None of the American Idol winners are bad or average singers.....was the show staged to get more exposure and viewers? Yes. Did the show produce any mediocre or bad acts? I don't think so!! In fact it produced some of the most successful acts of the decade (00's), like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, David Cook, Adam Lambert, Haley Reinhart, David Archuleta, Clark Beckam, just to name a few.... clearly the people who got into the show, knew what it was a about, being aware that had both positive and negative sides...if anything, anyone who got picked to be on the show should've been grateful for the exposure and knowledge they got from being in it, instead of complaining about it being impartial.....it is a chance, and when you are a struggling musician looking for a chance, it is as simple as taking it or go the harder route and get a recording contract while being a "nobody".

Simon loves his ego. That’s his whole life. When it comes to his job, it takes a lot for someone to make him forget about himself and focus on the singing, and that’s just what Fantasia did. For him to just tilt his head and not have any expression, he’s truly listening, and only a few people in history have been able to do that to him. I think he’s arrogant, but he’s not dumb. He thinks he’s above everyone else, and maybe he is, but when someone steps up to plate, and is just as powerful or even more so than him, he doesn’t get angry, jealous, or dismissive. He sees someone else for the first time. He may not be a singer, but his ears and his understanding of music is incomparable. Fantasia, especially with the uniqueness of her voice truly messed Simon up. No doubt he was up all night thinking about her voice.

I've never seen his support anyone more than Fantasia for the whole season. He was always very vocal about how much he liked her, on & off the stage. I have lots of love for my girl Fantasia!!

I really think Fantasia deserved her win even if JHud & Latoya London were great singers as well during that season. But Fantasia just got it. A unique voice, great showmanship, emotional connection, charisma and the x-factor
I remember watching this and thinking "That's one of the new masters. She's gonna win". Everybody else was kinda blase'. I know talent. Period.
