I've always believed that stoicism and pugilism to were the core of masculinity and this movie demonstrates that well. As far as how hard you have to hit someone to knock them out it depends on where you hit them, how you them, and how hard. If you hit areas like the base of the skull it doesn't take much at all.

The guy outsmarted Nazis, trained Obi Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader, also trained Batman, ruled Narnia as Aslan, and ruled Olympus as Zeus.......and you still think it's a good idea to take his daughter? Good luck
This film is an example of why I don't do these big things that involves just trusting random people and, while the movie wasn't needed to tell me, why I never cared to visit outside the country.
This is such a heavy topic that I’m very passionate about. I actually went from the US to thailand to work w/ women who’d been rescued from the sex trafficking industry. Very difficult work but also very rewarding. It’s a very dark and horrible industry that sadly exists in many countries that exploit women.
40.3 million go missing every year to human trafficking. To answer your question, theses heroes do the job and sleep due to exhaustion, also if you work hard, you play hard. But at the end, when you retire, it for the most part catches up to you and get insomnia as you will see in Equalizer. I will not say more to not spoil the movie. You are human and like all heroes, you are only a hero "in the moment" afterwards you shake, shiver and, sweat like every other human. You just learn to temporarily turn it off till objective is completed and alone and in private, you cope however you can. I like how you two, despite the anxiety the movie causes you are both clear enough to ask the right questions.
Sadly, when this happens in real life, 99.999% of parents don't have the skills or resources to do this! As a mid-50s former small-town cop, I want to think I could be this kind of father, but, yeah.
Liam announced last week he was retiring from movies. He put out some more good action movies after this. I would recommend "A Walk Among the Tombstones" and "The Commuter".
Taken 1 is a well done action thriller. Everything is done seriously and should be taken seriously. The other movies are just silly action movies with poor jump cuts.
Other movies? This one in particular is infamous for poor jump cuts due to Neeson's poor shape. Have you seen the jump through fence scene? It had like 20 cuts in 10 seconds .
The singer character who the teenager looks up to is an actual singer from my country (Australia) - she's Holly Valance and she released some songs here, but not sure how much overseas success she had.....? She did us proud in this movie..... even got you guys saying she's a good actress. :)
I grew up watching the James Bond movies and, while I enjoyed them as a whole, I could never get past how unrealistic they were. Taken was the first movie I've seen that took a realistic approach to how someone who is trained at that high of a level would fight. There are no scenes where he shoots a hundred times and hits his enemy once, 10 minute long hand to hand fights, etc. Just brutal takedowns in a matter of seconds. That's exactly how someone with that amount of training would do it unless they were up against someone of equal training. It happens that fast in real life. Liam Neeson did a phenomenal job in both the physicality and the drama of the role. I hope you both check out the sequels Taken 2 and Taken 3.
"I had another Liam Neeson nightmare. I kidnapped his daughter and he just wasn't having it. They made **** of those movies. At some point you have to wonder if he's just a bad parent."
Jen the real scary part is that is exactly how becoming a Victim to Human Trafficking Starts... right after Deboarding a Plane or even deboarding at a Port or even while on a Cruise Ship It's basically a Human Delivery Supermarket when it comes picking out alone Young Teen/Adult Attractive Women or even Guy's.
The U.S. loves to go into other territories to make money. But they refuse to go to other countries to stop human trafficking. I wish more people would get involved to put an end to it.
I highly recommend the movie Ransom with Mel Gibson, Gary Sinese, and Renee Russo. It's a very powerful movie with a different take on a similar subject as Taken.
I think that mom was the real villain of the movie. She was horrible! She let's her daughter do whatever she wants. She lies to Liam and treats him like crap. And she seems like a gold digger. As far as I'm concerned, she was the one mostly responsible for her daughter being taken. She was the worst!
1 common thing I find with all the dads I know. We don’t have all these skills etc but we would burn the world down to protect our little girls. Life on the line without a 2nd thought.
I like your comments. You have something good to contribute. What I dislike is the constant comments talikng over some of the best parts of the movie. I spent two days in the hospital under observation. I had a small "brain bleed" and a partially ruptured right eardrum. Luckily there was dain bramage. ;)
Finally the reaction I’ve been waiting for and one of the best so I can’t wait for you guys including Holden to watch all of it the borne Trilogy and the taken Trilogy and I’m really looking forward to seeing you Jen continue on playing the halo trilogy
So the father ended up killing about 10 men because of his daughter's and wife's arrogance and ignorance of the world.
