Dental hygienists who also share on youtube never really make videos in their shifts which is sometimes a downer because i want to see how it is actually being a DH. Kepp up the good work :)
Thank you! Phosphor plates are used in some offices as a radiograph, but requires delivering/processing time. I love old offices, but it surprises me sometimes that some offices have not remodeled or changed their old systems for convenience and newer technology:)
How do you like your job? Do you feel like it’s all worthy as far as pay and life /job balance? My husband is a dentist and I want to be a dental hygienist, what I like the most is the flexible work schedule, I have a zoom meeting today with a local private school hygienist program administrator. I love my profession and it is so rewarding. As there’s different options whether you want to be in a permanent place or have temporary shifts, the hygiene field gives you the most flexibility. It’s even more prefect if you don’t want a full time job and want to enjoy your life as the pay is competitive a lot of times. I’ve seen many couples as hygienists/dentists, and I personally think that’s a good goal:)

I’m looking to apply for the October 2024 dental hygiene program at this private school, deadline is May 2024. Their program pack everything in two and half years. Hi I’m currently in my senior year of dental hygiene school and I was wondering how was the transition from school to real life ? Do you have any tips or tricks?
I was really scared at first to start my first day and postponed to work for a week after getting my license. I saw how hygienists work in the real life from assisting experience, giving 30-45min per patient. So I tried searching for temp jobs that’s giving one hour, not a fast-paced office, and tried to manage my time and get used to it by working 2-3 days a week. After working like that for a month, I transitioned to work everyday and got used to 40min appointments:) Personally I think time management and good communication skills are important to start off.

Because I might be dentist but while I’m in dental school I can be a dental hygienist but idk if it will be ok because their gonna be mostly women in dental hygiene school
Hey there😊. You don’t need to worry about that! Dental hygiene career is no longer limited to women. I have guy friends who are dental hygienists and also have one friend who became a hygienist but continuing the education to become a dentist :)

Agree. I’ve been to a lot of private and some known name brand offices, but seems like most of the private offices these days do acommodate special needs and have a good system :)
I am not sure about technology field, but you should definitely research the area that you are interested in. I learned a lot about dentistry from my own assisting experience. The information can be abroad so try to watch videos or search different websites as well:)
