I have experienced that several times. That drifting will drive you crazy.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. There has to be a better way for the peep sight to work, especially in low light, which is what I'm finding in my evening practice, and ultimately when most people will probably get their best chances for a shot!

That was, actually, kinda of a fun video! I'm a new archer, and your content, like this, keeps me thinking further and deeper into the perfect shot. In a Zen way, you know you won't achieve it all of the time, you want to understand the hundred little that throw that last arrow off. Great explanation, and I welcome this kind of introspection!

Great Job! a topic I have never saw posted before and I have been aware of for many years .
My eye sight has changed and the more it changes the more I seem to realize this problem exists.
You shed a lot of things to consider to help in the correction and I thank you . Again Great always from your videos. I consider the best for archers on the internet.

Hey guys this man is a Pro.. I'm not, but I'm a regular shooter. I try to shoot all year, I know a lot of people don't shoot way.. I know a lot of last minute archers that treat bow hunting like rifle hunters that only shoot 100yrds.. guys it's a craft, archery.. if you're shooting regularly, you'll see your peep and sight alignment change with sunlight or any other light. If you wait till the last minute to get ready for bow season, don't blame the bow machinic or the guy who builds your arrows.

Thanks for the great video. I have noticed the difference between shooting outdoors and indoors but never knew why. I use a verifier when shooting indoors as I find I can see the rings on the target better. However I find it does blur my site somewhat, I can see my pins fine but my level bubble is blurred. I found that the verifier is of no use to me outdoors especially in bright sunlight. Bad eyesight sucks for archery so I’m always searching for anything that can help. Thanks again for these videos. They are a so helpful. Cheers.

I am putting the Raptor on both of my bows this time. One is in the shop getting new strings and ordered a new bow.

Wow I’ve experienced this as well never thought of that aspect of it occasionally I’d shoot and group tight at 30 yds but either slightly left occasionally right
I just assumed it was me

Great video! I would like to see more discussion on this, especially ways to deal with this other than to carry an umbrella because that’s not going to be an option in a hunting situation. I’ve noticed when shooting at my home range that lighting conditions seems to significantly affect my group size. I’ve thought it was just poor concentration on my part or just my not being in the zone. Now, I think it is the light. My range is outdoors and aligned east-west, so I get lots of different light at different times of the day. If you have any other suggestions it might help a lot of us. Thank you for a great series!

It won't effect the size of your group, it will just change where your group is on the target.

    • @JamesThomas-ng1se
      @JamesThomas-ng1se 4 года назад

@@InsideOutPrecision I caught that in the video. And, I have noticed that sometimes My group might be to the right, while with “good” light for me I’m dead on, and then later it might be to the left. But, there are times when I’m in bright sun and my target is in shadow, and when I get glare from the target being backlit that my group doesn’t seem to be as good. And I’ve already tried playing with my pin brightness. Anyway, it’s something for me to consider. Thanks again.

I known it isn't relevant to this video but I was thinking of putting in a verifier in my peep but I'm worried that its going to reduce the inner diameter of my peep, I have a 1/4 inc and it fits' my sight housing perfect, it's got threads inside the peep so I know I can put one in it

Would painting the inside of your peep with black 3.0 or matte black paint help with this?

my peep sight twists sometimes with the string is that ok cuz it seems like im more accurate when it does due to the smaller area left to right?

Does the Hamskea peep make it harder to see in low light, or does the extra weight slow down your arrow or change your tune?

No to all of the above

@@InsideOutPrecision thanks! I have a pair of them on order for my Evoke 31 and 35. I often shoot at late dusk or at night with lights, after the kids go to bed and I knew what it was, but the glare/lighting thing is a known issue I deal with.
