to list them all! Great video!
Thanks for sharing!!
Nice to see your wife on the show, she is well spoken an very knowledgeable ,great reviews keep up the good work.
Thanks! Glad to be back here and appreciate the nice comment. -A
We love a good Costco find! Plus, cheap pizza for the whole family!!!
We were much later than we’d planned to be because there was waaaay more to film than we’d originally anticipated so we took a pizza home to the kids for lunch. They love Costco pizza!
Just got the timber ridge directors chair on sale at Costco for 39.99. The Mac sports chair was a bit more comfortable but double the price at 79.99 and noticeably heavier.
I bought a refrigerator for under $200. That is far less the a Colman cooler for $600 plus. I set up the outdoor kitchen with the BBQ you showed. The three burner is a must on the campcheif if your cooking for over 6 people.
I like the chairs I got there.
Costco also carrys mattresses and they have the best return policy of any brick + morter
You covered all the chairs at Costco EXCEPT the zero-gravity type chair that was right in that same section of the store. I even saw it behind you guys when you were testing the other chairs.
We have the Mac chair and the zero-gravity type chairs and love them both.
Yeah, we cut a few chairs out in order to make room for other items and keep this video at a manageable length.
Best store in the world! Not perfect but BEST! Let down about the diesel, even though ours was increasing diesel delivery before they shut it down. Like I said not perfect. I'll just go to Love's or Buc-cee's! How much have you spot lighted Love's on their RV friendly practices? Thanks for this video
Dometic actually acquired Igloo a few years ago.
I like this new video format.
Thanks! We're thinking we might do the same for a few other stores.
@@RVMiles How about the local liquor store?
Thinking of doing an Abby’s fav Costco wine selections. Lol. -A
Those coho cargo boxes are excellent value for money, comparable boxes from Roam or Pelican cost a small fortune. The one downside I'd point out is the airtight seal on them is so effective it can actually be a challenge to peel it open after a significant change in elevation. I ended up drilling small holes in a recessed spot under the handle so the air pressure could equalize while driving up in the mountains
This is excellent first hand knowledge. Thank you for sharing with us and other RVers.
I've never shopped at Costco. So I found this interesting. There's one about 30 miles from us.
We are empty nesters. We no longer have a Sam's Club or Costco membership. ❤ I do love Brooklyn Mattresses though!
A trick I learned years ago when camping and fishing with my dad was to smoke cigars and the bugs will leave you alone. Am not sure but the chemicals from the OFF may be worse for you than the cigars. To keep warm on very cold nights a bottle of whiskey helps also.
Such a guy thing 😂
@@pamelavanoverloop3839 Nowadays I see many women doing a lot worse things. Probably why god punished them with monthly pains.
Good Ole American living right there. 😂👌❤
@@pamelavanoverloop3839Yeppppp. If it works don't knock it. 😊 Not that you were.
Real cold weather survival, do not do either of these.
A human hunter will easily find you and whiskey will help you freeze to death.
In which someone else can use your gear.
I like those gas cylinders to keep the bed up. My bed weighs a ton.
This was great! Haven't been to costco in ages, wonder we got up here. 🍻
You should go and report back! -A
@@RVMileslol 😳! You're kidding right? 🍻
Surprised you didn’t mention the Jackery sale through mid May!
We didn’t run across a Jackery sale at our store. Interesting. -A
Very good video you guys
Thanks so much!
Costco is always on my resupply list. I use an app to compare nearby gas prices in case there's a better one but for my travel food it's the best. Sockeye salmon on a wood fire is amazing. One objection is promoting that portable boom box noise maker. Fine if you are in a huge group but PLEASE, I don't care what you are listening to!
Gotta check out the Aldi organic ground beef - we’ve found it to be a better price than Costco. And also, the 3pk gluten free frozen pizzas under the Sabattios brand are phenomenal
The danishes from costco are a staple for us on drive days. Especially the cheese danishes
Those cheese danishes are the stuff I dream of. Lol. -A
And a tall glass of milk... Good lordy 😍
First time viewer. Excellent!
Glad to have you here and hope you join us for a future episode!
