People can talk all they want about Duel Links, but the TCG is a far worse kind of pay to win. Everyone has a chance to get virtual cards, but if you want the physical cards for tournaments, people can literally paywall you just by drawing the card first in a booster. I guess Konami already addressed this by making virtual versions of the game though.... shame Pokemon TCG took THIS long to do the same...
@@MarioMastar I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Pokémon TCG Online came out in 2011, 5 years before Duel Links (which came out in 2016). You’re probably thinking of Pokemon TCG Live, which came out last year to replace PTCGO, as TPC decided to cut costs by essentially making a new version of it in-house. (Online was officially licensed by TPC, but was made and maintained by a third party company.)

I think you misunderstand. For the online tcg, you needed the physical card to play it online. Idk how it is rn, but that's how it was when it was released.
In Linkerbells defense i must say that it was one of the first Link 2s that were printed in the OCG and was intended as pendulum support. But in the TCG its late release made it a bad card.
Reminds me of how new mechanics were often "Over balanced" so the new mechanic wouldn't dominate the game too much. Kind of miss that though as the game is so far removed from that, every strategy is "Hope you draw Ash or Nibiru or just surrender cause you're gonna be FTKed....guaranteed."

XD Sure tournament playing meta heads want to minmax thier decks, but a lot of players just like playing thier favorite cards regardless of consistency and win/loss record. The thing you missed with defender of labrynth is the normal pendulum strategy, where it has great arrows for pendulum summoning from the extra deck and giving some juice to the beatdown. Its not a good strategy but its right at home there
Galaxy Satellite Dragon was part of a very not good Harpie combo line that eventually ended on Smorgh, barrier statues, and infinite negates with apex avian and thunder bird
Back in Master Duel, one of my decks was a janky Normal beatdown deck that used things like Pendulums (some of them are Normal) and Heat Wave. And some Tenyi backrow. So, fun fact: Heat Wave DOES NOT prevent you from doing Ritual Summons or Extra Deck summons, it just limits you to vanillas. That LANphorhynchus was actually a nice asset for making plays under my Heat Waves. I had fun with that deck. Basically, yes, LANphorynchus can indeed be used in many ways Linkerbell cannot. You reminded me of that.

Does Duel Links save Junk Connector from number 2 on this list, making it so it JUST has a quick synchro, not worrying about what it points to? One thing I appreciate about Defender of the Labyrinth is that he kinda looks like the older Warrior monsters in YuGiOh, what with the glowing yellow eyes. It reminds me a lot of the "weirder" warriors from back in the day.

What does the link effect actually do ? Does it let you move your monsters around on link summon ? Also, the fusion, synchro and xyz effects are pretty mid given that, if you get the effect, you likely don't need it.
@@dudono1744 The idea with the link effect is that, after you link summon a monster, you can immediately rearrange the field to get all the cards you want into the range of any arrows you need (and/or muck up your opponent’s arrow shenanigans). That and the other effects, while mid, are _PERMANENT,_ regardless of what happens to the card after the fact, so you can potentially get your extra deck and/or pendulum plays back to back to back with the right setup.
Honestly, Linkerbell has a niche in Duel Links, where the Extra Deck limit is 8, and you can often go through 4-ish Extra Deck monsters. Junk Connector also has a niche in Duel Links, in decks using the Shooting Star Road skill, with its floating effect being able to bring out the best Junk synchro monster, that can be used as material for Stardust Dragon, Junk Warrior
What's funny is you can actually use Galaxy satellite dragon as a material straight from the ED with the new Dragluxion card and detatch it to just give you a damage step trick. Thing is the deck has no trouble putting 8k damage on board and it completes with yk. Every good rank 8 in the deck.
You know a card is bad when a LInk card who's only effect is a restriction on how you can summon it is better, and a NORMAL Link monster is better than THAT one. XD Those have to be some of my favorite cards in these videos. the ones that are SO bad, you WISH it was just a vanilla or did nothing at all. Just really interesting when you come across cards that are a detriment to the player who uses them not due to being an intentionally bad card (like Cold Feet and Humble Sentry) but a detriment because the very mechanics used to play the card in the first place only really put you in a worse situation in general, to the point your opponent would have to LET you pull off the 1 in a million combo to get off the advantageous part only for you to still not win...and the opponent did nothing at all but leave thier board empty and pass so you could pull it off in the first place. XD Without question those are the worst cards. There are definitely cards that look bad, but you could mystical Rafpanel them to make them amazing, or even find SOME niche that once in a blue moon would give you some advantage without drawback (e.g. there ARE positive uses for Cold Feet, even if it's maybe a 1 in # of cards ever released in the GAME odds), but it seems like ANY way you play LInk Bumper, you're always going to be in a worse situation than just...not playing it as any other link combination you try to bring out to FULFILL the condition to get off it's effect will likely do a lot more to winning you the game than at best attacking twice against an opponent setting up TWO 0 attack LInk monster with your 4000 attack Link that link bumper is pointing to.... TWO because you only get the extra attack IF your opponent has a link monster to hit and you can't attack with your other monsters. Even Flying Elephant at least lets you WIN the game without your opponent saying "I surrender" and saving both of your time.

