Im just tired of my parents smoking in the vehicle. Im to young to die. I don't want to die of second hand smoke. As I sit their in the vehicle my chest hurts as I can hardly breathe. They say it's fine because they crack the window but it's not fine because it's still in there. I try to take little of breathe as possible when I'm Burying my face in to my shirt because the smell is just awful. The worst part is the smell. Smelling it every time I get in the vehicle feeling like I'm going to throw up and even worst is the smell can stain your clothes and Accesories so I have to put cologne on so I don't smell like cigarette smoke when I go to school because I don't want to get made fun of for smelling like cigarettes. I sit down at night and pray for this madness to end, I can't take it anymore. Please can some one that has the power make smoking illegal or at least smoking around children in homes and vehicles. It's for the greater good.

@@OkOk-sh4oq it’s illegal in Australia too I’m pretty sure.
I’m really sorry to hear that, sounds like your parents don’t care enough about you, they’re also way too stressed from their lives to stop smoking, and they enjoy it too much. Man that sucks. Buy some industrial grade mask filters. You might have seen people wear it at factories, they have a little filter on it. Even if it doesn’t work, it could make them realise how serious you are about it, and hopefully you can convince them to buy it for you. Say you truly believe this is for your own good, and you really appreciate their help with this, even in such a small way. hopefully they love you, and they listen to you, although I think the parents just have problems listening to their kids after so many years of them being babies and just crying every day, they forget that they grow up to be people.

Im 44, soon to be 45, and in the apartment I live in, there have been many times where it has been brutal for me too... I am amazed that I still have creative abilities left within me... All in all, at this point I am just damaged goods... On top of it all I wouldn't be surprised if I had a massive stroke and died moments after typing this... Far too many people just don't take this seriously...

I'm currently trapped in an avid smoker's house; my brother's. My clothes, my blankets, bath towels...everything I own now smells like disgusting ash. I can taste it on my tongue, feel subtle pain in my lungs, even my ears are popping.... sleeping in the basement as I do.... the carcinogens seep through the ceiling, through the vents. It's revolting.. and I'm very concerned for my health. But I'm not the only one. There are young children sleeping here as well. Though I have no other place to go for the time. The damage that is being done to my body...I'm not sure how long will take to repair. What I'm most concerned about is what the toxins are doing to my skin. ~Crista, Saint Louis, MO

I live in an apartment in Dublin and am suffering from second hand smoke badly. I have talked to the management company for the apartment but they don't take it seriously at all and say they can't do anything, it's not illegal etc. They must be smokers.

@@KATE-br2kn Thanks so much for heartfelt words, they really do mean a lot. I am really sensitive to it and it does not help that one of the neighbouring tenants smokes like a chimney. I am usually able to take care of it, but it is still enough of a problem often enough to bring me into some very dark places. Aside from that, my life is going very well. What I would like to see is enough buildings for smokers only and ore help available for people who are non smokers in a family or place with smokers. That would be nice🙂

Not in the garage either if the garage is attached to your house the smoke can still get in the house.

@@kayjay4060 I think third hand smoke only affects you if you’re, say, sleeping next to the smoker and you’re breathing in the smoke constantly AND everyday. Or you sit on the same couch as that person, AND that person sits on that couch long enough and enough times that it stains the couch and you can actually smell it with each breath.
Even then just move away from those objects and the person. It will legit be fine. Similar to what you said, if you can’t smell it, you’re not breathing it in. Second hand smoke is really prevalent and it’s hard to clear out of a house, smoking outside and preferably a good distance from the house is the only way to stop the side effects from that.
