@@PackHacker2 Probably capture clip (Same quick release plate works with my tripod and that capture clip which is really useful) and their strap system which works perfectly with multiple cameras and straps.
Delivery on the Kickstarter is 5/2021 which is the half life for the current gen of phones. The timing + price + discount is not compelling for phone cases. They make great stuff so I’ll be interested if they have cases ready for subsequent phone launches.
I almost pulled the trigger on the $300+ package but decided to hold back. This video was a great help. I already have most of these capabilities using cheaper magnetic implements (steel plate inside the case + magnet everywhere else). I do have a question and if y'all can mention this *when* the actual product comes out. For the ball join in the car mount (the non charging one in this video and the charging one they are still working on), what's the diameter of the ball? I had a CD mount the ends in a ball and if that joint fits, I won't have to use the sticky on the dashboard. That makes the system a little more appealing. Thank you for the good work!
BEST review for the mobile tripod. SO GLAD I watched your review first. The Tripod is beyond extremely overpriced and overengineered. The include key is stupid and prone to lose even with the shallow storage, the soft lock (ONLY you pointed out) is also a very bad idea and ONE DROP is most likely game over for your 1k phone. The case is SUPERB but again, is way overpriced. AND NEVER, EVER use the sticker mount for the bike mount. It's not a matter of IF, it's WHEN it comes off and Murphy will tell you it's when your need your phone the most for emergency.
I've had that universal phone adapter slip off 6 times when riding with the out front bicycle mount the adhesive just let loose and I almost lost my phone. so my suggestion is if you don't have a full peak case for your phone don't use it
Huge fan of Peak’s stuff, BUT after using the everyday zip pack the last 5 months had to let it go. Just couldn’t deal with fidgeting with the zippers, straps, and sloshing of my gear in the bag anymore. As a photographer I wanted function over innovation first and it just didn’t deliver, back to my old protactic and so happy tbh. Peak had amazing quality in their v1 products ( I looove the clip and shoulder bags), but as for function I find a lot of their newer stuff lacking for the cost to quality ratio. This seems similar, like it would get annoying after a while and I’d go back to something simpler 🤷🏻♂️. Will keep an eye on this but I dunno...
I LOVE Peak Design but they should really work their Mobile Hard Lock on all the mounts. It’s a non-starter for me due to most of the mounts not having hard lock.
The magnet is much stronger than you probably think, especially on the production models vs the pre-production ones seen in this video. I really don’t feel like the significant extra bulk is needed for a hard lock on stuff like the wallet. And the kickstand, while it doesn’t have a lock, does slot in into the square hold. Together with the magnets, it’s more than sturdy enough for anything you’d wanna use your phone with.
The mobile tripod is perfect for mountainbiking. Sometimes I’d like to film my self riding something, but carrying even a small gorillapod is too much.
I am a BACKER OF THIS PROJECT, but I am not happy and impressed with the way the TRIPOD is making the phone fall down. Please, DO NOT disappoint your backers, try and do a good job on this.
You can attach it using 3M adhesive tape, so you should be able to stick it to any flat surface! Some car interiors have texture, so it may not stick to that. -Eric
Hey Victor - the 3M VHB adhesive used is super sticky (at least with the sample we got). It's stuck on pretty well, which is great for security while using it, but the removal and transfer of it seems more difficult. - Tom
My Dension cardock use the same adhesive system, the glue released after a few years, it was a nightmare to scrape off the residue from both the dashboard and from the car mount, to be able to mount it again...
Am I the only person that finds it strange that everyone will go over everything, except literally just holding the case side by side with another case (phone inserted) where you can actually see how it looks and feels on it's profile. Seeing how thick it is in the hand is the most important starting point for cases really.
probably my least favorite of all the PD stuff. I don't see the purpose of the high price for most of the accessories. The case doesn't look good, the tripod is iffy at best. The wall mount not sure who that would be for and literally a magnet... the bike mount and car mount, seems like the sort of stuff that there are already solid options for.
Could just be me but I am ok with paying a little more for a product with a higher build quality. I've gone through so many cheap Amazon car mounts and tripods and other accessories that I will gladly pay the Peak Design price for a product that is strong, reliable and environmentally friendly.
That small tripod is a joke! There are more better small tripod than this, I think the wall mount can move around it's because you can adjust the angle you want on the wall
Very interesting products from pd. I have been using many peak design product on photography equipment and all have been almost perfect.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, Petri! Do you have a favorite product from the Peak Design gear you currently use? 😊

Great shout, Petri! We hear you, the Capture Clip can be super handy. We're glad you've found a range of products that work so well for you.

I love the Legos in the background. Please do a video on your Lego collection!!

Yup…still waiting!
Just need to fix the magnet strength for that mini tripod and I’m buying it
That tripod is mind blowing.

I also would like to know this!

Is the mobile tripod the sort of thing where someone could just leave it attached to their phone, or does it become too bulky?

Are you using the Iphone 11 case on a Iphone X model? im very interested because I have an X and prefer to get the case than universal adaptor. Thanks
Good solution but an air vent mount missing
They finally added one! After a couple years haha
Am I the only one who doesn't like the case materials. Why no colors or solid black?..

It looks like you have one of their cases on an XS. Which case are you using and how well does it fit?
Hi, can we use the wall mount in your car?
You can attach it using 3M adhesive tape, so you should be able to stick it to any flat surface! Some car interiors have texture, so it may not stick to that.

Wow that was fast
Was really hoping it was going to be luggage 🧳.... aww well hope they do soon
I think all of the mounts should have tabs. It's more secure but still easy to attach and detach your device with one hand.
A lot of "get to that in a second"....and those were Microsoft seconds....
Other than that good review
Is the universal adaptor removable and reusable?

I miss Japan.
Too bad not for me as I'm not getting iPhone 12...

Can you sell your mobile tripod to me? Thank you very much mwuah mwuah tsup tsup
Find all their stuff overrated and overly expensive.
