The Ultrasling Pro is designed to be used with the cushion for specific surgeries. It does enable you to remove the cushion safely and use as a 'normal' sling too, however this should be following clinical advice from your healthcare practitioner.
One week later and I STILL can’t get it on myself. Soon I’ll be alone and am very scared. My arms are short and the sling pounds on my thumb, which is full of arthritis.

I did contact my ortho and I had to drive in and got help from his PA. The PA also struggled, and had to contact a rep from DONJOY for help as how to put the sling back together and how to put it on me properly. It shouldn't be that difficult to put a sling on.
Yep, this is a horrible product not designed for humans. The hospital put it together almost perfectly, but the first night after surgery, we took it off to wash my arm and it was impossible to put it back together. Neither of us can figure out how to reassemble it close to correctly even after reading the booklet or watching these videos.
once fitted it is easy to take off. there are 3 buckles to undo and 1 velcro. I like that it is easy on and off. you don't need to take it apart each time. Also, online instructions if you need them. This is a great product.

Patient application 😂😂 what a joke. I've just come home after a shoulder operation. There is no way I could put this on without help. I'm looking for ways to help improve the support under my elbow???? any help would be much appreciated
Hello, thanks for your message. To ensure the elbow is supported, the strap across the back (up to the shoulder blade) needs to be tightened. This applies pressure on the back of the elbow sleeve, providing more support. The elbow should be sat deep in the sling, and as far back as possible. The absolute WORST brace. The Velcro cuts into exposed skin and pokes through clothing. The arm part of the sling is too loose on the arm and when laying down the arm falls upwards causing pain. There is zero support on the hand and the thumb strap is useless. The velcro areas on sling straps come loose and don't go back normally. The strap under the arm cuts into the armpit and breast area causing discomfort, the top part of the armpit circle goes into the neck area causing more discomfort, claustrophobic feelings and extreme frustration. I've been wearing this brace foe 4 days and the surgery was nothing compared to this crap. Buying a different one on Amazon today.
can you use it without the cushion?

This this is near impossible to put back on. too much velcro, too many straps, and very frustrating on the day after shoulder surgery.