If you guys enjoyed this, you need to check out Homefront
I saw this at the theater when it came out and it was intense. I hope you 2 watch the sequels.
If you are up for a Liam Neeson movie based on a real historical person I recommend both "Rob Roy" & "Schindler's List".
Glad you had subtitles
This is such a heavy topic that I’m very passionate about. I actually went from the US to thailand to work w/ women who’d been rescued from the sex trafficking industry. Very difficult work but also very rewarding. It’s a very dark and horrible industry that sadly exists in many countries that exploit women.
It's nice to have a reaction video with 100% sincerity as opposed to 50%. Definite upgrade.
But the movie is missing a part, Amanda's folks have to be told what happened to their daughter.
Liam has been type cast ever since this movie.
Hi does have a very particular set of skills.
Sadly, when this happens in real life, 99.999% of parents don't have the skills or resources to do this! As a mid-50s former small-town cop, I want to think I could be this kind of father, but, yeah.
Sadly today’s alpha male is seen as a pariah.
The running now that you mention it. I'm here laughing to myself
Krav Maga is the fighting style done in this movie it was adopted for the Israeli defense forces.
Liam announced last week he was retiring from movies. He put out some more good action movies after this. I would recommend "A Walk Among the Tombstones" and "The Commuter".
Lost his wife 10 years ago
Every young person should watch this movie before going abroad.
Taken 1 is a well done action thriller. Everything is done seriously and should be taken seriously.
The other movies are just silly action movies with poor jump cuts.
It's funny because the John Wick franchise feels like what the Taken franchise wanted to be...
Other movies? This one in particular is infamous for poor jump cuts due to Neeson's poor shape. Have you seen the jump through fence scene? It had like 20 cuts in 10 seconds .
@@HABO2210 The fence scene is in Taken 3...
@Rorujin I know. But the 1st Taken is also filled with shaky cuts. Some call it style, I call it lack of fitness
So, technically, we're back to "My Friend watches... [film]", just with Jen as a host and her friend as the subject
It’s a third one too 😊 😊😊
yeah just gone ahead and watch all three
The singer character who the teenager looks up to is an actual singer from my country (Australia) - she's Holly Valance and she released some songs here, but not sure how much overseas success she had.....?
She did us proud in this movie..... even got you guys saying she's a good actress. :)
20:41 Look at Natalie's smile. I'm telling you, guys, those Disney movie fangirls aren't fooling around 😱😂.
now you guys need to watch taken 2 and taken 3
“I like movies of justice” well let me tell you about a man named John wick
Liam would make the ultimate student loan officer. Imagine getting a phone call from him about your delinquent payments😋
Hello! You may try watching "Tears of the sun" of Bruce Willis and Monica Belucci. Great film. Justice-serving.
A good movie with neeson in it that I don’t see many people talk about is called The Grey really good and another one is non-stop good suspense movies
There is NOTHING, and I mean absolutely NOTHING realistic about any of this lmao this is an old man who would get stomped out in the first fight 😭😭😭
This is actually one of the least common ways to trafffick someone
How come you’re talking while there’s dialogue happening?
I highly recommend the movie Ransom with Mel Gibson, Gary Sinese, and Renee Russo. It's a very powerful movie with a different take on a similar subject as Taken.
Liam's voice is so powerful.
It is chaotic to hear the dialogue and both of your comments talking over it. When you edit, please select impactful moments, pause the video and give your comments.
no more reading the movie summaries before watching!! haha great video!!!
I agree
TAKEN (2008) is a French action-thriller film [ Directed by Pierre Morel and produced by Luc Besson ], which has a multinational cast. French action / thriller / horror films will mostly not disappoint. ⬅🎬📀📺
Awesome you guys coolest funniest amazing and lovely reaction every time 🎉😇❤
😂😂 Jens reaction to Amanda saying, "I'm gonna sleep with him" said: "I call slut" 😅
Loved your reaction, please say you'll watch 2 & 3 soon.....
And this series just gets darker😭
Shock factor so much more excentuated with plugging the wife ... I luvd that scene
