      Sport:

    • @emilianojustice5566
      @emilianojustice5566 4 года назад +20

      Rex2Riches
      Yes while that is true and that is the definition of a sport:
      Chess involves little to no physical movement yet:
      Chess has been recognised as a sport by the International Olympic Committee since 2000. It was an event at the Asian Games in 2006 in Doha and again in Guangzhou in 2010. It is also being considered for inclusion in the Pan-American Games.

    • @Rex2Riches
      @Rex2Riches 4 года назад +2

      Emiliano justice I know and I agree that chess shouldnt be classified a sport. Professional Golf on the other hand requires physical perfection. Im not talking about your local rich 60 year olds swimging a club every other weekend.
      I just dont want them to lower the standarts even more. Gaming just isnt a sport in whatever way you look at it. I dont agree with the players being called athletes either. Thats incredibly disrespectful to actual professional athletes who go to their physical limits on a daily basis. The only physical aspect about esport is trying to stay in shape while sitting 12+ hours in front of a screen and trying not to get a headache.
      Dont get me wrong I have nothing against esports in general but I hate the movement trying to justify it as a sport

    • @endcap
      @endcap 4 года назад +11

      @@Rex2Riches Stay in shape? Stay IN SHAPE?!? You need insanely quick reactions, focus (thus, working out helps, a lot), teamplay, aim (FPS) and so on, so forth. In FPS (going to talk about FPS from here), one second of not being focused can literally make you lose a round/match. Do you know how hard it is to be that focused, when you are taking into consideration all these factors - enemy positions, your crosshair, performance anxiety, adrenaline...? And on top of all of that, imagine holding an angle and having to stay focused? Having a great and CONSISTENT reaction time? It's not easy. What about adrenaline? Do you know how much adrenaline you produce, when you are on the top level competing? HELL, even clutching a random round in a match with friends? A lot. And you get adrenaline in real sports as well. Top players in FPS, have better hand-eye coordination than table tennis players, do rapid hand movements, need to train their desired game to PERFECTION to compete at the top level. Their coristol levels are higher/equivalent to a race car driver (sometimes), sometimes achieve a heart rate of 160-180 BPM (I agree, not healthy, but not the point). There is also more people, harder to reach the top, than in any other sport. Take this all into consideration, please. I am sorry for writing such a long paragraph, I just felt this way - just like you said you didn't want "real" athletes disrespected, the same way I'm trying to change your POV and show you, that in some way, eAthletes ARE real athletes.

    • @Rex2Riches
      @Rex2Riches 4 года назад

      endcap still.. hand eye coordination and brain activity are the only aspects of the body that are actively used in gaming and having hand-eye coordination doesnt indicate staying in shape. Yeah you produce adrenaline but by the way you described it a quizshow where you have to react quickly to press buttons and have a lot of stress due to high stakes should be classified as a sport as well.
      Im 21 years old i grew up playing games but I also grew up playing sports. From my experience (and yes, I played every game competetively because thats just in my nature) the two just arent close to each other.
      Sitting and concentrating is not comparable to anything that fits the definition of sportive activity. I agree that you need to practice an insane amout (which I would already classify as unhealthy in gaming) to get good and that its definitely hard to reach the top of the ladder in any game BUT theres a lot of competition in real sports as well and in those its about more than hand eye and learning maps or strategies.
      I dont want to denounce games but I dont want them in the same category. Sports should be exclusive to physical activities.
      edit: I would like to see the statistics indicating that FPS players have better hand eye coordination than Table tennis players. I highly doubt it :D

      A tad bit late, but if u wanna get good at cs go, trust me on this. Do NOT play matchmaking. Find yourself a team. 4 other people is all it takes, practice with them. As a team, improve your individual skill on a private server on bots, like AIM_Botz map, or deathmatch, headshot only is crucial.
      Find a team and play together. Alot. Trust meeee i wish i knew this when i started when all i wanted was to get "global" which means nothing at ALL(i am global btw, because of playing with a team only)
      Practice smoke routines, and executes as t side. And practice default holds and switches as ct side. I know this is all very basic, but its soo crucial to succeeding.
      Play faceit as a team perhaps, or esea scrims. You can sign up for tournaments for competitive pratice
      Just find a team is my point :) so important!

We have to work our asses off to get on the top. Remember if you have a heart you have half of your success. The other half is work. Good luck everybody. We can do this
