About the United States Marine Corps:
The Marine Corps defends the people of the United States at home and abroad. Within every Marine is the willingness to engage and determination to defeat any adversary, and it is this fighting spirit that allows us to fight and win our Nation’s battles.
The mission of the United States Marine Corps is made up of three promises: We make Marines, we win our Nation’s battles, and we develop quality citizens prepared to fight and win battles.
You don’t join the Marines-you become one, forged in the crucible of training aboard our recruit depots on Parris Island, South Carolina, and in San Diego, California, or through the dedication required of officer candidates at Officer Candidates School in Quantico, Virginia. Beyond the physical requirements, aspiring Marines must prove they have the honor, courage, and commitment to face and defeat any obstacle.
Today, more than 180,000 enlisted Marines and 23,000 Marine Officers serve in active duty or reserve forces on bases and in communities around the world, proudly carrying with them the core values of the Marine Corps.

As an army vet, hearing this brings a tear to my eye. THIS OATH HAS NO EXPIRATION DATE REGARDLESS OF WHAT BRANCH YOU SERVED!!!!!!!!!
Thank you sir for your service I'm soon getting the honor to become a united States marine I can't wait for that moment
@@crazedmichael6643 don't fall for the CRT BS that I hear they're enforcing.
I won't
I cried so much, I wont even lie. proudest moment of my life
God bless you. From NC here two brother
Definitely emotional just watching. I'm also from NC and am considering joining up.
@@clintoncarter9203 5.5 years in, wouldn’t trade it for the world
Me too 🥺
Agreed…it’s been 49 years and still get emotional recalling that day!🇺🇸👍🏽
My son is a Marine. Just was deployed to Okinawa. I'm so proud to be a parent of a Marine. God bless them all!!!
How’s he doing?
That's some motivation right there. Thank god for the US Marines.
Thats just because you have them as a profile picture.
@@anires1195 What does that have to do with anything? In fact that makes sense dosen't it?
Thank God for the US Marines.
Oohrah brother I'm enlisting in the Marine Corps as soon as I turn 18
All branches take the same oath
I signed a blank check to defend our country. I've taken the oath. Even though I am now retired I have not asked for the check to be returned. I for one will continue to stand on the wall, remain vigilant until the check is cashed. Then me and the good Lord can have a chat. Maj Bruce Trahan ret.
Bruce Trahan , I got your six, Sir.
I agree Major, my oath is for life. Cpl. Dallachie, USMC-I (Inactive)
Sgt Green, and I approve this message
One of the best moments of my life. Semper Fi
God bless, I want to join the army as a 68c
Did the oath of enlistment at the soldier ceremony at Fort Jackson, SC for the U.S. Army. Aug 18th 2022. I tried so hard not to cry, single tear ran threw my cheek 😅 then I lost it on the bus ride back to the company. I couldn’t hold it in. I was so happy and relieved that I finally made it as a split op. One of the proudest moments in my life.
This gave me goosebumps
My oath has no expiration date. I still believe in it. That's just how it is Semper Fi
My dad sent me a marines oath a few years ago (he was in Nam) and said this is my code. 🥺 he passed from agent orange and other things but he’d say the same as you - his oath with no expiration until the day he dies and his brothers greet him at the doors of heaven lol. He was first deployed in da nang and had some wild stories - found his bff there who told me some more grim ones. Thank you for your service, soldiers don’t have it easy 🙏
That was the best moment of my life so proud to be a marine.
Thank you, for your service
I remember taking that oath through the Army. It was such an honor. This is so beautiful. I cried. I was so proud so young I cried most of the night in my bunk
I didn't serve in the USMC, but I did my service with my own country. But whenever I hear this, this gives me the chills. Respect.
I can't wait to be Marine
kayla harrison r u one yet
Eduardo Rarani *make
Eduardo Rarani lol
How well did this comment age?
John Doe lol who knows
I feel proud to have said this back in 1983 to this day. I hold this Oath and will until the day I die. Semper Fi. One of the many greatest moments of my life. A big thank you to my wife and son for being there every step of the way of my career.
Wow I was there that day. It was taken on October 12, 2012 the day we received our EGA.
The most motivational video out there. This motivates me to keep my dreams of becoming a US Marine alive and well very much! God bless you Marines!
Was the proudest day of my life when my son graduated boot camp. He told me that when they said this oath and were presented with the EGA, even the toughest of the tough had tears in their eyes! They all knew they had done it! They were Marines! They went through the toughest weeks of their lives and came out on the other side as United States Marines! To all future Marines, If you work hard and believe you can do it...and of course their is no such thing as a former Marine! Semper Fi!
Thank you to all Marines as well as all other branches of military service!!!!! God Bless You ALL!!!!!!!!!
Does this choke anyone else up?
Delta Whiskey not me you emotional bitch ass punk
Blackin Public you're the punk i wish you would realize that
Blackin Public what are you going to do insult me since you think you're such a tough guy?
honestly I said it 4 times at this point, so it does move me but I'm increasingly indifferent to it. But it does pump me up no lie.
Delta Whiskey
I can’t get through this without shedding a tear for the men and women who defend this great country we call home
My son received his EGA on September 11, 2010 and graduated on POW/MIA remembrance day, September 17, 2010 at Parris Island, SC. Was a very proud day for his Navy Captain Dad and I.
This was my sons EGA Ceramony! He is in there somewhere. Still gives me chills! So very proud of him
I was discharged honorably from the Corps two weeks ago, after 5 years of service. I find myself reminisicng about it already. To any young man questioning whether or not to join, consider all your options before making the choice. You'll make amazing memories and life long friends, but also encounter some of the most challenging hardships of your life. I'm starting to feel the struggle to fit back into normal life, but I know im not alone. Semper Fidelis to all my devil dogs, in past, present, and future