Yeah it seems to heavily balance LInks so they don't act as "Get out of jail free cards" like in the TCG, the Link cards available are either vanilla, very bad (the ones on this list mostly), or extremely niche/archetype specific. Of all the Link cards I could climb into with my GB deck, the ONLY one that I could that was useful to me was Borreload dragon as it's a generic Link 4 (well requires effect monsters) that does something when on the field so if I have to leave the GB archetype to end on a body, I'm ending on something that counts as a boss monster and not just some easy to out big beater. (the others are either worse than Test panther and thus not worth linking off, or have effects that I can't use cause they're archetype specific/require cyberse monsters)
Alright, on number 9, I feel called out. They are in fact, still in the packaging sitting in the game case.... (and I bought the game used, which means even the previous owner didn't wanted them) I could see using Progleo in a very specific situation within the Thunder Dragon deck. But it would have to be on the field after Thunder DragonStormech is in the GY, and have a TDDark, Matrix or Roar in the right spot. Which now I'm kind of tempted to see that happen. Also weirdly enough, I ordered a few cards from online and they gave me Sunavalon Daphine for free with one of my orders. No idea why they did, or if it was by accident. And since it was brought up, in Legacy of the Duelist, I found Doublebyte Dragon useful after using Predaplant Verte Anaconda's effect the previous turn, to get it off the field and not have any weak monsters that can be attacked. Granted, that's in a unique situation where I've already managed to get Thunder Dragon Thunderstormech on the field, using it's ability to mimic Thunder Dragonhawk's ability to get a different Thunder Dragon monster on the field as fotter for some other combo. Against the computer, It can be fun to see these cards in action. Against other players though... Yeah not useful, but I don't play other people on the game.
Well, if you have a bunch of Pendulum monsters face-up in your Extra Deck, would that make Linkerbell easier to summon? Or do Pendulum monsters not count?
I use Defender in DM just as material to get me to Dark Cavalry Armillyre is also useful for DM for rank 7 or fusion plays. Also helps getting Mahad and Illusion from being stuck in your hand....of course you can just not play them in more competitive builds
I use Junk Connector all the time lol. His floating effect is great for my Synchron deck, especially to summon that one guy that lets you summon a bunch of Synchron tuners from the deck. He's a really consistent way to Baronne for me.
You forgot that Linkerbell was mainly made for Pendulum support and in Pendulum decks you will have many cards in your Extra Deck. But it is more or less obsolete because of Heavymetalfoes Electrumite and Beyond the Pendulum.
I actually side deck my progleo in my personal deck. Banishing dotscaper with it to essentially steal a big link monster like for example; saryuja skull dread or amphibious swarmship amblowhale from your opponent's gy at pretty much no cost due to dotscaper's effect is hilarious, especially as it can add targets to the effect of the normal spell link hole as if at this point you have 2 link-4 monsters and a link-3 monster like say detonate deleter you can destroy 3 cards your opponent controls possibly triggering further effects on your field depending on your other monsters and cards your opponent controls after the effect of link hole is applied. One example is if you summoned Unchained Abomination to your extra monster zone to start the combo, then you get progleo to steal a link-4 and use a revived from banishment dotscaper + backup secretary + Cyberse white hat to make detonate deleter, then activate link hole and destroy your opponent's most powerful monsters, Abomination will trigger allowing you to destroy your opponent's backrow if they end their turn at this point Unchained Abomination will destroy another because it is the end phase meaning your opponent is now totally reliant on having a usable hand trap to even attempt to disrupt your combo. If they have more than 3 monsters detonate deleter can mop up 1 other monster per turn as if it battles a monster that is not a link-3 or higher monster it can automatically destroy it with it's effect without damage calculation occuring, which can trigger Abomination's effect on your opponent's turn to destroy yet another card, giving you complete control of the duel's state flow via a combo started by your opponent trying to combo off themselves.😂
Actually Satellite Galaxy Dragon is now Part of Dragluxion-Tachyon Dragon-Tachyon Spyral-Satellite Combo to make a 10700 ATK beatstick that is unaffected by everything and can attack twice
If determined to use double byte dragon, use I:p masquerena as one of the materials to make it immune to everything except spell/trap banishment effects. There are generic normal monster link-3 monsters who make great use for the other material like traffic ghost for example. This way you have a 3000+ Atk link-2 who is immune to everything except spell/trap banishment effects. Makes it better than being on this list. As under this method it has power on par with link-4 or higher monsters, pair it with honeybot and it gains total battle destruction immunity while she points to it.

