My suggestion would be for the public, enmasse, to cancel their Netflix subscriptions on the release date of January 15th. This would send a crystal clear statement that even they could not ignore. Almost makes me wish I hadn't already canceled them many months ago, just so I could cancel on this date!
Why should we all miss out on some great Netflix work coming through because of a Royal Pain in the Asters? Their contract is binding.
