hermitNIK Yes BTS’s hardships may not compare to those of Syrian refugees or the Tutsi during the Rwandan genocide but they had their hardships for where they live(South Korea) There were members who had to choose between a bus ticket home and a meal everyday as a 16yr old, one who got into a car accident and permanently damaged his shoulder but was too afraid to tell anyone until years later, members who passed out from exhaustion because of intense practice, a member that had clinically diagnosed depression and social anxiety, not to mention they started from rock bottom the 7 of them shared one small room and recorded songs in a garage. Those are real hardships for people coming from a first world country. They’re lucky to not have been born in a war torn third world country and they acknowledge. Despite not having extreme hardships like those people they still had their own but they still make the effort to help people in not only their country but others as well. The members themselves do individual charity such as donating meat to orphanages under the name of their fandom(ARMY) or paying for uniforms for an entire school( in Korea you have to wear school uniforms) but they also do group charity such as donations to the Sewol Ferry Disaster relief(which was supposed to be kept on the down low but the media found out) and their worldwide end violence campaign with UNICEF in addition they are also goodwill ambassadors for the UN. They also use their platform(music) as a way to spread good messages such as loving oneself and bring awareness to things such as self harm and government corruption. I’m sorry this post is really long. Congratulations if you got to the end! Also this is not all they’ve done there’s a lot more this is just what I remember off the top of my head💜

Starting from being just an ordinary youtuber Superwoman broke all racial barriers, she never shyed away from speaking her mind, unafraid of being judged, became a speaker of women rights, constantly donates to charities for education of girls, spreads girl love. And to top it all of she's creative and has an amazing personality. #teamsuper

Suga's Aegyo just so you know, I am not part of some cult as you call it, but I grew to like her by getting to know all these things about her and realizing she is not your usual type of youtuber and she started just like any one of us, being a depressed teeneger who was trying to get better by using humor, she didn't do it for the views or the money and even though she does have it all today she still finds time to do things like this- charity stuff and all that. why would she be there right now giving that speach with all the important people around her, if she wasn't trying to make a change? she doesn't have to do that, as you can see from the views in this video, she doesn't get any promotion by doing it... I really believe that you just must be misinformed or something because I've been watching her for years and besides having an original type of content she also uses her platform to help people(girl love and helping with education for girls)... so yeah, there is that... I am not trying to argue with you, I am just trying to show you that there is some true in what I'm saying...

I don't know about you but Lilly's speech was really good! I can't believe some Armys are saying that "she didn't have to say crying girls and blah blah" why can't u all focus on how inspiring both her's and BTS's speeches were? Some are saying it was unprofessional....dude, she is a comedienne and its not like none of the others ever made jokes. Her speech was light hearted and to the point. I think she's right. The people like BTS (and other kpop bands), Lily(also other RUclipsrs), actors and actresses influence the youth. All teenage girls who like a celebrity is called "a crazy fangirl" and said to "be going through a phase" and their parents don't want to let them like what makes them happy, helps to go through a lot of stuff, helps to reach for their goals not only in education but in life. All those people get influenced by celebrities and become what they want to be.

When I found BTS they were also a group who I received so much positive vibes from, which a message to love yourself. Looking at the top 2 most online influencers to me in my life speak at UNICEF is a dream come true.