Naturally, a Top 10 Worst Link-3 Monsters is in the works. I can't readily think of any monsters that would be on that list, but if/when Top 10 Worst Link-4 Monsters happens, the Dollar General Accesscode Talker that is Rasterliger deserves a spot. I'll just leave Top 10 Emergency Teleport Targets, Top 10 Searchers That Can Search Other Searchers, Top 10 Worst Continuous Spells, and Top 10 Worst Continuous Traps here for now.
Sometimes the "Top 10 worst" video isn't really a list of bad cards (except maybe like 2 or 3 of them) but they just happen to be the worst compared to other options. XD I think he mentions that sometimes "So why is it on the list? Cause there are like 15 cards that fit this niche and this is the 10th worst, but also the 5th best." Those videos amuse me.
No wonder S:P sucks. I used two monster for the link summon; and when it was summoned it did nothing. I called a judge and they told me I need to use fusion, synchro, link, or xzy. That's hard to bring out. Screw it. I'm selling my copy. Does anyone know how much it goes for?
I miss the chaos of early. Extra Decks would pack vanillas like LANphorhynchus and massive bosses like Utopia The Lightning out of necessity. People ran Honey Bot!
Can someone explain to me what the point of a link monster with no effect is? Why would I dump monsters into a low statted link summon if there's no effect?
It's mostly an artifact of early Master Rule 4 when link monsters were necessary to summon more than 1 monster from the Extra Deck. There were like no generic monsters with usable arrows beside non effect monsters. Or you needed to convert a monster to a different type, and there were no options besides a non-effect link. Then some decks like Tenyi focus on non-effect monsters, so cards like Monk or Berserker of the Tenyi are well supported and imortant in the deck, even though they have no effect.
Actually with Sunavalon Daphnie, because of the limits to the most important Link-1 monsters in the archetype, Daphnie is now a sort of forced requirement to go through the same combo as before the hard limits.
even the arguably best junk synchro after speeder, junk destroyer does nothing with connectors floating effect since it destroys based on the number of non-tuners used

