I don't know if you have USA following,.....but you should. I found you because of my love Hammond organ music. Been enjoying all your posts,......Happy to say many of us survived the pandemic,....that killed in one year,...here in the USA,...to date more than 600 thousand. Unheard of amount of deaths,....sick one day,...most died within a week. Glad to be alive in May of 2021!.........and brother,....I'm an oldster,...still rocking it at age 67.........For the win.
Fantastic player and singer. This amazing instrument. Bits of metal some wood a few valves and wires and this sound emerges. There has never been any keyboard to match it. I always feel moved when I hear it played like this.
We were in a mall today, Indigo had an old piano set up in their store, there were two kids with their mom at the keyboard. A flashback to this past summer at Mt Tremblant. Lachy was at an old piano set up in a tent with no walls. the beat up piano was there for the kids to beat on. Those old 88's never sounded so good, the crowd around the piano were mesmerized with his keyboard skills and soulful voice. We were too, someone is missing the boat here, he should be promoted big time in North America. I told the family about him and that day at the piano, told them to seek him out on the `net, hope they did.
My grandmother lived with my parents when I was growing up in the 70s. She had a stroke, so she was mostly confined to her room. On holidays, when family was around, some of the larger men would get her downstairs. I knew she had played piano but had never heard her. One Christmas or Easter, they got her in front of the baby upright we had in the living room. She started playing this proto rock&roll she called boogie worries. I heard people play the family piano, but never with the drive my grandma had despite the stroke. She had it bouncing on the floor. I never knew that instrument could do that. You're playing makes me feel like that! 👍 Sincerely Steve M.
wonderful guy, met him in adelaide recently, he came over to donate his services in a concert my mate runs for kids with cancer, great guy, fabulous talent.
Imádom! Legnagyobb kedvencem! Csak ezt hallgatom! Fantasztikus játék, fantasztikus Hammond hang! Fantasztikus ének hang! A dob és a basszus is szuper!!!
It's not just the organ, it's the driven sound of the Leslie that grabs the ear, too. When I see a band with a keyboard player with a Leslie speaker I try to get myself in a position to watch that - I find it fascinating to see the speed changing when the keyboard player is using it to add expression. I love the left-hand palm-bumps (I don't know what they're officially called) between the riffs. it's a clever technique I think only organists use!
Yeah the Leslie is a powerful tool. What it adds is just incredible. Actually a lot people call it PALMING or GLISSING. It's pretty hard to slide your palms on a Piano as the keys are so heavy. You can only really slide your thumbnail
@@LachyDoley I suppose it's a little like what I call the 'slush chords' that Stevie Ray Vaughan did on guitar (Pride & Joy is a prime example of that) where he's just playing a backbeat on all six open strings in between the riff - if you analyse the chord (E, B, G, D, A, E) it's actually not at all musical, but because it's there for such a short time the ear picks out the notes it needs and makes it sound right.
Exciting ! Mindblowing ! Heart touching ! The Hammond D3 is a living organism. You need three roadies to transport this machine. I once had a "Crumar Oranizer" 2-manual transistor organ but had to give it away, because I had no space for it and could not manage to move this heavy elephant in my flat. I used a standalone or PlugIn software in my music software in combination with a MIDI-Keyboard instead. I really wonder if someone would be able to play like this on a multi-keyboard like the "Nord" or anything. Never watched anything like this on RUclips. Did anyone of you blues-fans find anything corresponding to that in the internet ?
I'm in awe......My Mom has a B3, purchased in 1963, sitting in her living room that's been RARELY used......drives me crazy. Keep up the GREAT work. :)
Wonderfull source of inspiration for me!... hope to discover more of this guy. His voice and play reminds me of the Peddlers! So if you don't know the Peddlers...
A M A Z I N G.
