Bob must've tried hard not to laugh when he asked the question of the Newlywed Game host. If the contestant pointed his/her finger toward Bob and said 'you", I wonder if they would've accepted the answer.
This was the 1st episode in which Bob Hilton would take over as announcer for the remainder of the series and he would use the phrase "The Juniors are ready, the Seniors are set to play"
Bless the senior womes hearts. But that man is the one who held that team together. Those 2 acted like school girls. They didn't prepare for the next question or answer. Then fumble and grasp for even a letter let alone an answer. My grandmother would have slapped that woman and said grow up and pick up your part of this 3 person team! Can't believe they won.
Bob slipped in the Trivia Race, he said "David Hasselhorf". Also I bet the last question in the race would have made him mad if noone on EITHER side got it wrong ;-).
People rip this "eliminate a wrong answer" format which ultimately did get (well) eliminated. I didnt think it was all that big of a deal. Perhaps a little strategy there where if a bright one whose turn it is can try to eliminate a not so obvious wrong answer. This probably wouldve worked better for a team that knew everyone like a family. That way one would know the intelligence of their family members. This ABC morning show was Eubanks' first Goodson hosting gig.
I love these older game shows. They just don't have hosts like this anymore 😔

That warble was also heard on Family Feud when they ring in to answer.
Plus, "Child's Play", Classic Concentration", and "Now You See It '89".

I really do believe a modern day version of trivia trap would work out well if it was done correctly
IMHO, the Trivia Race should've been a jump in round a la Blockbusters.

the seniors won the game with the Newlywed Game answer in which the Trivia Trap host once hosted