As someone who's actually run Binary Blader/Binary Sorcerer, naw, it's not as bad as some of the stuff further down the list, and no, the way you summon it isn't with tokens. It's with pendulums. Vanilla pendulum was real for a little while, and even without their effects, their summoning condition and arrows did some stuff for the decks. What their effect was didn't matter, just as long as they had effects to link them off, and the sideways arrows were useful for setting up bigger pendulum summons. Not GOOD, but it was useful once upon a time, unlike most of this list.
I think even for boss monster you take qli tower he doesn't is affect he also rip cards from your opponent hand and even lower some stats I think towers was always some big guy but also has some effect to apply in the game.
I actually still have Progleo and pals in their original packaging. I bought the Switch game cuz I wanted to play Yu-Gi-Oh without paying for competitive decks or playing one of the mobile games. Already lost my Duel Links account twice (upgrading to new phones), not restarting again.
Daphne is actually good if you just want to U-link in pure sunavalon. Not for the effect but because it has good arrows and is a target for sunseed shadow. So yeah pretty bad when you're only using it for arrows

In Linkerbells defense i must say that it was one of the first Link 2s that were printed in the OCG and was intended as pendulum support.
But in the TCG its late release made it a bad card.
Reminds me of how new mechanics were often "Over balanced" so the new mechanic wouldn't dominate the game too much. Kind of miss that though as the game is so far removed from that, every strategy is "Hope you draw Ash or Nibiru or just surrender cause you're gonna be FTKed....guaranteed."

The thing you missed with defender of labrynth is the normal pendulum strategy, where it has great arrows for pendulum summoning from the extra deck and giving some juice to the beatdown. Its not a good strategy but its right at home there
i use it in Master duel where we only play with N Rarity cards in my metalfoe igknight deck and that is pretty good
Galaxy Satellite Dragon was part of a very not good Harpie combo line that eventually ended on Smorgh, barrier statues, and infinite negates with apex avian and thunder bird

Back in Master Duel, one of my decks was a janky Normal beatdown deck that used things like Pendulums (some of them are Normal) and Heat Wave. And some Tenyi backrow. So, fun fact: Heat Wave DOES NOT prevent you from doing Ritual Summons or Extra Deck summons, it just limits you to vanillas. That LANphorhynchus was actually a nice asset for making plays under my Heat Waves. I had fun with that deck.
Basically, yes, LANphorynchus can indeed be used in many ways Linkerbell cannot. You reminded me of that.

What does the link effect actually do ? Does it let you move your monsters around on link summon ? Also, the fusion, synchro and xyz effects are pretty mid given that, if you get the effect, you likely don't need it.

The idea with the link effect is that, after you link summon a monster, you can immediately rearrange the field to get all the cards you want into the range of any arrows you need (and/or muck up your opponent’s arrow shenanigans).
That and the other effects, while mid, are _PERMANENT,_ regardless of what happens to the card after the fact, so you can potentially get your extra deck and/or pendulum plays back to back to back with the right setup.
Saying satellite dragon is worse than a vanilla link 2 with restrictions is crazy
Honestly, Linkerbell has a niche in Duel Links, where the Extra Deck limit is 8, and you can often go through 4-ish Extra Deck monsters.
Junk Connector also has a niche in Duel Links, in decks using the Shooting Star Road skill, with its floating effect being able to bring out the best Junk synchro monster, that can be used as material for Stardust Dragon, Junk Warrior
3:20 Defender is actually pretty good in the Legacy Pack Format for the Normal Pendulum deck in the format being played at 3. Although that is niche.
What's funny is you can actually use Galaxy satellite dragon as a material straight from the ED with the new Dragluxion card and detatch it to just give you a damage step trick. Thing is the deck has no trouble putting 8k damage on board and it completes with yk. Every good rank 8 in the deck.