Video Gear Nerd Alert! Jason what was the camera and holder you had in one of the shots? Curious…. Thanks - Todd
Just an iPhone on an Osmo gimbal
I got a directors chair with a 2 year replacement warranty at Harbor Freight for $40 and have never had a chair last more than a year from any other company so I’m expecting to replace this one next year for free
The turkey bacon! Huge separated packs (so you can freeze some)- I love bacon, but cooking and cleaning up after bacon in an RV is a pain:) . The turkey bacon is delish!
Good to know! I am a big fan of turkey bacon. Thanks! -Abby
Speaking of saving on gas at Costco. We recently visited California. We paid $5.60 a gallon of gas at a station. Later when leaving California we stopped at Costco and paid $4.62 a gallon.
That’s a pretty big savings!
Where else do you shop for RV gear and cool stuffs?
Our favorite store is probably REI, but we don't have one near us! Love finding them on the road.
If any viewers are in the PNW, BiMart has the 2 person kayak for only $69.99 (on sale)
Great tip. Thanks for sharing!
And the Costco diesel is better than any others, it's the only one that Chev diesels can use without using an additive, known as top tier fuel. (per the owner's manual)
I got that hammock my kid loves it get one if u see it
Costco does sell Lithium Batteries Lion Energy 1300 are available.
Good to know!
Wrong. I paid $700 for the 9500 watt big boy Firman generator. Keep an eye on them sales. And it's really not that loud!
Oookay, thats the FIRST time I've heard that Costco may allow RV parking overnight, and I very much doubt it. Its difficult enough just to park our car there. Thanks for the informative video, however.
You can learn more about overnight parking here: escapees.com/what-stores-allow-overnight-rv-parking/
Fun fact: There was an RV parked at Costco while we were there, and on several occassions we've also stopped at a Costco with our RV to load up on groceries and grab some lunch. Our Costco is open till 8:30 during the week and 6 PM on Sunday's. If you arrive towards the end of the day, you'll find the parking lot fairly quiet and space plentiful.
Do Sam’s Club too. I see Costco Davenport is stocked up. 😎
It’s on the list! Thanks for the suggestion. -A
Who is this beautiful woman partnering with you on this episode? Thanks for all the great information as always! - Michelle
You could show more solar lighting.
Um, we showed what they had…
Helicopter, party bus, or rental car. In that order
My goodness, we’ve become such consumers
Nothing like buying a 55gal drum of ketchup and a casket and camping gear all in one place that’s a great deal
Don’t forget hot dog lunch! I appreciate the ability to streamline all my needs. Lol. -A
@@RVMiles the less stores I have to go to the better I absolutely agree with the streamlined process
We actually purchased a Casket a few years ago, and the price and personal service was fantastic
@@mrsmmben I e seem them in the online store though about making a side car out of for my motorcycle but ended up selling the motorcycle
You have to replace that nasty pseudo mattress that came with your camper! Brooklyn bedding mattresses are THE BEST! ❤❤❤❤❤
DEF is significantly less expensive at Costco than auto parts stores.
Actually Walmart has a better price
We have a Sam’s and not Costco. I wish we had a Costco 😢
Why would you return stuff to Costco if you broke it?
You must not have a weight limit in your Rv!😂
If you find something that interests you at Costco, you’d better buy it right away because Costco won’t have it available again.
Be careful of the mattresses being lined in fiberglass right under that thin layer of fabric
this is u.s. costco and in
USD
If Costco was smart they would get into camper van building
This looks like the Salt Lake MEGA Costco
Just a normal size one! Davenport, IA
@@RVMiles They are a bit smaller in the Atlanta area. Choices are not as good for camping. They do get some products in, but I’ve found it is better to look in the Costcos where I’m going to camp, swim, or go boating (Florida). The choices seem better.
I hope Costco has rewarded you well for this video. Lifetime free membership would be a good start 👍 😊
Costco needs to get on the wagon with Lithium batteries.
OBSERVATION costco is great but watch as the regular food and general merchandise items come off sale, the everyday price is higher than before the sale. Its how they sneak in a price increase
Costco is playing smart. They know camping is a huge market.
👍🏼👍🏼
