About the United States Marine Corps:
The Marine Corps defends the people of the United States at home and abroad. Within every Marine is the willingness to engage and determination to defeat any adversary, and it is this fighting spirit that allows us to fight and win our Nation’s battles.
The mission of the United States Marine Corps is made up of three promises: We make Marines, we win our Nation’s battles, and we develop quality citizens prepared to fight and win battles.
You don’t join the Marines-you become one, forged in the crucible of training aboard our recruit depots on Parris Island, South Carolina, and in San Diego, California, or through the dedication required of officer candidates at Officer Candidates School in Quantico, Virginia. Beyond the physical requirements, aspiring Marines must prove they have the honor, courage, and commitment to face and defeat any obstacle.
Today, more than 180,000 enlisted Marines and 23,000 Marine Officers serve in active duty or reserve forces on bases and in communities around the world, proudly carrying with them the core values of the Marine Corps.

Did the oath of enlistment at the soldier ceremony at Fort Jackson, SC for the U.S. Army. Aug 18th 2022. I tried so hard not to cry, single tear ran threw my cheek 😅 then I lost it on the bus ride back to the company. I couldn’t hold it in. I was so happy and relieved that I finally made it as a split op. One of the proudest moments in my life.

To any young man questioning whether or not to join, consider all your options before making the choice. There are pros and cons to each path. If you haven't talked to a recruiter about it do that when you can. If you have talked to one then the choice is your's neither path is the wrong choice. Me I'm going in as enlisted I don't mind being on the front lines scratch that, I want to be on the front lines. But Its all down to personal preference your choice might change many times but do what ever you want to do.

I said the oath once, but I am looking forward to the last time I say it on Parris Island. October 30!

I'm in an officer program (PLC) in college and now developing a knee problem. All I ever wanted to be is to become a U.S. Marine like my father (1978-1982) to carry on the family tradition since WWII. Now, I have that feeling of letting myself down and the name since I may not have the physical ability to earn the title.

Thank you all for the kind words which are much needed.
For it is EASY for some to spread hate and anger or say
harsh words. Wish more had the courage to say something
    kind instead of ridicule.