You know a card is bad when a LInk card who's only effect is a restriction on how you can summon it is better, and a NORMAL Link monster is better than THAT one. XD Those have to be some of my favorite cards in these videos. the ones that are SO bad, you WISH it was just a vanilla or did nothing at all. Just really interesting when you come across cards that are a detriment to the player who uses them not due to being an intentionally bad card (like Cold Feet and Humble Sentry) but a detriment because the very mechanics used to play the card in the first place only really put you in a worse situation in general, to the point your opponent would have to LET you pull off the 1 in a million combo to get off the advantageous part only for you to still not win...and the opponent did nothing at all but leave thier board empty and pass so you could pull it off in the first place. XD
Without question those are the worst cards. There are definitely cards that look bad, but you could mystical Rafpanel them to make them amazing, or even find SOME niche that once in a blue moon would give you some advantage without drawback (e.g. there ARE positive uses for Cold Feet, even if it's maybe a 1 in # of cards ever released in the GAME odds), but it seems like ANY way you play LInk Bumper, you're always going to be in a worse situation than just...not playing it as any other link combination you try to bring out to FULFILL the condition to get off it's effect will likely do a lot more to winning you the game than at best attacking twice against an opponent setting up TWO 0 attack LInk monster with your 4000 attack Link that link bumper is pointing to.... TWO because you only get the extra attack IF your opponent has a link monster to hit and you can't attack with your other monsters. Even Flying Elephant at least lets you WIN the game without your opponent saying "I surrender" and saving both of your time.

Yeah it seems to heavily balance LInks so they don't act as "Get out of jail free cards" like in the TCG, the Link cards available are either vanilla, very bad (the ones on this list mostly), or extremely niche/archetype specific. Of all the Link cards I could climb into with my GB deck, the ONLY one that I could that was useful to me was Borreload dragon as it's a generic Link 4 (well requires effect monsters) that does something when on the field so if I have to leave the GB archetype to end on a body, I'm ending on something that counts as a boss monster and not just some easy to out big beater. (the others are either worse than Test panther and thus not worth linking off, or have effects that I can't use cause they're archetype specific/require cyberse monsters)
Alright, on number 9, I feel called out. They are in fact, still in the packaging sitting in the game case.... (and I bought the game used, which means even the previous owner didn't wanted them) I could see using Progleo in a very specific situation within the Thunder Dragon deck. But it would have to be on the field after Thunder DragonStormech is in the GY, and have a TDDark, Matrix or Roar in the right spot. Which now I'm kind of tempted to see that happen.
Also weirdly enough, I ordered a few cards from online and they gave me Sunavalon Daphine for free with one of my orders. No idea why they did, or if it was by accident.
And since it was brought up, in Legacy of the Duelist, I found Doublebyte Dragon useful after using Predaplant Verte Anaconda's effect the previous turn, to get it off the field and not have any weak monsters that can be attacked. Granted, that's in a unique situation where I've already managed to get Thunder Dragon Thunderstormech on the field, using it's ability to mimic Thunder Dragonhawk's ability to get a different Thunder Dragon monster on the field as fotter for some other combo.
Against the computer, It can be fun to see these cards in action. Against other players though... Yeah not useful, but I don't play other people on the game.
Well, if you have a bunch of Pendulum monsters face-up in your Extra Deck, would that make Linkerbell easier to summon? Or do Pendulum monsters not count?

Armillyre is also useful for DM for rank 7 or fusion plays. Also helps getting Mahad and Illusion from being stuck in your hand....of course you can just not play them in more competitive builds
I actually took my copy of Progleo out of the booster pack and put it in the Extra Deck for one of my Cyberse rogue decks.

I use Junk Connector all the time lol. His floating effect is great for my Synchron deck, especially to summon that one guy that lets you summon a bunch of Synchron tuners from the deck. He's a really consistent way to Baronne for me.
You forgot that Linkerbell was mainly made for Pendulum support and in Pendulum decks you will have many cards in your Extra Deck. But it is more or less obsolete because of Heavymetalfoes Electrumite and Beyond the Pendulum.

