The Australian Stock Market (ASX) is Falling: Will it Continue to Fall?

Despite the Australian stock market rising 4 per cent on 5 January 2002, it fell heavily the next day and is not looking all that bullish. The highest weekly close on the All Ordinaries Index is still the week of 13 August 2021 at 7,897 points and this level is over 2 per cent higher than were our market closed on Friday 14 January 2022. So, in this week’s Australian Stock Market Report, Dale looks at where the market is heading and if it is expected to fall further over the next couple of weeks.

After reading your books early last year, I got out on a 15% stop loss from its high in Jul/Aug and then got back in late November for around the $45 mark. Hi Dale, welcome back and Happy New Year.
I've got BHP on my watchlist, not planning on buying at the moment. But I have noticed that there is a significant increase in short seller positions over the last few months, even with the share price rising. On the 14th of December there was an 8.11% short seller position and by the 11th of January there was a 9.16% short selling position. Now BHP is the 6th most shorted stock on the ASX.
Should this give me any concerns on purchasing BHP if I see these types of trends? Can it mean that there are people in "the know" that predict a share price drop is coming? Or should I avoid looking at short seller positions as it may be clouding my judgements about stocks?

That crazy All Ords sawtooth chart pattern of QE and arguing Trading Bots, fell apart at least for today.
I waited to see the Digi Bulls fight back, but they whimpered like rats abandoning ship.