Proud to serve with these men, proud to be a hospital corpsman for marines
PLT 2025, Co. F, 2nd RTBN! We hiked the last miles of the Crucible upon a beautiful, bright, red, morning sun. It was impossible to hold back the tears, especially if you've been on the Island for 7 months...

The United States Marine Corps, the legendary American fighter, always first to defend and fight for our nation, older than the United States itself. Semper Fidelis - a most fitting motto. You are the greatest ..... !

Congratulations on becoming a Marine! Being a Marine is my dream! Good luck! :D
Congratulations Marine!
There are pros and cons to each path. If you haven't talked to a recruiter about it do that when you can. If you have talked to one then the choice is your's neither path is the wrong choice. Me I'm going in as enlisted I don't mind being on the front lines scratch that, I want to be on the front lines. But Its all down to personal preference your choice might change many times but do what ever you want to do.
Respected.
Best moment of my life a feeling like no other
April San Diego 2017. Anyone else?
cant wait to join
I did this oath in front of thousands at public events. This makes my cry.
Just graduated a few days ago at Mcrd sd Dirty delta!
I'm so sorry our commander in theif left you behind. You are our first and best. God Speed and Good Bless. Much love
I said the oath once, but I am looking forward to the last time I say it on Parris Island. October 30!
I swore that some oath this past Thursday. I can't wait to earn the title United States Marine.
That was usss!!! 1st Battalion Delta Company Grad. Date oct. 12 2012
I'm in an officer program (PLC) in college and now developing a knee problem. All I ever wanted to be is to become a U.S. Marine like my father (1978-1982) to carry on the family tradition since WWII. Now, I have that feeling of letting myself down and the name since I may not have the physical ability to earn the title.
PI 40 years ago now. Semper Fi.
Thank you all for the kind words which are much needed.
For it is EASY for some to spread hate and anger or say
harsh words. Wish more had the courage to say something
kind instead of ridicule.
Thanks!
@DmanMiner .. dude I hear you im so stoked to go. One year of college left
