    In such cases, you have to: 1. Deactivate the traction control system. 2. Push the Trail button. 3. Give it gas and use momentum. It will amaze you ;)

      I have done it like you said but, it didn't work that well. There are two things here 1. The slope is very steep 2. The snow is soft and deep, so tires find it difficult to get proper attachment to the surface of the snow.

    For those of you who might be interested this a 2.5L gasoline-electric hybrid engine. It has winter tires on it.

    I have 2020 LE and mud and sand seems to work best completely shuts off traction control and provides you with fully awd

      I need to experiment this year again with this traction control off mode. I will shoot another clip and post it. :)

    Good! my tires were at 34 psi which was not recommended. i deflate em to 32 to factory recommendations. traction on snow was awesome!

    No matter what vehicle with a driver that doesn’t know how to drive in the snow will have hard time.

      There are winter tires on this video. Problem is that the driveway is very steep. Moreover the snow was so deep the the car hang over the show with the body of the car.

    Could go with a winter set of studded tires if you need to. It would make very short work of this hill in any awd with decent clearance. Lots of people around my area run them and love them.

      Sure. Studded tires would make the work. Fully agree.

    Looks like a top notch set of winter tires are why you are going nowhere.........love the RAVs though....probably gonna get one this fall myself.

    kruca fuks nic te cepry jezdzic nie potrafo. cale szczescie zawsze dutki przywoza bo bez tego to by nie szlo z nimi wytrzymac.

    Yes it is AWD all the Wheels drive. Butt it is not 4x4 with high and low ratio and diff lock, the problem with te EV motor on the rear axle is, it is inpossible to reduce power it is always full power. ESP off is maybe better.

    Did you use trail mode? I'm new user of the same model but I didn't have an occasion to test it in such conditions. I see that the driveway is very steep. You and your car manged it. Good job. No more snow-chains ;)

      Yes I did. It was trail mode and in some cases I turned ESP off

    Na filmie tego nie widać ale nachylenie stoku jest 10-15 stopni. Zaspy są 0,5m.

      Poprawnie to lopata w dlon ;)
      Opcjonalnie (skoro sa zimowki) obnizenie cisnienia opon.
      Fajny filmik, dzieki za info jak to dziala.

      @@gietece :):) wyobraź sobie ze ta łopata co jest wbita w śnieg była wcześniej użyta do odśnieżenia CAŁOŚCI tego podjazdu. To jest odcinek Ok 50 m, szerokości ok 2 m a warstwa śniegu do odrzucenia miejscami sięgała 1 m. Troche mi to zajęło… Na filmie widać ze miejscami śnieg sięgał podwozia auta co IMO było powodem utraty przyczepności. Nie mam 3 filmu nagranego z akcji na gorze przy domku gdzie śniegu było tak dużo ze samochód się powiesił na podwoziu wisząc kołami swobodnie. Podsumowując Toyota jest super i napęd świetnie się sprawdza, ale nie jest to spychacz, wiec w grubszej warstwie śniegu po prostu grzęźnie. Dzięki za komentarz! Pozdr.

      @@lukaszkutrzeba3244 Trailmode and ESP on. Without ESP braking individual wheels you loose almost all traction. In your situation the problem is not the all wheel drive or the tires it’s that the snow is so high that the car rides up on it. in snow like this you can stop any vehicle even a tank with tracks instead of wheels can be stopped when the snow gets too high

    I read that Toyota has some updates for the ECU to improve their AWD system. Might want to check with Toyota in case this applies to you.

    I think you did just fine with what you had.
    They are great vehicles however it is an Electric Motorized Rear Wheel drive.
    It is not a mechanical AWD.
    So you did just fine in that situation.
    People that criticize your driving do not understand.
    Plus they are Richard Craniums to boot. 😉

      It could maybe. But the slope was very steep, and in addition to that the snow was a bit deep too.

    I have a tundra I'm trading in for the rav4 hybrid mpg is more important. I'll parking the street if I can have to lol

      Yeah mpg in Rav4 is quite nice especially in the city. Now I have 5,3 L/100km. In the summer it was 4,5 L/100km

      tak, to normalne. W czasie jazdy do przodu jest podobnie. Ale tylko kiedy silnik spalinowy jest wyłączony.

    I do not hate but…Why oh why(!) most of these winter tests on the tube is with the wrong type of tyres? I would climb that hill with my wifes fwd Karoq just because of proper Nokian studded tires. And with my BMW 3-series X-drive i would fly up that hill. Not because its a better car. Just because 90% is about the tires.. This video is just a pain to watch and i feel sorry for that Toyota 😂

      @@lukaszkutrzeba3244 you did perfect this is no forester i tested crv hand and hand with rav4 and the Subaru performed better in the snow even with worse tires it’s because everything is almost 50/50 split everything is well balanced even when braking

    You don’t know how to drive on the snow. I have driven 2WD on such conditions smoothly. Rule #1 slow acceleration

    Everybody knows rav4 and crv have inadequate awd systems time and time again only Subaru is best

      @@JonathanRogler the crv has oil dilution issues till this day honda claims they fixed but did not and rav 4 has high wind noise and tranny issues also the engine sound like its 50 years old major complaint

    Garbage awd system. A Subaru would walk right up .. Toyota has always had a pitiful awd system though. Nothing new
