I visited these tunnels years ago and, whilst on a tour, I was at the back of the group. Everyone turned left as they exited a room and I glanced to my right down a corridor. I saw a solid looking soldier walk from around the corner in full green military uniform into view at the end of the corridor. He stopped, side on to me, checked his pocket watch which was on a chain, put it back into his pocket, looked directly at me. Then he opened a nearby door and entered a room. I could hear the sound of talking and typewriters coming from the room and see lights on. Then the door closed. I'd assumed it was part of the tour. For years I've been told by my family that it was probably a projector. I'm guessing now that it probably wasn't. 😮
He said William the conquerer visited the castle, amazing, castle built in 1200+ and will an adult in 1066? He visited a grass hill:) I grew up here, played in the castle, and played in the tunnels, Also below hellfire is the uk nuclear shelter, for government and royals ,should that happen.