I actually side deck my progleo in my personal deck. Banishing dotscaper with it to essentially steal a big link monster like for example; saryuja skull dread or amphibious swarmship amblowhale from your opponent's gy at pretty much no cost due to dotscaper's effect is hilarious, especially as it can add targets to the effect of the normal spell link hole as if at this point you have 2 link-4 monsters and a link-3 monster like say detonate deleter you can destroy 3 cards your opponent controls possibly triggering further effects on your field depending on your other monsters and cards your opponent controls after the effect of link hole is applied. One example is if you summoned Unchained Abomination to your extra monster zone to start the combo, then you get progleo to steal a link-4 and use a revived from banishment dotscaper + backup secretary + Cyberse white hat to make detonate deleter, then activate link hole and destroy your opponent's most powerful monsters, Abomination will trigger allowing you to destroy your opponent's backrow if they end their turn at this point Unchained Abomination will destroy another because it is the end phase meaning your opponent is now totally reliant on having a usable hand trap to even attempt to disrupt your combo. If they have more than 3 monsters detonate deleter can mop up 1 other monster per turn as if it battles a monster that is not a link-3 or higher monster it can automatically destroy it with it's effect without damage calculation occuring, which can trigger Abomination's effect on your opponent's turn to destroy yet another card, giving you complete control of the duel's state flow via a combo started by your opponent trying to combo off themselves.😂

If determined to use double byte dragon, use I:p masquerena as one of the materials to make it immune to everything except spell/trap banishment effects. There are generic normal monster link-3 monsters who make great use for the other material like traffic ghost for example. This way you have a 3000+ Atk link-2 who is immune to everything except spell/trap banishment effects. Makes it better than being on this list. As under this method it has power on par with link-4 or higher monsters, pair it with honeybot and it gains total battle destruction immunity while she points to it.

Sometimes the "Top 10 worst" video isn't really a list of bad cards (except maybe like 2 or 3 of them) but they just happen to be the worst compared to other options. XD I think he mentions that sometimes "So why is it on the list? Cause there are like 15 cards that fit this niche and this is the 10th worst, but also the 5th best." Those videos amuse me.
No wonder S:P sucks. I used two monster for the link summon; and when it was summoned it did nothing. I called a judge and they told me I need to use fusion, synchro, link, or xzy. That's hard to bring out. Screw it. I'm selling my copy. Does anyone know how much it goes for?

Can someone explain to me what the point of a link monster with no effect is? Why would I dump monsters into a low statted link summon if there's no effect?
It's mostly an artifact of early Master Rule 4 when link monsters were necessary to summon more than 1 monster from the Extra Deck. There were like no generic monsters with usable arrows beside non effect monsters. Or you needed to convert a monster to a different type, and there were no options besides a non-effect link.
Then some decks like Tenyi focus on non-effect monsters, so cards like Monk or Berserker of the Tenyi are well supported and imortant in the deck, even though they have no effect.

Actually with Sunavalon Daphnie, because of the limits to the most important Link-1 monsters in the archetype, Daphnie is now a sort of forced requirement to go through the same combo as before the hard limits.

I don't think Galaxy Satellite Dragon & Junk Connector are that bad
As someone who's actually run Binary Blader/Binary Sorcerer, naw, it's not as bad as some of the stuff further down the list, and no, the way you summon it isn't with tokens.
It's with pendulums.
Vanilla pendulum was real for a little while, and even without their effects, their summoning condition and arrows did some stuff for the decks. What their effect was didn't matter, just as long as they had effects to link them off, and the sideways arrows were useful for setting up bigger pendulum summons.
Not GOOD, but it was useful once upon a time, unlike most of this list.

I think even for boss monster you take qli tower he doesn't is affect he also rip cards from your opponent hand and even lower some stats I think towers was always some big guy but also has some effect to apply in the game.

Daphne is actually good if you just want to U-link in pure sunavalon. Not for the effect but because it has good arrows and is a target for sunseed shadow. So yeah pretty bad when you're only using it for arrows

Satellite isn’t a photon dragon support it’s a tachyon dragon support. Rank 4/8 Dragon spam deck and non of the photon stuff
