The CGI in this movie and the next are fantastic. Some of the best movie CGI I've ever seen and they came out over 15 years ago. Every time i watch them I'm amazed at how well they hold up and how it's even better than a lot of movies made today. Also I just love Davy Jones as a character, not only in the way he looks and how ruthless he is but also how human he is and they explore that a lot in the next one. He's a very three dimensional character which is great for a villain. Can't wait for u guys to see the third one, it's definitely a chaotic one but the character developments and arcs that get wrapped up are, in my opinion, really fantastic.

Barbossa is such an incredible character, it's sometimes sad that he gets overshadowed by Jack. I mean I get it, Jack is my favorite character but Barbossa has so many scenes that still give me chills even though I've seen the movies a million times. Absolutely incredible.

Also I believe the 100 souls Davy orders jack to retrieve is a mockery (insult) of the ones Davy knows he set free. We also see how jack went from freeing slaves, to "yeah I'm good with that" and tricking the 100 men into 100 years of slavery. I love Jack's story arc because at first he genuinely tried to help people, but when bad luck comes his way he slowly becomes a less-caring person which is very realistic and not at all far-fetched.
Weren't they washed ashore on cannibal island? And then the cannibals sort of ambushed them. That would explain why the ship was on the beach rather than anchored in the water.
No they just headed for the nearest land because Jack was scared the Kraken was coming for him and wanted to get out of open water. Just bad luck that they picked an island infested with cannibals.
